    I hope Spencer is doing well post surgery. It is crazy to think that the US is so stacked with talent that they could make 2 separate teams and both could win a medal at the Olympics. There is going to be a lot of heartbreak when this team is named, even more so than past years because favorites are gonna be left off of it. I mean we all know Simone and Shilese are basically locks baring any injuries, so that's just 3 slots left and at least a dozen potential women to fill those slots. Going to be a really interesting trials.

    I think US is so deep in talent right now and other countries so injury ridden that realistically we could take multiple typical AAers and still walkout with EF medals.
    For instance everyone keeps saying we can’t take Kayla and Leanne there’s only room for one. Well, not really. I definitely see a world where they take both.

    • @cocoroni1031
      @cocoroni1031 Месяц назад +7

      @@cocoroni1031 I think pending Leanne’s upgrades and consistency beam might not be far fetched.
      I also think some of the “event specialists” for team US aren’t looking so promising. Suni is a question mark pending her health, joscelyn stating she’s not 100% still, Skye inconsistencies, etc. it isn’t far fetched that they’d take both.
      They took Jordan and Grace last quad and both of which had no EF potential.

    • @cocoroni1031
      @cocoroni1031 Месяц назад +4

      @@eliseperron1928 They took Jordan because she's the 3rd all arounder domestically. Grace doesn't have any medal potential but it's Tom F era. The USA can't just solely depend on Simone and Shilese to do EFs. So they have to take some specialists who can medal on individual events and hopefully have a good AA program. The USA still needs a very good bars score (14.5-15). It can't be just 14.

    Simone Biles and Shilese Jones have certainly secured two of the five spots for the Olympics. They can make it to all six events in Paris (as they did at the last Worlds), and will potentially do all four events in the team final. Another all-arounder would complete this foundation, and of the three in contention - Jordan Chiles, Leanne Wong, and Kayla DiCello - DiCello has proven herself most recently, winning all-around titles at the Pan-Am Games and Winter Cup.
    That leaves two more, and it seems the team needs strong scores on vault and floor (and another beam worker is reassuring). A "three fourths" all-arounder would be ideal, and there are several options. Jade Carey or Joscelyn Roberson could fill the role, and it may depend on whose execution scores are most improved. Skye Blakely would otherwise be a true all-arounder if she weren't inconsistent on beam at the last two Worlds. Still, she is solid on the other three events. If Carey or Roberson underperform at Nationals, she may be the fourth member of the squad.
    The remaining contenders will fill gaps on the team, demonstrating exceptional talent on one event, reliability on another, and less of an asset on the other two. A single-event specialist is unlikely anymore, should the need arise for a last minute substitution. Let's see who knocks it out of the park at Nationals and Trials on their signature apparatus, while holding their own on a second one. It seems they also must be capable of qualifying for an Olympics event final. This is a toss up for a specialist on bars (Suni Lee or Gabby Douglass), floor (Kaliya Lincoln), or beam (Konnor McClain or Suni Lee). Aside from Lincoln, these veterans have not competed in elite for awhile, so they could be risky selections this late in the quad. It may be interesting to fill the final spot with a newer, competition-ready senior who surprises us during Nationals and Trials.

    • @aprile5209
      @aprile5209 Месяц назад +4

      I agree that Biles and Jones are locks (providing there are no injuries). If Lee can compete her planned difficulty on beam and bars consistently, she'll make the team. They'll need someone to offset her. I'd go with Carey or Roberson (maybe even Lincoln). The final spot should be an all-arounder that isn't spectacular on any one event, but good on all of them. Blakely, Wong, Chiles, and Dicello are your frontrunners. I haven't seen enough from Thomas, McClain, or Douglas to determine if they have a legit shot. Classic and Nationals should be interesting.

    • @eliseperron1928
      @eliseperron1928 Месяц назад +2

      Joscelyn is definitely not coming back at the same caliber that everyone is expecting her to. I don’t think she’s anywhere in the picture anymore. She actually admitted to not wanting to compete session 2 at classics with all the top names because she’s still not 100%.
      I also am not sold on Kayla being the best bet based on so far this season. She has actually notoriously not been the most consistent. So curious to see if she continues how she has been.
      I don’t foresee them taking a floor specialist. Simone Shi both capable on floor of medaling. I think their best bet is to look for someone to supplement on beam and bars (Suni, maybe Leanne). I know people are saying there isn’t room for both Leanne and Kayla. But I think if Leanne comes with upgrades on beam, and keeps her consistency she could be in the mix.

    • @cocoroni1031
      @cocoroni1031 Месяц назад +3

      Jade Carey's international score is good (8+E) so that's not true. Besides that she improves a lot on non-acrobatic components on floor. Jade is going for the vault & floor spot. Then just stack up bars & beam by the 3rd all arounder and the bars & beam specialist.

      @aliciamcdonald7105 simone and Zoe Miller are extremely close. She is also going into her first year of College, they hang often as seen on Instagram. They are definitely like sisters.

    As much as I adore gymnastic it’s time you realize that there are two sides to the proxy war in Ukraine. Adam Schift has said ‘we will fight Russia over there so we don’t have to do it here’ and let’s not forget the ol’ fave of his ‘we will fight till the last Ukrainian’ while I’m sure he has a wonderful stock portfolio in the military industrial complex so every hundred of billion spent of our public money a portion land in his bank account along with many on both sides of the isle. Have you had any counter point to US propaganda? Nope. In fact you’ll just erase comments that don’t look at it from that point of view. I’m sure my comment won’t last long. Forget about the coup the CIA and Victoria Newland (newly retired) backed there or that the U.S. is flooding Europe with weapons and that NATO has Russia surrounded after promising NOT to do that or the fact that Russia isn’t on our border in Canada or Mexico or that Adam Schift’s statement is correct and an entire generation of Ukrainian men have been laid to rest all for what? Generic words like ‘democracy’? Why is Israel not banned after the 40k in civilian casualties from international competition? War is a racket that’s why. Its an absolute shame that people in this country still want to rah rah so the already rich can steal more resources with their inserted puppet while millions of people in this country are homeless and have to choose between medicine and food every day all for weapon sales and the war economy. For any point you’ve made about this war there is a counter point whether you want to acknowledge it or not. #FreePalestine #NoMoreMoneyToUkraine #NoMoreMoneyToIsrael #WarIsARacket #HealthcareNotWarfare #DivestMentallyAndFinanciallyFromTheWarMachine #PeaceOffensive

      Russia invaded Ukraine in flagrant violation of UN Charter Article 2(4), the most important clause in all international law. So long as that's true, that's the side.

      @@valerielevasseur8674 I guess there’s nothing that happened before then right? Everything starts from there so it will fit that narrative. Nothing in the Donbas region, no coup in 2014 and no not sees burning people in churches which brought Russia in. The U.S. has invaded many a sovereign nations and is still occupying a portion of Syria at this moment. Then there’s Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Vietnam, the Korean War, the 💩 show the US government has made of the global south, the many attempted coups on Venezuela and the list goes on and on proving my point of war being a racket. The U.S. has over 900 military bases around the world. How many does Russia have for their supposed ambitions of world domination? I guess you’ll be fine with the U.S. funding this debacle till the last Ukrainian. Blackrock pushed this war through their media, is profiting from it and conveniently already has the contracts to rebuild after everything is leveled. Follow the money, it may even leave you with a head scratch or two.

      Nice try, Russia. Have fun watching from the sidelines. "Our border" lol. You're not in the US, and you don't give a flying **** about Palestinians. Using another people's dead children to fight a social media campaign is sick.
      Long live Ukraine.

      Russia is banned because they broke the Olympic truce THREE times, besides invading a country unprovoked. Stop with this BS and stop your MF war against Ukraine unprovoked, before telling America what to do.
