Korra is one of the most amazing TV show scores I've heard in a long time. The way it blends traditional western hollywood score, and this eastern/american jazz fusion; it doesn't just make you feel stuff like it did in ATLA, it actually becomes part of the world. You can't think of republic city without hearing Jeremey's music in the back of your mind.

I was so happy when I won the score for Service and Sacrifice and Jeremy was also kind enough to write me a letter with it. He shared a little insight on the composition of that piece where he almost “didn’t get it right.” I believe it was something about basing the melody the melody around the 5th of the chord rather than the root, but once he made the change it all fell into place.

Read somewhere Jeremy Zuckerman is not involved in the Netflix Live Version much like the original creators. I know the original theme was in the teaser trailer but be interesting how much of Jeremy’s original score ends up in the new adaptation or if they’re gonna completely go with the new guys work.

@christamenash5775 No, that's Kevin Kiner lol not Jeremy. And neither him nor Jeremy scored the live action Netflix series. You may be thinking of Dave Filoni who directed and storyboarded much of the first season of ATLA then ran CW with George Lucas, or Dee Bradley Baker who voiced Appa and then the Clones in SW.

The tough part is gonna be them doing serious Aang. I think light hearted Aang is easy to do but to make him that but intimidating with leadership and brave qualities is a balancing act the anime does perfect. When Aang cried we cried, when he laughed we laughed, and when he got serious we sat on the edge of our seats waiting to see what he would do. Give us a strong Zuko and a Emotional Aang. Give us what the anime did so well, character development

I gained a new appreciation of the track Aang Becomes Ocean after watching the Netflix remake and realized I missed hearing that track. It was still an incredible scene but it made me look up the track I barely remembered and I am blown away by the emotions it conveys. All the grief and the rage nearly brings me to tears.
Upon further reflection, this track uses simple drawn out string chords that results in one of the most emotional scenes of its seasons. Much like one of my favorite tracks in book 3: The Last Agni Kai.
