...that sounds miserable. Why would you want to give up even more of your life to working all day? It's not a race, enjoy the carefree life as much as you can, travel, go out with friends, make mistakes. No one says "I'm glad I grew up so fast". It's always "I wish I DIDNT grow up so fast"
It’s okay, you got time; you’re not alone I’m 23 and still taking classes to find out what I’m good at. Stay focused, don’t let negativity get to you, and focus on your strengths and talent. You got this. 😉
I know many students who graduated at 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 40 etc. Some people start college later in life for many reasons. Some take more than the average 4 years to get an undergrad because they change majors or they double majors. Take your time and make sure you choose what's right for you. There's no age limit to get your degree.
This is not too uncommon. My sister will be graduating college at 19-years-old because of a program that allowed her to take college classes while in high school.
@RaySmith-zg7od in the U.S some high schools have extra course options starting at 10th to 12th grade. So after u graduate high school you can have an associates degree or technical certification Edit: my son will be taking online courses starting in 9th grade so when he graduates high school he'll also have a bachelors. I won't have him in student loan debt.
I hope she takes some time out and goes travelling or something. I'm sure she enjoyed doing all that extra work but there's more to life than that. Your 20s go by quite quickly once you start working full time. It's actually one of the biggest parts of your life for personal growth,so getting out there ,socialising , seeing the world , making time for you, spending time alone....it's all crucial. Congrats to her though for such an amazing achievement 👏
I have to give props to people who take school seriously at a young age. I know that I didn't take school seriously when I was younger although I wish I would have. As for me, I was a little bit late on graduating college having graduated at 26 (almost 27). But as the saying goes, better late than never. I just graduated back in December and will be walking the graduation stage next month.
Don’t feel bad, I took school seriously however still graduated at 28 because I was waitlisted so much for nursing school. I was even invited to my 10 year high school reunion at age 28 lmao! I was so embarrassed knowing I was still in school, so I didn’t go. Plus I lived in another city. Anyways my goal was to graduate before 30 and I did.
It is actually not uncommon for 18-year-olds to graduate college. Literally millions of 14-year-olds, 16-year-olds, and 17-year-olds also graduated college.
This is true. They report every few years about these type of people. I am actually one of them. I did it in 1999 at 18 years old from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. I also majored in Accounting and Management. Although it's not uncommon, it's still a great accomplishment!! I'm happy for her!! Edit: my year, I actually graduated in 1999.
I had a classmate that took a years worth of college courses in highschool so by the time she started at the community college she was starting her "second" year of college already. I wanted to take college courses but my guidance counselor told me i had to be in the top half of my class to do so. Years later found out that wasn't true at all. I tried college wasn't for me. My life is pretty good with out having a college degree.
I’m proud of this girl. This shows that you can accomplish anything at just a young age. Just yesterday, I also graduated college with an associates degree at 18 years old. Haven’t even got my high school diploma yet, which I will be getting later on this week.
My high school class of 2022’s Valedictorian graduated with a Bachelor’s degree as well when she graduated from high school. Wish they made people more aware of available college courses in high school.
Congrats to you Madison (at the young age) good for you and you'll a first generation graduate of your family I think. Many opportunities await for you. Repeat, congrats!!!
This is what I’m talking about. Her mother can proudly say. “She’s innocent and would never hurt nobody, she went to college, she’s a genius, she’s a genius!” Not like those idiot crazies who get drunk and try to run over their boyfriends.
This isn't actually uncommon. Many IB, AP, and Honors students take College courses throughout their high school years. IB students is the most rigorous of the 3 and the only one that starts at the age of just 5 years old!
Unfortunately, not the case in Australia we do have IB but not AP but university here don't take those credits unless you take class at specific university for extension subjects during highschool but most people take one or two, so our country need to step up:(
Nothing new..... Graduated High School with 415/250 credit and went straight to Humboldt State University at 17. Just take extra classes and summer school you'll be fine.
My daughter is 10 and she’s gonna be 9th grade next open school.. she also does baseball, soccer , wrestling, judo, ballet, she play flute in a highschool bands too.
Good for her. Im in 12th grade and my school didnt allow me to take any AP classes until my last year of high-school since Admin of my grade kept directing me towards getting a Fast Food jobs / minimum wage jobs instead of doing scholarships. Cant wait to graduate next month and to start the grind for my VDA in September
She seems very well-rounded. Also she clearly has a mentor (and possible job sponsor) in her career field of choice. This is going to work out well for her but this trajectory isn’t for everyone. Kids can still pursue technical school and get a high paying job at a young age as a tradesman. Regardless, bravo!
nah happy for her but college is suppose to be a fun, once in a life time opportunity in your life as a young adult. I had so much fun undergrad with friends that i wouldn’t change to hurry and get a job. you will work for the rest of your life, don’t need to rush
My 18-year twins already have a 2-year Associates Degree. We homeschool, and instead of doing high-school level work, they decided to step it up a notch and just complete college-level courses which give you High School credit too. It's called a Dual-enrollment programm, and plenty of colleges do it. It's kind of sad to me more kids aren't encouraged to do this and get a jump start on life, or just take a breather before starting full-time work.
Im 16 rn. I am graduating highschool in the beginning of june (few more weeks yay!) and by the time this summer semester ends, I will have earned a certificate in business administration @ 16. In april/may of next year, I will have a diploma and associates degree @ 17 years old. Its not imposible. Talk to your high school guidence counsler, if your 14/15, theres programs that allow you to do this, take the oppurtunity, its awesome
My son excel in school, at the age of 11yo his teacher recommend us to enroll him asscociates in college but we decline because he don’t want to. He want to enjoy being a kid with his friends 😊
Wow what an achievement I had gone through this and I loved this moment when it happened to me enjoy the time u graduate u won't get to experience it again
I agree 100% with this. If your kid after 8th or 10th grade can start college they would be way better off then wasting their time in the public school system. College is a way better learning atmosphere then a high school. Plus you can pick classes that can actually make you employable.
It isn't uncommon, the local high schools here actually have all their classes setup as dual credit, all graduates have an accociates degree when they graduate high school.
I don't understand why this makes news? I mean kudos to her for all that she has done but many people her age and younger complete college. I currently have a friend who's working on her bachelors degree and is 15 years old. More common than you think
