YES I GET IT, IT'S OMASHU. NOT BA SING SE. FORGIVE ME O PERFECT ONES FOR I HAVE FORGOTTEN LORE FROM AGES PAST. *BOWS*
Okay, NGL, I just opened this vid and the first thing I saw was this comment. I got a good laugh here. Love the energy. Looking forward to watching your reaction :)
Not remembering the city names? MAY YOU NEVER RISE FROM THE ASHES OF YOUR SHAME AND HUMILIATION.
Your fears are the same as mine and many others. Please let sokka be funny. Please let Aang have that whimsical nature. Please capture and showcase the characters/growth across the entire spectrum! Please do justice to the original writing/heart and characters! Otherwise, it's just money on cgi/set designs/costumes...aka a higher budget M. Night. I think most fans have this, "PTSD."
If you rant about "Everything, everywhere all at once" too, you might as well be a female version of me... or I'a guy version of you...
...You are forgiven. =x= *Bows in return* :P
i mean that aang smile while petting momo is giving energy already
Monk Gyatso was the person that spoke those lines.
YES! ty
"Never forget who you are" reminds me of what Ursa said to Zuko before she left
"Never forget who you are" reminds me of what Ursa said to Zuko before she left
@@chrisponce1374yes that's right.
I think that the "Never Forget who you are line is" Roku
Good on Daniel Dae Kim for booking the role of The Fire Lord. For those that don't know, he voiced the Earth General ("I don't see glowing") in TLA and he voiced Hiroshi Sato in Korra.
BRUH that is sooooooo dope!!! He did such a good job as a voice actor, and I've only heard good things about him as an actor in general, this gives me so much hype bro. OMG!!!!!!!!
I was impressed with the CGI, what little of it that we saw. It looks like their not skimping budget-wise there, which would have been easy to do. I wanna see what Appa’s face looks like. Also agreed, I hope they didn’t exclude the humor. I’m excited for it, looks good!
I mean… you _saw_ the cabbage cart in that first shot or Omashu, didn’t you?
It has been reported each episode had a $15 million budget, coming to a total of $120 million for the first season.
Netflix, upload your trailers in 4K, 1080p looks awful on TVs!
I think you got it with the voice being Monk Gyatso; Aang's teacher from the air temple. And I remember seeing footage from the stunt trainer doing work with the actress of toph and the martial arts/choreo looks super solid.
Toph hasn’t been cast, she’s in season 2
@@jakekayden4061 My bad, seems they just found a young martial artist for this test footage

Why are people forgetting that some kids will age fast. You cast them at certain age so they will age into the show if there are multiple seasons. That's the biggest problem with some kid shows. Aging/growth.
This looks absolutely Incredible! I loved Avatar The Last Airbender so I’m super excited and interested to see how this live action adaptation goes! Also so excited for Arcane Season 2! February 22nd and November 2024!!! Can’t come soon enough! 😆🙌🏻
I'm so excited for this. It comes out on my birthday too! I've just been watching lots of trailer reactions for this since I watched it. I'm just so excited. I love your makeup btw.
I really don't mind Azula's casting tbh i think she looks accurate for her age. Plus this is probably only flashbacks this season, by the time S2 comes out she'll probably grow into the role even more. Also as long as her voice is good it really doesn't matter, her voice is what sells it not the looks.
As for the characters as a whole, I wouldn't mind if they went a SLIGHTLY darker route this show as long as the characters maintain their personalities
I just hope the acting itself is good, I mean the body language and movements seem great here but we haven't heard any actual acting and voices so we'll see in future trailers.
I agree, I always Azula looked good, but I wished that she had lipstick lol.
Always thought*
I can’t get over how the shot of Appa looks so much like they are riding on Falkor from The NeverEnding Story. And I don’t know how to feel about it
This trailer was EVERYTHING. Hopefully the actual show is as good as this trailer.
Meh. Good casting, good atmosphere, but bad cgi and vfx were very noticeable.
@@thecatch6299 you got some confusingly high expectations then 😂
@@thecatch6299where’s the bad CGI??
@@thecatch6299 I might be skeptical but please time stamp me the bad CGI. The CGI is the last thing I’d critique here if anything.
@@corrinflakes9659 the part I actually have a problem with is two of the three flying sequences , when Aang is briefly on his glider, and when they are all on appa and the camera is looking straight down on them. Idk it’s just not believable
It's comforting to know that how ever it turns out, it can't be worse than ...cough cough... 'the film that shall not be named'. I recently tried to rewatch it for a laugh on my second monitor while gaming, and I couldn't even handle the pain.
I feel you, bro.
I just hope they use the same music, like the few ref of the white lotus when iroh & zuko meet a white lotus member in the Desert episode or when team avatar are given the white lotus token at the end of an ep those little music sounds, is a must. and i hope they just took their time on the earth kingdom arc since it was my favorite to watch.
11:25 "We feel burned from the film that shall not be named"
Has the same name as both shows
Looks so perfect
azula will probably be good at least. best advice i ever heard about casting was "cast for performance not look." you're best off casting whoever will give the best performance. even in avatar, where they do kind of want different factions to have features that correlate to real-world mythologies or histories, this azula looks well enough like cartoon azula that it doesn't break the reality. it'll be fine.
judging from a lot of choices i see made with other casting (a comedian as iroh, letting ozai look younger to cast a very intimidating physical actor, casting an indie drama actor as katara, the way they photograph the actors to showcase their micro-expressions, the way the costumes are kept simple and accentuate the faces) this looks like a creative team that thinks hard about and takes care of actors. looks very promising.
I have hope, and are so exited! This teaser was INSANE, and it was only a teaser
The actor for zuko is a professional martial artist btw
and the name of the person you are talking about who you think is doing the voice is monk gyatso, and im guessing its him aswell seanse it gives the feeling that he is talking to and teaching Aang
"Slow moving rock" hehe this was a awesome analysis. I love the description of the glamor shots. As far as the looks tho. This Aang and The movies Aang look the best. But I'm also looking to see the comedy hehe.
Used to watch the cartoon of avatar, the last Airbender. It was pretty good
I think this trailer is fantastic. It did it’s job to hype me up. I will be careful with the end result, but I do like the casting.
@12:54 It was confirmed that what we are seeing here is just book 1, books 2 and 3 are currently being worked on (or will be worked on at some point). We will likely have three seasons of ATLA like the original one.
i think it's roku's voice i love this so much ive watched this trailer about 10 times at this point
I miss your reactions and videos 😢 glad to see you back
THE FIRE IN AZULA'S EYES!
I think that city was Omashu with King Bumi
This looks pretty good to me. So I'm excited for this hopefully Aang will be silly but serious when he needs to and hopefully Sokka will be just as silly and the strategist that he is I wonder how episodes are gonna be in the first season??
I think 8 or 9 but hour for each
I really never got into this show. But I like watching your reaction to things, it's always cool to see fans react to things, they love. So keep it up, content is enjoyable.
watch the show. watch all of it.
@@rhian6459 we will see.
@@NosajTtimmedWorld nononono start right now :(
avatar is a requirement. only those who have seen it know the truth. it is crucial to your life.
@@rhian6459 🤣 I get what your saying, I will try to look into it on my day off.
I am excited for this!!
Actually, that city is Omashu, not Ba Sing Se.
I also named my calico cat Suki after the character, because she had a "painted face" due to the calico pattern!
Wow
"are we gonna see Bumi?" Shot of Umashu "is this ba sing se?" bruh
Roku is the one giving the intro I believe
Pretty sure it's Monk Gyatso talking.
Here's Albert Kim's (the showrunner) charcter overviews, if you're worried about characterization. Personally, I'm not.
AANG: a fearless and fun-loving twelve-year-old who just happens to be the Avatar, master of all four elements and the keeper of balance and peace in the world. An airbending prodigy, Aang is a reluctant hero, struggling to deal with the burden of his duties while still holding on to his adventurous and playful nature.
KATARA: a determined and hopeful waterbender, the last in her small village. Though only fourteen, she’s already endured great personal tragedy, which has held her back from rising to her true potential, though it’s never dimmed her warm and caring spirit.
SOKKA: Katara’s sardonic and resourceful 16-year-old brother. Outwardly confident, even brash, he takes his responsibility as the leader of his tribe seriously, despite his inner doubts over his warrior skills… doubts that he masks with his wit and deadpan sense of humor.
ZUKO: a skilled firebender and the intense and guarded Crown Prince of the Fire Nation. Currently roaming the world in exile, he’s on an obsessive quest to capture the Avatar because he believes that is the only way to reclaim his life and live up to the demands of his cruel and controlling father, the Fire Lord.
Looks polished for sure, but we've had so many remakes fall far short of the original so I'm not getting super excited until we see more; it's cool though it's in February so we won't have to wait very long to see.
I just look up Azula on the Twitter she looks way better. Looks as good as One Piece.
If this is a good show we'll see a lot more from it before February. Netflix loves their media tours as well, which if they do that will be a couch of young kids all acting like Mark Ruffalo, it would be hilarious :). If this actually turns into a show with 3 seasons, they will have the same or even more time than the original series had to tell the story so it might even be expanded in some ways. The biggest unavoidable change for me though is that Ang will be 17+ by the time they record Book 3 and not 12, which will be a big big change for the ending IMO.
Not a lot shown but it's definitely looking good so far.
Really cute how youve been including your baby in your content lol
8:55 the actress that plays azula is 21
Oh yes, new Avatar The Last Airbender Netflix series will be good and incredible in 2024, I can't wait to see new live action series not 2010 movie next year. Avatar The Last Airbender 2024 is way much better than The Last Airbender 2010 I'm so glad...😄😁😆
My hopes are tempered, but this trailer is hype AF, it's hard to not be optimistic.
The person talking was confirmed to be Monk Gyatso
Cameron will probably sue as he plans on a "Avatar: the Way of Air" or some nonsense.
My name is Ong and I am the Ovatar
That’s Omashu, not Ba Sing Se
Forgot they are doing a live action adaptation of avatar.
Can I start a petition for you to get a pixie haircut?!
So, at first, the shot of Azula didn't make sense at all. Then I realized that it's probably from the Agni Kai flashback, which then fits perfectly. Also, the
narrator could be either Gyatso talking to Aang or Iroh talking to Zuko.
I don’t think it’s ba sing se, it’s omoshu
Played TOTK yet?
She played and beat it on Twitch
@@yang6642 Damn it I missed it!!!
Narrator is Avatar Roku
Also another I was thinking! Considering we see him flying to the island! Guess we'll have to find out!
Its beautiful 🥹
You missed the "my cabbages" guy 😂
He was in the Omashu gate opening on the Bottom right 😂
It's awful how Netflix treated the original creators of the show, promising to work together on it but breaking that promise so bad that the original creators had to leave the project saying they did not want to associate with that work whatsoever, not only that but the actor for Sokka lying about his race to get the part is also pretty bad, this is all a very simplified retelling of all that happened so if you wanna understand all of it you can look it all up, but yea for those reasons I am not a fan of this show from Netflix and definitely don't want to be watching or supporting it
Then dont watch it, simple as that. Dont go around spreading your negativity trying to discourage others from watching. I have been following this show production since 2018. All you have spewed is basically popular headlines without knowing the actual background, you obviously didn't do your research and jumping on the bandwagon of "the original creators left". First of all they never said they where treated poorly, ive looked into it and the creative differences where basically them wanting to change things but netflix wanted to stay more faithful, netflix obvious had to make some changes in order for it to be more grounded and realistic for example, increasing the time of the commet to happen in a few years vs the few months Aang had to prepare. The actors will grow older so the time skip will make more sense. We dont know what happened behind the scenes, but dont you find it suspicious that the creators left and then a few months later they announced "avatar studios"? Hmmm seems like they got a better deal elsewhere. The creators are more for animation vs live action its a whole different ball park. If you research further, they have actually gone back to the live action and helped out. They actually wrote two of the episodes and have since then provided netflix with their blessing. The whole sokka thing was ridiculous, and i find it dumb af that people are actually fighting over the percentage of someone ethnicity, the actor still a minority and looks like sokka. What is the problem? The whole point of acting is becoming someone else. If you dont want to watch it, that's fine. But dont spread misinformation.
You're a better azula than you give yourself credit for 😂
