Pig farmers Pie! I make my gravy like that, and know of some great sausages from the local farm shop…going to try this! 😋 Your little cat is so sweet, glad he/she got a bit of sausage 😊
Hey Adam! Hope you all are doing well. I just made this bangers and mash pie tonight. I am hooked like a marlin on Hemingway's bait. I did all the same steps and ingredients, with a few exceptions. I used Aldi's breakfast sausage and maple sausage (neither were King Charles fingers, more like Mini-Me), which made a nice slightly mapley-sweet flavor. I had a package of low sodium brown gravy that I used with an extra cup of water to let it render down a bit. Used the same herbs, but no worshtah sauce-I forgot it. I did not add cheese as the butter and milk in the potatoes were pretty good. I'm definitely making this again and again; and it was definitely delicious. Thank you so much for the video and recipe. Please take care and be safe! 😊💖🙏
There is a shortcut with caramelized onions, add a bit of water to the pan and put a lid on a few mins then take it off and continue cooking. It helps to release all the sugars from the onions and speeds up the process massively. I recommend seasoning towards the end too, to avoid over seasoning
@@Adam_Garratt I would have made that today but I'd already cooked a cottage pie and I cheated slightly by using Philadelphia garlic and herb cheese in the mash
Remember you can make more (a lot more) caramelised onions than you need - they freeze pretty well, and then when you need some in the next few weeks you can just get some out the freezer. This might also be a bit cheaper as you are using that 45 mins of cooking to make 2 or 3 lots of onions, rather than doing 45 mins of cooking each time just to make the onions.
@@Adam_Garratt similar..but biscuits are much more savory in flavor...especially southern biscuits. perfect for sausage... or ham...or just plain with butter and jam.
