Hey Adam! Hope you all are doing well. I just made this bangers and mash pie tonight. I am hooked like a marlin on Hemingway's bait. I did all the same steps and ingredients, with a few exceptions. I used Aldi's breakfast sausage and maple sausage (neither were King Charles fingers, more like Mini-Me), which made a nice slightly mapley-sweet flavor. I had a package of low sodium brown gravy that I used with an extra cup of water to let it render down a bit. Used the same herbs, but no worshtah sauce-I forgot it. I did not add cheese as the butter and milk in the potatoes were pretty good. I'm definitely making this again and again; and it was definitely delicious. Thank you so much for the video and recipe. Please take care and be safe! 😊💖🙏

There is a shortcut with caramelized onions, add a bit of water to the pan and put a lid on a few mins then take it off and continue cooking. It helps to release all the sugars from the onions and speeds up the process massively. I recommend seasoning towards the end too, to avoid over seasoning

Remember you can make more (a lot more) caramelised onions than you need - they freeze pretty well, and then when you need some in the next few weeks you can just get some out the freezer. This might also be a bit cheaper as you are using that 45 mins of cooking to make 2 or 3 lots of onions, rather than doing 45 mins of cooking each time just to make the onions.

With regards to your posh new Greenhouse your probably better off taking it down or bringing it indoors for Winter= What happens is the plastic cover becomes brittle/dries out and rips with the harsher weather conditions. The Perfect Pie!
It's taking the common pork bangers, mash and onion gravy to the next level.
    So why not pie 👍🤤
I see you're using the bamboo tongs from the Temu purchase.
My little goodies parcel is due Monday or Tuesday.
I have a ricer, but I'm not impressed with it as a potato ricer 👎😕 It squeezes lemons better than it rices 👍
Used a few times but went back to the Workout masher I learnt to drive as a kid.
If you can't be fire trucked making mash, then a puff pastry top is just as good.
Btw, try using rice flour, it's an instant thickener without the wheat flour taste.

Good call - when I do a normal sausage casserole (with the mash separate), mushrooms are one of the things I always add (although chestnut mushrooms, sliced, in my case rather than button), Beans and sweet peppers could also be added too - my sausage casserole usually contains both of those too.

Love this been previously doing it wrong with cheaper bangers and a pile of mash next to them but this way is the way forward and you could even do individual pies using your recipe and making it special for each person with the bits and bobs they like or dislike so what a winner Adam!

I can't eat cheap sausages any more. And that certain brand that begins with R and ends in D who claim they are Britain's best sausage are complete liars! Awful sausages

Adam, I’m fairly new to your channel, how ever I’ve watched most of your vids. I’ve watched from present to about half way thru six years ago in the playlist. I have yet to see you do a video on the different fresh (raw) sausages in your area. When I say different I mean variety, and what’s in them? Maybe I’m the only stupid sob! who is interested the groceries stores all have the same thing bratwurst and Italian. Butcher shops are “a far and few between” and when you do find one they got the same shit! Brats and Italian. Now! If you want precooked the sky is the limit! Thanks

We have so many varieties of sausage it would be impossible to name them all. A few popular ones would be the Lincolnshire, Cumberland, hogs pudding, Newmarket sausages and black pudding to name a few

I have literally just made this and ready for the oven for tonight's tea. I used some Donald Russel 97% meat pork sausages which cost more than £5 for 6. I wouldn't normally pay that but they came as part of a special offer deal. You are right about the R******d sausages BTW.

Good morning Adam! I am SOOO making this! I think this would be a perfect Saturday &/or Sunday cool-evening comfort-meal, to enjoy out by the fire. LOL! Mogs snacked on a snag didn't he! 🤗
What are my favorite comfort foods? If it has to do with soups, potatoes, cheese, most warm foods with good flavor, that would be comfort food to me. I am very partial to tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. What type of sausages are you using? They look like the butcher made them in-house. I bet they are very good and I'll have to look for something like that here. Unfortunately, everything seems to have nitrates and preservatives in them so I'll be on the lookout for uncured sausages. Regardless, I'm making this in short order! Thank you for the video and recipe & cooking tips. Take care and be safe! Hug sweet Mogs for me! 😊💖🙏

One comfort food I forgot, but I have to share is creamed potatoes with brown butter. I tried this after watching Lynette Yoder's Amish cooking video and fell in love with it. The brown butter does take the taters to the next level. I have to make it and share it, as in a potluck or take to share for dinner, because, no kidding, I would sit and eat the whole bowl in the course of an afternoon. Brown butter is good on lots of things like rice and chicken. Very comforting! 😉

Lovely idea! Obviously, the recipe has merit as it is, but, I was wondering if one could double the quantity of sauce and add some vegetable(s). What do you think would go nicely in the pie mixture alongside the sausages?
