  • I have finally gotten around to giving you guys an update on my shoulder. I am officially 3 months out from my labrum repair. I met with my surgeon for a check-up and filmed my updated PT routine. Let me know in the comments how your recovery is doing if you have recently gone through surgery!
    Until next time--
    Thanks for watching xx!!

Where did you feel your pain? I recently found out I have a deep labrum tear and a cyst but I feel constant pain in the back of my shoulder. Is that where you feel pain?

You: I don't know why you'd be watching this if you're about to go through hip surgery but it sucked, it was hell
    Me: 😅
Glad your shoulder is healing well though! Always makes a huge difference when you have a PT who knows you and you're able to joke around with them.

HAHAHA I'm sorry, I'm just being honest! In truth the first week is hell and then it does get easier. Are you going through hip surgery?

@@kimberleylynn5710 All good, I kinda know it's going to suck for a little bit haha. Still pre-op but in a few weeks I will be, yes! Just a bit of a different one than what you had. Was there anything that you thought was a "must have" for recovery?

I would say my top 2 things to help be the most comfortable were the ice machine they offer and something for your crutches. My surgeon suggested the Game Ready ice machine (which was an extra fee to rent) but it was 100% worth it for inflammation and pain relief. I was also on crutches for a month pre surgery and then a month post surgery so my mom got me a product called Crutch Critters to put on my crutches. They were very comfortable and machine washable so they were the perfect thing to help my underarms from getting a rash or sore. Other than that, you will probably be in bed/ on the couch for a lot of your recovery so make sure you have plenty of things to keep you occupied! Good luck with your surgery, and let me know if you have any more questions!!

What happened to your hip exactly? And before your shoulder surgery did you get any pain like in the lat or pectoralis area? I have an MRI in 2 weeks as I Belive I tore my labrum or rotator cuff😭

I tore the labrum in my hip and also has 2 impingements which required surgery. I had pain in my neck (almost like a pinched nerve feeling) and then also down my arm through my elbow to my hand which made my hand go numb, and then also in my back by my shoulder blade.

You should seek an opinion from your physician. Good luck!

It likely won't be as strong. Something like a Judo throw or a kick to the arm, shoulder area could set you back to square one or worse. Probably not worth it IMO but many will push it. Some get away with it- some don't. Weight the risk/reward. 6 months is probably a minimum time- provided your PT went well and it feels near 100%.
