Great interview and a blast from my past. Saw Girlschool once, when they opened for Deep Purple at the Spectrum in Philadelphia back in 1985. Always enjoyed their music, then & now. Great to see them still recording and touring in 2023.
That was great! I saw them twice when I was living in the UK around 1988 or so, and they were one of the best live rock bands out there. Great interview! Thanks!
I saw Girlschool at Cardi's rock club in Beaumont, Tx in 1983. It was the Play Dirty tour. Highlight was I got a kiss from Gil Weston! 😊
That would be a highlight indeed.
Lucky you , that was a great line up and time for Girlschool.
If the 45-single was still the way to promote new music the 1-2 punch of PARTY & UP TO NO GOOD would make Girlschool famous all over again.
Their label couldn't, or didn't try, to get them any airplay in the US.
Got my ticket for Hell's Heroes!
Super interesting. Will buy the new album.
Kathy Valentine wasn't in Girlschool. She played in Painted Lady a few weeks, the covers band fronted by Kim & Enid. Besides Lemmy, Gerry Bron was impressed by Girlschool's stage presence / musicianship, offering them a recording contract, support slot on the Overkill tour.
I saw girls school in Cleveland Ohio live and just about went nuts ! They were great!!
If it was in the '82/'83-era with Kelly, I was there, too, at the old 24th St. Agora. Great show!
I had a big crush on Kim back in the 80's. I think I still do.
The Runaways were around for 3 years before Girlschool started.
But the runaways didn't have good songs and we're basically a garage band.
@@alexrossi4464 In my opinion they had great songs. And being a garage band still makes you a band.
@@BFJSProductions I completely disagree. Garage bands haven't learned to write or play yet, they are amateurs. The 🎶 music was not great, neither were the songs,. I Don't even know any sings by them except ( cherry 🍒 bomb), and that's not very good. Anyways, they did pave the way and they did create something new. And I do like Lita Ford, Rock goddess, girls cool, warlock/ doro etc. but the runaways, can't listen to it.
@@alexrossi4464 To each their own.
Why did it switch to a photo of Kim instead of the live feed after the first 5 minutes?
cause the video failed
❤❤❤
What about a Withering Scorn interview?
What ever happened to Enid Williams your Original bassist?????
They released her in January 2019.
lita ford please !!!
I wonder what her thoughts are about the number of women in the metal scene now.
Love Girlschool! But what’s up with those guys??? Yuck
