I'm really excited for Toph in season 2, but the Azula actress too from that one quick shot of her, I think they're gonna do something different with her, introduce her earlier, and have the actress deliver a more low key, subtle performance, instead of the sometimes crazy and over the top Azula we know, and I'm all here for it. I'd love them to task risks, do new stuff, darker stuff, more mature stuff, more juicy stuff, with the older actors who aren't little kids in real life, not with Aang and Toph, cause it's not a cartoon here. Not saying it should be GOT levels of violence and sexual tension, but you can still do some stuff, like not cutting away, using a little more blood, do some more flirting and kissing, that stuff, also cause most who watch it are the original fans, who are adults now.
If this is a faithful adaptation, how could it be better than the original? If it is not better than the original...why not re-watch the original? I am not sure "live action" justifies the existence of this show all by itself. The best they can hope to do is make a "pretty good" adaptation, the special effects for which will look worse and worse as technology improves. Animation, however, is closer to timeless.

ATLA is probably my favourite show (and maybe even piece of media in general??) of all time, so I'm... cautiously optimistic. I tend to be more charitable toward adaptations than most if they can stand on their own and capture the spirit of the source material - and this trailer, at least, gives me the impression that this is going to be an adaptation that WORKS.
ATLA is one of the best animated stories I have ever seen. I fell in love with the show after 3 episodes and remember driving an hour to get to a house with Nickelodeon to see the finale. I am excited to see this adaptation, I want to see where they modify the story.
As a fan of the original from childhood I am jumping with excitement. Everything looks a thousand times better and the Kyoshi warriors, Appa, Momo, and the updated score were definitely my favorite parts 😍💗🌊⚡️
I was genuinely amazed when I saw the live action trailer. When the OG music hit, that's when it truly sunk in that this is Avatar! But the live action aspect show just how young the characters were and how insane it is that kids that young dealt with the whole fire lord war
I think Suki and the Kyoshi warriors look amazing! I was really skeptical but I think it'll be pretty watchable. I'm excited. Also thanks for your amazing work as Toph! Love you sm! ❤️
I'm so excited to find your channel. Toph was by far my favorite character in the original series. Thank you for being such an excellent actor. I hope the new show is good and hopefully they cast someone close to as good as you were to play Toph.
As someone that not only grew up with the original series and loving Toph because of her humor, sass, and sarcasm, and rewatching the series almost yearly because I still love it so much, I am EXTREMELY excited to see how this turns out. I was disappointed with the movie, but this already looks and sounds a million times better. Can't wait to see what they do with the entire cast. Iroh will always be my favorite (for obvious reasons) but Toph is the extremely close second.
NO WAY! The legend who voiced toph reacting to the trailer for the new live action series?! I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS SOMETHING I WANTED TO SEE UNTIL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤩🥹
Got very emotional too! This show taught me about balance in early time were my anger kept me really isolated and the way the show runners crafted these stories about life and nature changed mine for the better
Yeah dude, this looks so good! Ngl I'm a little traumatized by the 2010 version but I'm more than willing to give this a chance. I don't think anything can really capture the pure magic of the original but I'm hoping this will be a close second! Thanks for sharing this 🤩
So cool seeing you react to this! I felt emotional watching it too! I watched it as it came out on TV as a kid. I loved it. Visually I think it looks amazing. It reminded me of the settings in The Hobbit, the sheer grandeur of epic fantasy. I love the bright colours and the smooth action scenes. But it was the music that made me feel like I was flying (on Appa). Watching this was one of the happiest parts of my childhood. I really hope it's as good as it looks and sounds.
Watching you get emotional was causing me to get emotional as well because I could feel how connected you are to the show and how impressed you were as you were watching the trailer. We both can’t have a box of tissues from the trailer lol. Warn me next time ❤❤❤
Avatar the Last Airbender is just ICONIC and LEGENDARY period!!! I watched it when the show came out in (5th grade), then did another show marathon when I was completing my PhD and stillllllll loved loved the cartoon. Can't wait to see this!
I need all og cast plz to do this and I’ve been asking for this since it dropped but I hope the og voice cast interacts with this new cast they are going for game of thrones and book 3 tone but when it comes to the effects Netflix wasn’t joking around they used the volume technology with and broke a world record of panels used the best company’s in the world are working together to make this happen Netflix wants multiple seasons so don’t expect it to be exactly like the original past avatars will be more involved as mentors to aang and take his body over like Roku did
this show was my childhood. seeing it brought to life again and done right this time is such a relief. I cant wait to see the final book and the final battle. Its gonna be just as epic as it was when I was a kid.
I love how much you love Avatar ❤ Not everyone who is part of something like this is actually a genuine fan of it, and I think it’s wonderful that you are! I am always pretty skeptical of live action adaptations but I’d be lying if I said the trailer didn’t have me pretty hyped! Visually it looks amazing and, well, let’s just say the bar is already set pretty darn low when it comes to live action ATLA… so the only way to go from here is up! 😂
Beautiful reaction!! One of the worst parts about these live action remakes is that we all know we can't have toph immediately, especially since there's no guarantee we'll ever get more than 1 season. Thank you for sharing your reaction! I hope it's as good as this trailer looks and we get that season 2. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm in love with you.
I got goosebumps when the main theme starting, it always makes me emotional. With it actually being individual episodes rather than a rushed movie, it will allow the story and the characters to breath more, which I'm super stoked about. I can say with full confidence that this will be better than (the movie we do not speak of). Also, do you think you will react to the full Official trailer too, when that eventually drops?? 😊😊
That music does a lot for the feels. I think aside from the cgi, it looks amazing. I do hope that they stay faithful to the original but they add. Something to make it unique and separate from the original so that we’re not just watching the exact same thing but LA. Maybe if the show does well they can tell the stories that take place after the show? Idk, the original is perfect so aside from just being a fun project I can’t really see too much of a need for the live action version. I hope the fighting choreography is as well done as the original, that was always one of my favorite things.
The cgi is fine. To your point about why this would even be necessary, I think live action is a good way to introduce these stories and characters to people that don’t like animated things.
@devin6079 that's exactly how I feel, it's going to bring the story to more people, and the cg for a series like this that needs it pretty much constantly looks pretty dope.
normally I find myself rather jaded about a lot of media these days, but Avatar never fails to light up that child like wonder in the deep recesses of my mind, even with certain adaptations in mind I have high hopes for this series and cannot wait to watch it.
I get constant chills throughout this entire trailer. The influx of emotions I receive when watching it is astonishing. My body almost doesn't know what to even do. Wether to cry, jump in excitement, scream, hyperventilate or straight up pass out. It's such a strange feeling, that I cannot put into words. I watched ATLA when I was maybe 10 years old for the first time. I watched it more and more over the years and it quickly become one of, if not my favorite animated show of all time. It is deep-rooted in my childhood and the love I have for it is sincere. I cannot wait to watch this and make childhood me happy again.

ATLA is one of the best animated stories I have ever seen. I fell in love with the show after 3 episodes and remember driving an hour to get to a house with Nickelodeon to see the finale. I am excited to see this adaptation, I want to see where they modify the story.
The music tugs on the heartstrings and makes me think of how much the animated series meant to me
I loved your reaction of feeling emotional! I felt teary eyed as well :)
The OG Melon Lord herself gracing us with her presence and getting teary got me even more emotional than when I first saw the trailer XD
As a fan of the original from childhood I am jumping with excitement. Everything looks a thousand times better and the Kyoshi warriors, Appa, Momo, and the updated score were definitely my favorite parts 😍💗🌊⚡️
"Not that I would see myself anyways" she really is Toph
I was really hoping to see the VA’s react to the teaser. So happy you did this! Now I want to see Dante’s reaction.
Nostalgic Heart Warming Moment!😭👋
I'm so excited to find your channel. Toph was by far my favorite character in the original series. Thank you for being such an excellent actor. I hope the new show is good and hopefully they cast someone close to as good as you were to play Toph.
Toph is one of the best cartoon charavters ever designed. Im honored to have wathced your work❤
As someone that not only grew up with the original series and loving Toph because of her humor, sass, and sarcasm, and rewatching the series almost yearly because I still love it so much, I am EXTREMELY excited to see how this turns out.
Thanks for sharing this 🤩
Im so glad to see Toph's voice actress, the amazing Jill, react to this.💪🇺🇸❤️
So cool seeing you react to this!
The scene where toph grabs and wraps the metal door around her like armor was my favorite part of the show.
Watching you get emotional was causing me to get emotional as well because I could feel how connected you are to the show and how impressed you were as you were watching the trailer. We both can’t have a box of tissues from the trailer lol. Warn me next time ❤❤❤
When the music started playing I got literal chills. I have faith this adaption will be amazing especially in its own way. Can’t wait
Looks good so far. But I really need to see the characters interact and talk to each other. Remember how good the first season of Witcher was..
Omg I loved your reaction!!
Man toph is badass in animation and in real life, great to meet you michaela
I love how much you love Avatar ❤ Not everyone who is part of something like this is actually a genuine fan of it, and I think it’s wonderful that you are!
I am always pretty skeptical of live action adaptations but I’d be lying if I said the trailer didn’t have me pretty hyped! Visually it looks amazing and, well, let’s just say the bar is already set pretty darn low when it comes to live action ATLA… so the only way to go from here is up! 😂
I have not been this excited in years for a TV show i remember watching the original animated version as a kid
Feels great to finally see the face behind my most favorite character
I got goosebumps when the main theme starting, it always makes me emotional. With it actually being individual episodes rather than a rushed movie, it will allow the story and the characters to breath more, which I'm super stoked about. I can say with full confidence that this will be better than (the movie we do not speak of). Also, do you think you will react to the full Official trailer too, when that eventually drops?? 😊😊
That song just gets ya and brings back so many good memories
Awww how beautiful… New Zealanders wear their hearts on their sleeves and I’m so glad you got emotional ❤❤❤
"The Boulder is conflicted about the blind humor!"
It's hard to hear the music at all and not be emotional. But yeah, lots of great steps in the right direction. So, hopeful.
After seeing the trailer
The first item of business... CRY!😭
I'm so excited for this series. Absolutely loved the original.
normally I find myself rather jaded about a lot of media these days, but Avatar never fails to light up that child like wonder in the deep recesses of my mind, even with certain adaptations in mind I have high hopes for this series and cannot wait to watch it.
I’m only a new fan of this series, but I’m literally so exited to experience it alongside all the old original fans. I ACTUALLY CANT WAIT ITS INSANE
Yes! Love your personality and your voice, Michaela. And your excitement for the show! It looks great.
I also cried when I saw it. I NEED it to be good. We need this.
It is the reaction of The Legendary Toph herself... The Greatest Earthbender in The World
Girl, I know, I cry too every time I see that trailer
