- This is a video of a generator for a micro hydro system in the Philippines made from motorcycle parts. The goal was to build something cheap that could be maintained easily using only parts available in rural areas of the Philippines. The generator will later be used with either a Pelton wheel or a waterwheel. The only difficult part was the shaft which was made by a machine shop. Everything else came from junk motorcycles, scrap yards, or the hardware store. Voltage is a steady 13.5-14V through the regulator with enough RPM. Output is unknown, but it should be enough for a constant 200-300W at least (hopefully).
Update: After using is with a waterwheel I can say that it DOES work, but only puts out about 30-50 watts. It was tested using automotive light bulbs. It should charge a battery fine. Seems to not be very efficient, but it does work. The biggest problem now is finding a place for my waterwheel on our creek (which can have wicked floods).

The greater the circumfrence of your peleton wheel, the more revelutions and less power is needed to push the wheel.
That thing can make only 14 V limit, it has limiter device. Need 220 need to improvise youse, charge it to battery youse inverter to make 220VAC.

you need to reconfigure the winding or wind it in 3phase to make it efficient, the original winding was designed to produce curremt in very high rpm.

If you don't install the regulator you will get AC only. Good for light bulbs only. To charge batteries you need the regulator, it has diodes to get DC.
in phillipines, that is called magneto set, i think yamaha n max has the highest wattage of magneto

Instead of 125cc stator use w tuk tuk 200cc rickshaws stator that is three phase 18 poles and using all the poles you will very close to 230watts. Use the three phase rectifier regulator for tuk tuk to charge the battery

i was planning to build one before..was planning for a low cost design of this..add a pelton wheel and waterproof the charging system \..cool..

bro modify the stator make it full wave to increase the current and wattage....
This is fullwave configuration to get more current rewind it and add more turns so u can get higher output for lower rpm

No battery needed. Permenant magnets.
it is too small capacity out put with low voltage and amps - the most batter is use solar panels for more power full out put-
