That video post HELPED A LOT! I am finally getting around to testing MPC Beats outside of PreSonus and when I want to sketch out ideas or compositions, MPC Beats has really impressed me. Totally disliked this software when I first got it. Didn't like the interface, didn't see it's purpose, the feel was iffy. Now, it's my goto for quick and simply beats that I can still integrate into my PreSonus Studio. I admit I slept on this application that came along with the MPK Mini. I am really starting to like MPC Beats a lot and to be able to get third party VST plugins to work in it, makes it winner for me. I didn't realize how much my use of the MPC1000 hardware 20 years ago would allow me to quickly get used to the workflow in MPC Beats! The VST effects plugins have caused me to sit up in my chair and take notice of the allowable creativity MPC Beats offers. I don't really have a need to upgrade to MPC 2 Software at this point, but MPC Beats has really made doing simply sketches FUN again for me! I HIGHLY recommend this application, especially for those who may be just starting out to get into beat making!
MPC BEATS is really good with everything it can do even with the limitations. I have heard people do some amazing things with it and you can’t beat free.

I'm a big fan of MPC's DAW it's significantly improved my workflow. I export my stems to Fruity Loops and finish up there. Some of my beats I finish it straight from there if I can find a good melody in my kits.
There’s almost no limit to what it can do.
@@GhettoStyles Yeah it's such a powerful DAW as a standalone it's extremely impressive. I'll be choppings Samples and when I go back home for the holidays I'll be making them into beats.

So was wondering if this was my issue not having this version. On mpc beats I lay out 5 tracks drums, grand piano, synth, bass and a audio track make several copied sequences and when I go into song mode and arrange it as intro, verse, verse, outro and when I play it for some reason it will turn off some of the tracks in the sequence can't seem to find any answers anywhere on this problem. Tried another simplier sequence with just audio, drums and synth and in song mode it played the drums and audio but turned off the synth.
I have had this happen before assuming that particular track is not muted on the individual sequence, It also occurs when your tracks are mismatched between sequences. So if track 1 is a drum program and track 2 is a synth and track 3 is a bass, when you copy to a new sequence they have to match.
If you copy to sequence 2 and decide it’s going to be a breakdown with no drums but you change that drum track to a synth track on track 1 it will export incorrectly.
I have made it a habit to make sure all of my tracks match even if I’m not using them (muted) on that sequence they still need to have the same sound source there.
Try to look for mismatched tracks across sequences and see if that is your problem.
I do think this is something that should be changed.

Are initial audio plugins compatible with mpc2? Just bought some plugins and they were working but now when I open the plugin in, it shuts down the whole program. I also do not have the full version of mpc. Any input would be appreciated
In my experience only one of them will open in the software without immediately crashing it. I don’t remember which one it is as I have been avoiding trying to use them in the software because of that.
In MPC beats you can use 1 of the midi tracks to load over 16 audio tracks and have them play at the same time.
I know. But that is a workaround. I have a video demonstrating this. And actually you can use one MIDI track to load 128 Audio tracks where you can do the same workaround in 2.0 also and get infinitely more. I’m discussing basic features not workarounds. Some expansion work only on mpc 2 others only on mpc software you get some plugins native on mpc 2 vs vst on mpc beats and you get inmusic directly in the sofware in mpc 2 wich help in the installation and so on! In the end its 2 different and separate softwares with similar interface! I think it's great to get familiar with mpc world and work flow on beats but get the mpc 2 to unleash the beats!
Actually all of the expansions work both in the software and in standalone. Now the plugins are different. There are a lot of plugins you get with the software that only work in the software.
It really is the same software for both. Just the Beats versions has limitations and you can still get around most of them.

It 100% comes with the software. In your Akai account once you register the MPC X using the code on the bottom there will be a serial code for the software in your account along with a lot of additional plugins and extras.

Peace god how long is the trail version for Fabric Collection? I want to try out the sounds before I get it also my Mpc One won't allow me to start trail in standalone for some reason do I need to download the trial first then run update in standalone. Bro I got a ? why when going thru some legit expansion they don't auto sync or audition they were working before any tips on fixing expansions that won't let you browse?
I believe you are talking about in the EXPANSIONS section. I have had some that did not appear there before. I just re-imported them to fix it. In addition to that if the expansion still doesn't show there you can ALWAYS manually browse to that expansion by going to PLACES then selection you MPC storage location, then go to your EXPANSIONS folder then go to the folder of the expansion you want and load it from there as well.

Which is the better Unit & is easier to use between the 2016 Akai MPC Studio Black & the Akai MPD26 using it with Ablelton or Logic Pro?
If you want to purely use it with logic then the MPD is probably the better option because it is a controller only not much unlike and other MIDI controller keyboard except it has pads instead of keys and will work with any DAW.
Now the MPC Studio Black is also a controller but it’s primary function is MPC integration. It does also require driver installation. It can control features in another DAW but it is not seamless.
The MPD26 will be plug and play. That being said if I was to recommend a MPC controller for logic or any DAW it would be a MPK Mini 3 or Advance because it has both keys and pads and is plug and play with any DAW.

@@HowYouMove the MPC One is really a good choice. I recommend finding a good size high speed SD Card between 128GB and 512GB.
There are some cheap ones out there with large storage sizes but some of them are so slow it will make you want to punch yourself in the face.
Can you use Mpc in standalone on mpc beats
MPC Beats is a desktop application. If you use any standalone MPC it runs the full 2.0 software.
I just upgraded from Beats to MPC 2 and now i have them both now on the same machine but when i open my projects there is no midi and the sequence is not there.??!! Why is MPC not reading my xpj file? currently on version 2.8.0
2.8 is way outdated. The current version is 2.12.1. Also 2.0 will open any MPC Beats project. If you have 2.0 you don’t need beats any more unless you just want to use it.
How do I purchase the full version of MPC beats I bought a MK mini a while ago and got a 2.0 version but it’s not the full version

I’m new to the Mpc software. So normally you would make the beat in Mpc software and rearrange it and mix it in another daw of your choice?
A lot of people do that but I do not. I do everything in MPC. The only time I put stems in another DAW is if I’m doing song recording.

There is but most people don’t actually know. The hardware in standalone is limited to 8 MIDI tracks and 8 audio tracks. Desktop is 128 for both. Not that you will ever need that many but if you did it’s there. The software also has time stretch algorithms that are way better that cannot be used in standalone. Also in regards to time stretch you can warp an entire Keygroup at once on desktop. That option is unavailable in standalone. The desktop software can run almost any VST no matter who makes it. The hardware in standalone can only run select VSTs made by Akai.
This is just off top of my head. There is probably more.

@@pharaohmajor Ok so on the hardware in standalone you have two time stretch algorithms. You got BASIC and PRO TEN which is a little better. In Controller Mode or Computer Mode you have five different time stretch algorithms which are BASIC, PRO TEN, ELASTIQUE MOBILE, ELASTIQUE EFFICIENT, and ELASTIQUE PRO which is the highest quality time stretch algorithm that is currently available on MPC. MPC BEATS has those same five algorithms where the MPC in Standalone only has two AND MPC BEATS can warp or time stretch entire keygroups just like the full 2.0 software which you cannot do in standalone.

Hopefully they get rid or better yet, replace the iLok stuff they have for the full version. That's really the only thing that's putting me off but I can wait. Steinberg's already slowly moving past iLok with their new monthly re-log in system for Cubase. Hopefully Akai does the same.
That re-log in type system sucks too. If the WiFi is out or unavailable you’re sunk. Plus Akai already have plugins that are not ilok and they call back a lot more than once per month if you have them. It’s actually annoying at times.
So, the question is, If I buy mpc 2 software, it comes with premium plugins like air vocal, will those plugins be available on my mpc one in standalone mode?
If you own the MPC One it comes with those vocal suite plugins already and the MPC One COMES WITH THE FULL 2.0 software.
Dude, I made a mix recently where I kept recording multiple vocal takes and after I got past about 11 vocal takes, MPC 2.0 started to overdub my original takes
That sounds like it could be a bug. I have never personally used that many audio tracks in the software but they should definitely be available.

When you hold a key down do you see a small light flashing in the MPC Beats software?

Question! How do I add xenology and xpand!2? I’m not sure what files need to be where. I tried to drag and drop. It didn’t work. Thank you!
Xpand2 and Xenology are VSTs. You have to click the plugin icon and browse your list of plugins to open them. The VST3 versions do not currently work in the MPC.
@@GhettoStyles is that why it’s not working? Are they VST3s? Because I tried searching after I downloaded xpand!2 and it didn’t do anything. It had an installer, another app and then the air technology folder. Didn’t know what to do from there. I’m just trying to put those sounds on my mpc one+
@@Reggicide it doesn’t just show up. You also need to go I settings to the plugin manager and click search new plugins or search all plugins.
@@GhettoStyles right I did that too. I unzipped and added it to the desktop. Was that not correct? I don’t need to have my mpc plugged up to my laptop as well do I?
@@Reggicide When you download both Xpand and Xenology you have to double click and install them on the computer. Once installed you open the MPC Software and go to Settings then Plugins and make sure you VST folders are checked then click SCAN NEW. Once all of your plugins are scanned in you click the PLUG ICON on the left side under TRACK. Then under PROGRAM you click the space next to PLUGIN for a drop down list of your installed plugins. You click the PLUS next to VST to get your full list of installed plugins. Xpand will be under AIR MUSIC TECHNOLOGY if you have the boxes checked to SORT BY TYPE and MANUFACTURER. Xenology will only show up if you have the VST2 version installed. It comes with both VST2 and VST3 but VST3 is not compatible with the MPC Software at this time. As far as having your MPC Hardware unit plugged up to the computer it would be EXTREMELY helpful to do that because you can use the MPC to do everything without touching the computer. How about support AAX on Windows?
Are you referring to using the software as a plugin or using aax plugins inside the software? I’m using it on Mac but I’m using VST and AU plugins. I have not tried to use it with protools.
@@GhettoStyles aax plugin inside software. Some vsti have no vst2 pluggin. Still no support vst3 on MPC2.
@@dmitriysoldsarg2526 VST3 is not supported directly but you can use a VST wrapper like waves studio rack.
Also on Mac most VST3 plugins do have AU versions that do work inside the MPC.
I will have to check on aax plugins. I will check mine and get back to you.
why doent my mpk work in 2.0 software??? the keys rarely work and the pads work only sometimes
all of the MPKs work in the 2.0 software you just have to make sure it is properly set up. I have a few videos on this but it has to be selected in the MIDI LEARN tan and ENABLED then in PREFERENCES you have to go to the MIDI/SYNC tab and set the MPK to CONTROL, TRACK, AND GLOBAL. You also might want to turn SYNC on.
@@GhettoStyles thanks for the response I know bro I have selected all these settings but by chance it only works 30% of the time when it doesn’t work I spend like 30-40 mins turnig these same settings in and off to no avail so I give up and a few hours later sometimes it works again
@@Boiiiiwhatttt double check your cable. I use a MPK Mini every day. Right now it is a Mini plus but I also have a MPK Mini 3. I have used a Mini 2 and the original as well. They all work in the software and have selectable presets now. If you are using the built in MPK Mini preset you shouldn’t have to keep resetting it. I’m wondering if you have a short in the cable or it is connected to a USB hub that doesn’t have enough power.

@@Boiiiiwhatttt try connecting it direct and see if it works. If it does then your usb hub might be too slow. Specially if your usb hub is 2.0.

@@rockyjefferson5598 in that case yes you would have to pay for the upgrade to 2.0 as the MPK mini only comes with the limited version MPC BEATS. That being said I would recommend considering getting a MPC Studio which is currently $269 and comes with the full 2.0 software. The software by itself is usually $200. I put labels in the bottom right to say which is which but they do look exactly the same and mostly work the same.

I just purchased mpc beats full version but only got 11 midi tracks the blue color icon right
I’m sorry I got the red icon not the blue
@@mosescarrero419 Wrong. The RED Icon is the Full version and has 128 MIDI tracks. Now if you have a standalone MPC I'm sorry to inform you that you wasted your money because if you registered your device then IT COMES WITH THE FULL VERSION. In STANDALONE the MPC is limited to 8 MIDI tracks like MPC BEATS.
I bought a MPk mini controller n was using the MPC beats free version than I deleted the free version n bought the full version the red one
But I got 128 audio tracks
@@GhettoStylesfirst i bought a mpk mini n downloaded the sounds n stuff n registered my mpk but I was the free version of mpc beats I had on my computer already i deleted the free version then downloaded the full version on to my computer got 128 audio tracks but only 11 midi tracks unless I’m not scrolling right
