No BS music, fast paced, showed me exactly what I needed to know. This is the way all how-to videos should be made. Keep up the good work.

One of the best descriptive videos I've watched of ANY of the automotive videos I've tuned into past years! As mentioned by others, no annoying music, very clear and informative without a bunch of "fluff" in it and very well spoken (not a lot of uhms in it)!
    Thank you young man!

use Mopar penetrating fluid to soak your jets in and spray in holes and let sit , carb cleaner and ultrasonic cleaner don't even come close to getting them as clean , it will blow your mind , trust me its a must try if working on carbs alot

When I got a rebuild kit, it came with a new needle and the holder,
How do I remove the holder? Or should I leave the old one in and just use a new needle?
You show the part I'm talking about at 12:13 of the video.
Do I have to remove the bowl, then main jet, then pop the main jet holder out from the top down?
    Thanks

  • @TheSponge945

Can you explain what you mean by performance parts added that require the adjustments to the needles and set points. This part seems vague. Why would the carb have these settings and what parts would make us have to change these? Bigger tires?

So me and my buddy just done all this. Put new jets in and float needle. But the float bowl is still bone dry and no gas coming out of the carburetor to the engine. The gas is on with no filter. What else could be stopped up? I was going to blow air into where the line hooks to the carb and hoping clear out the vein. Any advice?

My bike wasn’t idling before, so I cleaned the carb and now it idles great but whenever I give it throttle it kills instantly. I thought maybe it had something to do with the needle so when I took it back apart and inspected everything I installed the plunger/needle the same way you did but when I hit it with air the piston/plunger does not go up as yours did in the video. But it obviously goes up by hand. Any suggestions?

I have a 2007 Honda trx500 with electric shift option. Originally the bike would drive normal but would die at an idle due to a dirty carb. I had a friend clean the carb and jets which solved the idle issue but now the bike stalls out around 20 mph or when you press hard on the throttle. I purchased a rebuild kit and replaced all the jets, needle, air fuel adjustment and float plunger. This still didn’t solve the issue. I’ve also tried adjusting the air fuel screw which doesn’t help. I’m convinced at this point that the carb is flooding out because it actually takes off if you put the fuel to the off position but dies quickly when the fuel used up. My friend thinks it’s something electrical like the cdi but I’m guessing something with the carb as it worked fine before he took it apart. Any advice?

I’m sure it’s a little late now, but you can buy a carb rebuild kit at your local Honda dealer for around $25 and it includes all new screws (including the one you needed) along with all new parts/jets, etc.

@@MidNebraskaMotorsports @Mid Nebraska Motorsports I feel dumb, it was the plug, it would fire on starting fluid, but not on gas, first for me, at least the carb is clean as new now. haha..

if you could take a few minutes to help me out it would be much appreciated. I have a honda foreman 450es and i rebuilt the carb following your directions to the T. Heres the problem. when i put the carb back on it fired right up no problem and idles perfect. But when i give it gas it bogs down. if i pull the choke out and give it throttle it runs perfect. i adjusted the fuel screw as you said and made adjustments and literally nothing changes. I have no clue what the problem is. i have tested this with the air box on and off and it makes no difference. i also replaced the spark plug. no difference. im lost.
