Hi Lindsay, Just sitting here no one at home just me QUIET. Happy to find this, brings back memories of your Fridays. Love the painting. Never told you this but I used to live in Maine, I miss it beautiful, PA is my home, It is BEAUTIFUL TOO.
Definitely looks like up Maine, Vermont or New Hampshire! So many pictures I've taken have looks like this in each one. You are so talented! You are a fantastic teacher and make everyone feel like they can really do it. I've learned more from you than in any class I've taken! I appreciate you no matter now long your videos are. Please stop apologizing!
It would be nice to see the reference photo for something like this. Besides letting the viewer see what you are working from, it is also helpful for people, especially new painters, to see that you can change what you see in the photo, that you don't have to duplicate the photo.
This is a super lovely landscape that looks as though we can do it! Also your demonstration is so calming and the pace is perfect! I love your understanding that many of us may need a slower pace! You are a wonderful thoughtful teacher! Thank you very much.
To get reasonably straight lines I usually trace my finger along the edge with the pencil as steady as possible. Works great in woodworking and also on a sketchbook as long as the line is parralel to the edge of the paper.
Lindsay, thank you so much for all the techniques. Your trees and rocks turned out awesome. Like I have said before, I just Love to watch you paint. Always learn so many things.
Your paintings are very fresh and beautiful, and the use of colors is very positive, especially the explanation is very clear. When the weather is bad, I also try to paint like you, because I usually go out to paint when the weather is good, I like it. While traveling, painting and sketching, the feeling of happiness is made into a video, and the audience will like it.
I love this one so much. Loved the layed back easy going feel. I worked on this over two days on and off it was so much fun. I hope you do more like this.
Pretty landscape, Mrs Weirich! This made me really want to get my watercolours out - I haven't used them in some months as I've been doing more mixed-media but I really miss them now, seeing this lol!
Awesome painting, Lindsay! Excellent teaching, as always. I tried to tell you when you dropped the water on the mountain. Good save though!😊 I love those trees and rocks in the foreground.
Thank you so much Lindsay. you make it look so easy. I tried. didnt get the salt effect coz my paint dried too fast. enjoyed the tutorial as always. amazing teacher! :)
Thank you for sharing! I liked the way you scratched the rocks, they became so much more like real rocks! At the end, I suddenly saw that the mixture of colours on your palette seem to make a landscape all on their own! :))
Your brush control is AMAZING...you never seem to go over the line! Thanks for yet another amazing beginner tutorial, in the realistic style...janis...notice you have very few earth colours in your palette...just the burnt sienna and yellow ochre...any reason for that?
I'm not positive but wonder if the reference photo is from Alpine, Wyoming. It's beautiful. If so, it's my neck of the woods. Love it. Thanks for what you do......... Oh my! I looked closer and the picture is out of Germany. Interesting how all around the world you can see places that look like home. I rarely travel and likely never will, but I can dream. Thanks again.
The pace at which I teach it and how I break it down, if it was advanced I'd whip through it quicker with less explanation:), just click the gear and speed me up if you are advanced:) I'd probably add more detail for an advanced tutorial as well. I hope you enjoyed it in any event:)
Hi Lindsay, thank you so much for providing these lessons to us for free! This is so beautiful. I was wondering if you could recommend a good quality cellulose paper that is reasonably priced? I have only ever used ultra cheap paper that, as you say, looks like tractor went over it 😂 i can't afford 100% cotton paper at the moment as I am a student. TIA x
@@thefrugalcrafter thank you. I am in Australia so it can be hard to find things cheapish here. I looked at the bee paper and it is actually cheaper then the windpower. It is $38 AUD which is around $20 USD. And that includes shipping. Thanks for the reccomendation. I usually paint in 9x6 anyway. 💕
Wow. I love it!!!!! Cant wait to try it.. thank you. Like to ask a question.... I want to buy about 14 tubes of mgram watercolors. What colors should I buy? If it's too much trouble, that's okay😁
they are my faves, I really like their cadmium colors (reds and yellows, supurb!) also... Permanent Alizarin Crimson (not regular AC) Sap green Quin Rose Ultramarine Yellow ochre Napthol red (this is unusual red in watercolor but transparent, clean and neutral, neither warm or cool, a must have in this line!) Pthalo blue Burnt sienna Honestly you can't go wrong...
Recovering from Covid and enjoying your videos. Oh thank you! Love this one!
Thanks!
Second time watching this video. It's so easy to watch and relax at the same time. Tfs.

Someday I want you to make a head of cauliflower completely out of watercolor cauliflowers! I love your fix. It really added so much. Thanks.
Love this picture

Looks a little like Oregon too. So beautiful. Thanks for this, easy instructions for this beginner. A from Oregon
Love watching and learning so much from your tutorials. Maine is beautiful I have lived here for 40 yrs.
42 years for me:)
Love your painting style , easy to follow.
Thanks Lindsay. I really enjoyed the slower pace of this video. Your teaching helped take the mystery out of painting rocks 🤔
This is such a wonderful painting! I have learned so much from this tutorial! The depth is just amazing! Thanks so much Lindsay! 😊❤
I love this-nature is awesome. Not sure I can do something this complex but I am going to try. Thanks for sharing

That was very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to do these tutorials for us.
I loved this! All the texture elements were great. Still gotta work on my fan brush technique.

Those are the only two I use typically. I like to mix my neutrals from other colors I'm using.
Great tutorial Lindsay! Thank you!

Try Strathmore windpower. Keep in mind the bee cotton paper, you get a 50 pack for $15 on Amazon 6"×9" in size

Honestly you can't go wrong...
Lindsay are the brushes your using good for gouache and acrylic ? or too soft for acrylic?
These are a bit soft. Go for shorter hair synthetic flats and filburts for acrylics and gouache.
Actually, do you have any video’s on acrylic sky and cloud painting?
I have some oils, I don't think I have any acrylics
tried n failed :(
