@@tiger1044I've heard about the Grim Reaper many times. What I don't understand is that for those who have died and have met him,how was it possible for someone from the dead to tell someone from the living about the Grim Reaper and besides what difference would it make if we all have to meet him or her anyway?

Simonize41
I met him on the "Sacrifice" tour, in Dallas, Texas.
It was snowing and windy. The club was supposed to open at 7:30, but they were having trouble with the sound system.
We were finally let in at 11. The club rushed through the opening acts, and Motorhead took the stage at 12:10
They played until 1:45. Then Lemmy announced "We're gonna take a short break here, then we're gonna come back and thank you for waiting in the fucking cold to see us"
The boys took a 20 minute (working) break, during which they met fans, and autographed merchandise.
Motorhead retook the stage just after 2am, and played until 3:40.
That's REAL class, not the pretentious bullshit he railed against.
And yes, sorely missed. Hard to believe that it's been almost 2 years.
MOTORHEAD FOREVER

you can see prescription drugs, opiates in his eyes. thats what you can

I mean can you believe this guy?! How cool is Lemmy: he said he gave up Jack and coke because the sugar was bad for him! He's diabetic and kept drinking it for 10 yaers after his diagnosis. Talk about Black Humor. And I was rolling on the floor when he said, " ..ahh that's good orange juice..!" except for the orange taste! So sharp even as he was dying :)
Fucking true!
Hearing Lemmy say "40 year's is a joke, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now" somehow gives me peace getting older and being terrified of it ending myself because life starts and ends way too fast and I love living and Lemmy damn sure did too and it shows in every interview. Man's Man

YUP
Not everyone gets to live a reasonably trouble free long life like Lemmy. For every "Lemmy" that "gets away with it" there are about 20 people who go to an early grave. And its not that they were "weak" or that Lemmy was a "hard man" with special super human powers.....its down to just plain good fortune and luck which eventually ran out for Lemmy at 70 which is not too old per se. I lived a very hard and destructive lifestyle myself and its far from respect that I got. The people who are close to you might have a different take on that kind of a lifestyle because I was never there for people and caused them an awful lot of hassle when I was out too busy partying all the time. I also inflicted an awful lot of worry and fear on them when I nearly died pretty young as a result...had open heart surgery at just 53. That don't deserve respect.....that deserves a good kick up the arse which I got. What deserves respect is that I got responsible afterwards and cleaned up my act so that I am fully present for the people that I love now and to see that its not all about me.
@@patrickokeeffe4787Hey...He even said it was luck. But the world needed a Lemmy (the rock n roll music) and he played the role %100. Gave it his all. Give him credit.
@@Warriors2022... Never knocked his music...actually really love a lot of it and seen them live in the Academy Dublin. Just not delusional to think that he was a tough nut because he drank a bottle of Jack Daniels a day. Quite the opposite really....a tough person to me is a person who meets reality and its adversity everyday in their sober senses and dont need to escape into a bottle everyday. Been there and wore the tee-shirt. But as I said love the music and not knocking that....just this false hard man image because he could shift his drink or drugs....its all bollocks.
If only I had the opportunity to thank Lemmy for this interview. I miss him dearly.

The only last interview more soul crushing than this is Frank Zappas final interview he gave literally from his death bed hours before dying .
The world is a shitter place without this man.....
favourite Lemmy quote "Luckily I managed to avoid ever having to do the really devastating things in life...like getting a job"...saw him on Charing Cross Road once outside Henry Pordes Bookshop...he gave me a cursory once over as a greeting of sorts...then was delivering to Rosemary Branch pub in Islington got friendly with this old rocker dude...turns out was Wurzl!
He did exceptionally well to reach 70 years considering the amount of JD he put away; he had a great time though and was certainly more concerned with living wide than living long. He seemed very down to earth for a rock star, his wit was razor sharp and he was a very articulate/intelligent guy. RIP Lemmy, you legend.
Shit....not just JD
A true fucking legend! Underneath that iconic hat was this👑
Amazing that he didn’t know he was dying at this point. Dude held his head up all the way to the end. Long live LEMMY!
I'm sure he did
Sure he did- are you kidding me? He knew he had cancer. You can see it in his eyes. He knew he had a great run that was winding down.
The official story is he was diagnosed 2 days before his death. However, it was pretty obvious long before that. He received a lifetime award for services to bass in November 2015 and looked incredibly frail then.
No one gets out of this world alive.
When he laughs he looks young again. He always said, that the most important thing in life is to keep your sense of humor... I think we all love his way to smile, so heartwarming, wise and ironic. I have to cry a lot about him these days, but I also think, that it is better he left at the age of 70 and after a great life without any compromises instead of suffering from pain and the fact not to be able to live in the way he wanted to. But I always have to admit: He changed the life of so many people and I am so f***ing greatful! I feel happy for all of you who had the pleasure to meet him. Legends never die!!!

The thought of Lemmy at the poker machine at the Rainbow or on stage murdering ears was such a great feeling. This Man Was Great. He will live forever.
I did an interview with Lemmy back in late 1972 for my university radio station. He was the "new guy" in Hawkwind and was chosen to put up with my inexperience. He did it gladly and we drank a bottle of wine together. One of the highlights of my life along with meeting Queen. I was terribly sad when he passed away.
What a fantastic story, thank you
After all these years, I FINALLY got to see Motorhead while thy were on their American Tour {September 2015}. He only had three months to live and looked it too when I saw him. Very little if any of the old energy that Lemmy was known for, but I could understand, I think we all knew this would be the last time we would see him. The fact that he took the stage at all was amazing. Sadly missed, Phil Taylor too. Now I hear Eddie Clark is in the final stages of lung disease and will no longer tour or record. All my favorite rockers are going away. Sad.
My friend saw that final tour and he said it was hard to watch. Lemmy was struggling
