My wife died, I just broke up, got divorced or they’re lonely. How does any of that make wanting to meet up with an underage kid excusable? He and others like him don’t just wake up one day and decide to do this, it’s always been there, they’ve just hidden it for obvious reasons.
Or they have done it before and just haven’t been caught.

Detective Reeds is a skillful interrogator. Her almost monotonous voice made Westwood feel at ease so he was spilling the beans without much hesitation.
Jim Rauch interrogation wouldve been much more SHOCKING and INFORMATIVE

My husband just retired as a CO (Corrections Officer) after 34+ years, five years spent on the s*x crimes unit. Let's just say that law enforcement & corrections officers that deal with these predators and have children of their own ... pull them in a lot tighter!

This, folks, is why you don't talk to cops, even if you think you've done nothing wrong. He basically confessed to the crime, without a lawyer present, handing them a conviction on a silver platter.
I'm thinking that 99.99% of sentient adults know this guy has broken the law, including him. The officer is reading from his chats what he said and intended to do with a 13 year old girl.

I've listened to this before, and I enjoy it, but the male cop isn't very smart.
Some of these people drive long distances. In other words, it's so uncommon for a minor to invite them, they are willing to drive multiple hours when it does happen. Even then it's a sting.
