Hey Barnesy, You are absolutely correct. That is exactly the symptoms of bad glow plugs. They are only used during cold starts to warm the air enough to allow compression ignition. 😁
Hey! In my Audi Q5 is indikation about glow plug module and what is that ? Glow plugs are changed to new once all 3 but still there is indikation on glow plug module. The 4 glow plug is more different also . Do you have any clue what would that be .
Not exactly sure what you are asking. Do you have glow plug codes & what are they, including the full description supplied on the scan tool? Have all been replaced? What are the resistances of them now? Is the relay working correctly? Is the glow plug light coming on the dash? Can you see the relay being activated in live data on the scan tool?
Can glow plugs throw up the dpf light? My dpf light has came on intermittently this week I've ran it twice decent runs between 2500/3000 and at times it's went off but then came back om no other issues such as limp mode etc It was off yesterday but took it to someone I know with a good code reader, nothing dpf related flagged up but 2 glow plugs and something to do with climate control did, reckon thats cause I've no had it regassed Dpf light came back on there so just wondering what it could be if a reader isn't bringing anything up?
It would be unusual for DPF related faults to be connected to glow plugs as they only work during cold conditions on start up. It would be best to get a quality scan tool for fault codes as well as live data.
@MiracleMAX I know someone who had a real good quality scan tool and he plugged it in but no dpf issues came up, the light was off at the time but has came on again and I'm panicking ha love the car and not in a postion for it to die, is there a separate scan tool for a dpf then or should a normal one bring it up? Just asked on another form and someone said the glow plugs are part of the regen process? As I say the tool the guy I knew used was a good quality one as used to work om cars himself so I thought that would've threw up something if dpf was acting up gonna run it to a garage tomorrow after work
@@martin494563 The glow plugs are not part of the regen process. I suggest looking at live data for soot accumulation as well as differential pressures
Hi, I have an issue on my Amarok when its cold. The vehicle has a poor acceleration when cold for approximately 1 to 2 minutes. It also has a noisy sound (sounds like an efficiency of oil), tappet like sound. After 2min it seems to driving normal. Idle is also normal from the initial start up. Could this be a sign of a bad glo plug ?
@@MiracleMAX I just measured the resistance and they all good. The four are ranging between 0R - 0.3R. I'm receiving my diagnostic device in the week. My Amarok seems to be driving fine now tho. The poor acceleration issue is gone. I will monitor it. Quite strange!
@@justinjacobs9439 Let us know how you go. Make sure you note any codes before clearing them. Do you use good quality fuel? It might be an idea to do an injector leak back test as well.
@@MiracleMAX I did some research and it seems to me the isssue I have is an injector knock. However, the problem only occurs in the morning for about 15min after that it drives okay. I'm driving the same bakkie as in the video. I was thinking to remove them and have them tested. Could one refurbish the injector or should I get new ones? I remember a guy told there are two types of innjector in some ROKS where you can refurbish one and the other not.
@@justinjacobs9439 There are either Piezo or Solenoid style of injector. What tests have you done to confirm the injector fault? Have you done a leak back test? What are the feedback values on the scan tool? I suggest carrying out some further tests before replacing the injectors. I personally always use new injectors.
@@AlbertMaritz-b7j The engine will go into limp mode to protect damage created from a fault. The codes you have include MAF, MAP & turbo boost. Is the MAF reading correctly? Is it clean? Are there any air leaks, split lines etc. Is the turbo solenoid & hoses OK. Is the MAP reading correctly? Are you able to check the readings in live data? Is the intercooler OK & not split? Is the air filter clean? Can you check for air leaks with a smoke machine? Is the intake system blocked with carbon? Is the turbo desired and actual readings the same? Is the turbo actuator moving correctly? Is there any mice damage to any wiring?
There is zero requirement to use anti seize in this application and if you do for whatever reason use anti seize, then torque must must be reduced by at least 25%

Drowned my Amorok today engine hydro locked never pulled the plugs on it yet so didn't really know how they came out but this helped me a lot cheers.
