I purchased this for my daughter, when I sent her off to begin her college education. When the water barely flowed, we tried to find a manual or anything on the internet to trouble shoot the problem. We found nothing in the manual whatsoever regarding the unreasonably slow flow of water. Then I found this video. What a very nice thing for you to do. This is a refreshing demonstration upon humanity, in that you took the time to help so many people who you don't even know and will never likely meet. Although our water still seems to flow slowly, this nevertheless was very helpful. Further, you made me feel better about our fellow man, of whom I recently lost much faith. Thank you for caring about your fellow man, and taking the time to do something so nice as this.

Thank you!!!! I cleaned the tank and lid with white vinegar and soaked the air inlet hose in a bowl of vinegar and FINALLY the mildew taste is gone. The inlet air hose was touching the plastic ledge sucking indust and mildew spores. Now I placed the inlet hose floating away from surfaces and the water is FINALLY normal. Primo did not answer emails or phone!!!! Thank you.
My dispenser is over 7 yrs old and in the past if I just reinserted the hoses and clips tightly back into the bottle and unit and it worked, but as time went by that fix didn't work any more. And then -- Voila! I discovered this video and the problem is now fixed and is running like new. Though my lid did not pop off completely, so I just did my best to seal it without opening it all the way. Thanks for sharing.
I've been dealing with this issue for a few weeks now, and haven't been able to find the problem. I watched your video, and in less than 1 minute, my Primo is fixed! I can't believe the company doesn't address this in their troubleshooting tips. It's such a simple fix! Thank you so much for posting this! :)
I’m about to attempt fixing mine. My mom and I have been trying to close the door properly, thinking that the sensor just thought the door wasn’t closed. After like the third time I’ve tried doing this, I investigated closer, and saw that it’s just not sucking up the water. I tried unplugging it and replugging it back in. Still didn’t work, so now I’m going to see if this is the issue. After that... Google can only get me so far, idk how this stuff works 😂😭 Fingers Crossed. Thank you for sharing!! You have no idea what a godsend you are for doing so, even if it doesn’t work for me, I’m sure you’ve helped so many others!
I have a Black and Decker water dispenser similar to this. It hasn't been working for weeks and I was out of ideas. Thanks to your video it works again! Thank you so much.
I "liked" this video even before knowing if it will work or not. With this recommendation, the engine now makes a sound whereas it didn't before. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much! it's frustrating not knowing what to find to do with a broken water dispenser. I am grateful to find this potential solution that I could try, thank you! My water dispenser is not even six months old, I lost the receipt, and I didn't know where to get it fixed. Thank you!
Video 9 years old and still valid. I assumed I had a bad pump because no water came out and the pump never came on. I never could get the top off my reservoir, there's some other nut with wires running into it on the top. I just left it off all night and it started working again. I left the cold water switch off and it's been almost a full day and the water is still freezing cold, must have been real froze up. Edit: I literally just saw another video where a guy had that same top like I did and his came right off. My guess is the tube that connects to it is frozen so it's stuck.
Wow this is a major design flaw. Peoples homes are getting damaged from this issue with wood floors, carpet, sub flooring and ceilings too if the water dispenser is upstairs! The white dome lid on mine randomly pops off causing the flow switch built into the top lid to not shut off. Just about all the water kept pumping through and with that top lid popping off it caused the silver tank to just overflow on the floor. Unbelievable! Email sent to primo. They need to recall all these bottom loading dispensers. Lucky my girlfriend was home when this happened and unplugged it. I now have torn up my carpeting and torn out the section of under carpet padding to hang it up and air dry.
Thanks for posting! Removed the lid(mine had plastic tabs holding it down) and found ice inside the bath. This indicates a problem with the thermostat. Unfortunately it is virtually impossible to access the thermostat due to preplanned obsolescence engineering, and there is no adjustment for temperature. This said, the only workaround I can come up with is to plug the unit into an appliance timer. This will limit the amount the unit runs and prevent ice from accumulating. Since unit pulls 6 amps, I will try and find a 10-15 amp timer.
Thats is what mine is doing... and to make things even "funnier" it started about a week after the 1 yr warranty was off.. and the thing is is about 3 week after the 1 yr mark from PURCHASE... however since we order this to be delivered i thing is not 1 yr after we actually got it .
Thanks for the video. Hose was kinked on mine unkinked at top of cooler and works now. Also my model had clips holding the lid down, maybe they've fixed the defect in newer models?
My dispenser stops lifting especially after bottle change. Unplugging and replugging with trial and error works but now it happens much more frequently. I’m thinking pump has gotten “weak”
Is it suppose to be frozen at the bottom of the can thing? I can’t take out that little plastic cover that goes inside the top lid comes off but the bottom top is hard to take out due to the ice at the bottom idk if that’s normal?
Please help i have a model 601144 ... i was gonna throw my dispenser away but i left it unplugged for the whole day no water came out n the pump wasnt sucking water it froze i plugged it back in in the morning it works perfectly but how do u take this top off mines really secured
I HV a primo bottom load. And I recently decided to drain the water from the back. Did all that cleaning solution flush it out thing. And guess what our water came out disgustingly dirty water. I repeated the cleaning steps so many times. So now with ur video I cn open it and see what I'm working with. Any sugg?
Have you guys have an issue with water dispensing so slow until the water pump works then the water flow is okay. We are having this issue with our Brio touchscreen water dispenser were it dispense a little amount of water but when the water pump started working and getting water from the 5g bottle the water flow is okay. Our water dispenser model is Brio Moderna CLBL720SC
This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.
Im having same issues. Too bad they dont advertise it on the box before im at evry fcn store. Finally jus paid $14 for a primo bottle and cut th bull. Your welcome Primo.
There is a floating water level switch built in that white part he lifted. Normally, when the water level drops, the switch would turn the water pump on then when the water level is high, the pump should turn off. The white and black wires seen in the picture operate rhe turn off switch...
if your can freezes up ,is because the temp sensor with 2 wires coming from silver can and going to the circuit board in the front is the problem!cant find any replacement part num and PRIMOis not any help either!
can anyone tell me an explain to me why does my Primo water dispenser water thing say that it's empty when it's got a full bottle in there of water I can open the door and push the button and then it will go off and then I have one green light on and then the red light just flashes I have been trying to figure this out the first day I got it it works really good I should have never bought it from the damn place where I bought it from I going to stay where I bought it from but I ain't you know but it look like it was in good shape and the first two weeks I got it and it works really good and then all the sudden it doesn't want to work but after I open the door and push the button the red light goes off and then the motor comes on and then it gets the water cold and then when that goes off the pop goes off then the light starts flashing the red light can anybody explain to me what's going on
Aloha. Its the sensor inside the tank. First part of the video where he shows that he is removing the tank lid, there is two (2) sensors that move up and down based on the water level. One of the sensors is for the pump, when the level drops. The other sensor is for the flashing LED, so when the water level drops, it alerts you that the bottle is empty or about to be empty.
Luis, a lot of times mine will lose it's siphon when the top comes loose. I have to take the tube that goes down into the bottle and manually fill it with water, put a full bottle in the unit, so the water in the tube doesn't just drain out. Then press the button on the front, that the door usually pushes, that activates the pump, and see if it starts to draw water up.
Well thanks for d video...but unfortunately it didn’t fix d problem so I disposed it ...dang d worst thing about it...I rarely used the dispenser...o well Tks for d video tho
can anyone tell me about my Primo water dispenser it has a full bottle of water in it but the red light keeps flashing on and off and then when I open the door and I push the button it turns off but then about 20 minutes later it comes back on the water will get cold before the red light comes on but then the water is room temperature
I open my exact unit not because of no-flow but due to contaminates floating in the water. When I got the top off, ours just like yours had a lose top cap over the chiller tank. There is gross mold build up everywhere. Can’t believe we’ve been drinking this for God only knows how long. This is a cheap and terrible product!
I have a Hamilton Beach water cooler dispenser I have three dispensers one for hot water one for Call Water and the water dispensers fine, the cold water dispenser comes out very very slow. Does this dispenser have filter?
Great video thanks a bunch! I got a good deal on a used one cause of this issue
Thank you for the video!!
What is the cylinder part called? I'm trying to get new one of those parts to fix mine instead of buying a whole new one.
Question: can a bottom loading water dispenser be used directly as a bottleless cooler?
My dispenser stops lifting especially after bottle change. Unplugging and replugging with trial and error works but now it happens much more frequently. I’m thinking pump has gotten “weak”
Thanks! My chill Chamber/can was a block of ice lol suspecting that may be a problem
Could yours have also frozen? How long did it sit before you opened it?
I opened it right away. There was no evidence of ice in the top chamber. This is a new problem, I've not seen it before.
Is it suppose to be frozen at the bottom of the can thing? I can’t take out that little plastic cover that goes inside the top lid comes off but the bottom top is hard to take out due to the ice at the bottom idk if that’s normal?
No, there should not be any ice in there.
Excellent! Thanks!
The bucket part where the water is in mine, is frozen solid. No water flow.
Same with mine. It just did this and is frozen solid. Did it work after or did you trash it?
thank you so much!! it worked

Worked for Me! Thanks!
Thanks.. this is so helpful
Thank you sir
Thanks! fixed it!!!!
Our unit keeps having a frozen chunk of ice in the can portion which then stops the flow of water. Why is this happening?
I haven't had a freezing problem with my dispenser. My suggestion would be to look at the control circuit and the temperature sensor.
Thanks that worked!
Thanks brother
do you have to buy special water bottle I can't get pump hose on my bottle

Our problem is too much water flow! It won’t stop pumping water and it overflows all over the floor until pulling the 110 outlet plug

That sounds like an issue with the probe. You can watch the video on their website for how to test: primowater.com/Support/
