Baby Doll, in 1969, no one had heard anything like these guys! The audience was in shock, they were dumbfounded! Now when i saw them in "77" we didn't sit down for the entire show! These 4 guys are Legends! Happy Trails!
In regard to the audience, there might have been some rules if this was being recorded for television. However I saw 3 early Led Zeppelin concerts in a small venue, and sat quietly on the floor with everyone else. I was around 40 feet (10 meters) from the stage. Everyone sat quietly, totally focused on the music and performance. We were bedazzled, mesmerized, and amazed by what we saw and heard. I would recommend listening to the studio version of Babe I'm Gonna Leave You because the instrumentation, vocals, and emotion are a lot more powerful. If you like when Robert sings high notes, there are a lot more in the studio version. Even the lyrics were different and much better.
Your blushing is adorable. Keep up the incredibly great work you are doing. And never forget to keep that incredible smile going. God bless you and yours. ❤❤❤🤟🤟🤟
The next song from this same show is How Many More Times, definitely worth a listen too. I think the crowd is chill because because it is an intimate show that was also broadcast over the radio, so the crowd was probably told not to make much noise during the performance. Also, maybe the Danes are chill folks. 🤔
At this gig the band was still completely new. Robert and John were only 20 years old, Jimmy already had a career as a studio musician and guitarist for the Yardbirds and was 4 years older. Bassist John Paul was also an experienced studio musician. This is recorded in a small television studio, with a very small audience enjoying the completely new music. Back then, viewers on television stayed calm and listened carefully. It was different at big concerts, the audience roared and screamed.
You're right! LOTS of great Zep vids still to check out! So glad you're enthusiastic about them. "Rock and Roll" from 1973 MSG is kick-ass. "How many more times" from this same "Dead Audience" show is REALLY great, especially with Jimmy going nuts on his guitar, haha! "Achilles Last Stand" from 1979 is incredible. One of their last shows..."The Ocean" , also from the 1973 MSG show, will make you blush a lot, I'm guessing, because of the way Robert, um, looks, lol. "Trampled Underfoot" from 1975 is FIRE!
Sweet dear, please listen to the original studio version, for your own reference. There is more "production" and atmosphere to the song and Jimmy plays really beautiful Spanish guitar parts on it! Also, Robert's vocal delivery is different. You will love it!!
Agree on starting with original studio versions if you are new to the song. for lifelong fans who have been listening to this for more than 50 years, live & raw versions like this are out of the box and priceless.
@kurtsaxton823 There is PLENTY WRONG with this version. First it is a very simplified version. 2nd , Jimmy's tones are rubbish and his playing mostly sloppy. Robert shows glimpses of what he can do, but sounds like he has a severe cold. And then the recording quality is poor and probably damaged.
The band and their sound were so new, Robert's voice 68-72 cannot be challenged! He and John (drums) are still 20 yrs old here! Live broadcast so this privileged audience has agreed not to shout or cheer during the performance, a strange concept of that time! They did very few tv appearances or even interviews, preferring instead to have people come check them live or buy their albums to hear this new sound they were making very popular! Check the studio version for this, it's a cover and re-arrangement that was magnificent for the 1st album. Also try some more off the 1st album, you will hear why they took off and became legendary in such a short time! ... "Good Times Bad Times" "Communication Breakdown" "How Many More Times" & "I Can't Quit You"
This was at TV or radio show, very early in their career, before they really exploded. The young audience wasn’t allowed to make any sounds, imagine how hard that was, hearing & seeing them for the first time. This show is so cool to see, but the sound quality isn’t the greatest, but great to see the early rawness of them. Thank you for your reaction. I love the live at Earls Court (1975) In My Time Of Dying, there’s 2 versions, the one is so much better then the other though.
First saw some of these videos after buying the Led Zeppelin Dvd (2003). The main concert is Royal Albert Hall and is absolutely amazing. I remember putting it on for the first time and thinking, I'll watch the first song to see how they enter and start the show but then I'll just pick a couple of the songs I know and like already. The dvd started up, Zeppelin came out on stage and started playing, and the next thing I realized the show was over and they were walking off stage. I had watched the whole show in a daze and complete wonderment it was life changing. I can only imagine that see them in person would have the same affect, and have read that many people seeing Zeppelin for the first time felt overwhelmed and either stood still in awe or had to leave cause it was more then they could take.
This is nice and live is great in its own way as you get to see them but I can tell you from old timers like me, every time you listen to a song live, you should hear the original studio audio. Almost every single time, it is a better audio experience, and you hear the real song that people will be listening to, far into the future. Their studio mastery was unparalleled, they will blow you away in a totally different way if given the chance. It is great to see them, even better to hear what they really could do, artists of the highest caliber.Just want to be sure you don't miss out and studio audio is great in the car, so Enjoy! You are awesome, beautiful Ola! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Exactly .. the Studio 'Version' is the Way Everyone first heard the Music .. It's the way the Band intended it to sound.. the way it sounds on their First Studio Album, in January 1969. This live performance is interesting mainly for people who have already listened to the Studio version. The Studio Sound is WAY more Beautiful and detailed 🌺
This is a REACTION video. The best way to listen to the studio versions is to lie down in a dark room with headphones on and with eyes closed and say nothing. That wouldn't make for an interesting reaction video.
@@lyndoncmp5751 I agree with both of you, her audio experience is much better with studio originals but like many modern reactors, they want to see whomever, often with an inferior version of the song but the visual is what they crave.

Ola, you haven't heard "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" until you've heard the Official Audio. It's vastly superior. When Robert sings "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You", I swoon and I'm in my 60's! So don't stop crushing on Robert. Quite a few other female reactors have fallen under his spell also. Why do younger listeners make that " sleeping " comment, about the audience? They're DEFINITELY not sleeping. Were you? Watching this 55 yr old performance. Were you sleeping? Its a studio. Not a disco.Or were you just captivated by the sound of Roberts vocals, and passion? The raw sound of the 3 piece band.I saw your face. Perfectly still. Focused. Full attention to the vocals. And instruments Similar to an audience Watching an opera. Or a great magician. Complete attention. Just like you. Even rewinding, to hear particular phrases. No different. Witnessing greatness. That's great music
Always listen to the studio version first, they are 2nd to none in the way Jimmy arranged the music. They were so far ahead of their time. I saw them live in 1977 and while it was great, the studio albums mixes were sooooo superior!
The studio original is almost always a better audio experience but no video. She should get the albums streaming in her car, that would work and she would quickly understand why many of us want her to check out the real original songs, they are the true classics.
You wonder if, back in these days of local performances on small television programs, if the hosts and audience knew they were hearing what would someday be considered the greatest rock band of all time.
Some probably thought about it, but these people had already been watching the Beatles, Stones, Who, Cream, Hendrix, Dylan so they were used to see amazing talented musicians. To them it probably didn't seem that unusual as they had already enjoyed an embarrassment of riches.
*Actually written by Ann Brendan in the 50's. Folk singer , Joan Baez first sang the song. Led Zeppelin of course covered & Btw , Joan Baez WAS in the auditorium audience. She praised them with high regards
Well most of the music and lyrics of Zeppelin's song here was written by them. The source material is only a basic part of Zeppelin's version. It's more than a cover. More like a complete reworking.
@@lyndoncmp5751 I agree and never refer to this as a cover. If it wasn't for the title and a few lyrics, no one would think of the 2 as the same song. Just on a quick note (min 5:50) the audience is not sleeping. The audience is paying respect. Listening to the song. Instead of disturbing it. Great example: when Deep Purple were playing Child in time for the 1st time. There was about 30seconds of silence from the audience, after they finished that song. Waiting, if it would continue. To give it this silence, if thzere was more to come. And I TOTALLY respect this behaviour, until today. To let this last tone of a song linger. And slowly fade. And only then:... This may not be to everyone’s taste, but Robert Plant did a brilliant version of this song in 2014 live at the Glastonbury Festival with his band the Sensational Space Shifters.
You couldn't even make it a minute into the song and you came apart. Don't feel bad though, this has been happening to women ever since Led Zeppelin started.

So believe it or not Plant had laryngitis for this performance. What he was capable of in early 1969 was incredible and although he gives it his all this doesn’t come close to live performances from those days in terms of the stratospheric notes he could hit with incredible power. And I also think the guitar tone sucks on this lol. Not a big fan of the Danish TV performance. You should treat yourself to listening to the album version!
When this video was recorded, nobody knew who Led Zeppelin was. This was shot at a television show. The audience had shown up to see a television show. They had no idea what they were about to see. That's why they did not know how to react
I wouldn't say nobody knew. The first album hadn't yet been released in Europe when this was recorded on March 19th 1969 but it was released in America in January. They'd been touring on and off for half a year prior to this. Cheers.

Agreed, the definitive live version I have seen on You Tube is Page/Plant live at the Amnesty International Concert in 1998, Page does an unexpected and amazing electric solo that is one of the best he or anybody ever did, if you have not seen it go and be mesmerized like Robert Plant was, standing at Jimmy like he was very impressed which says it all!

It's a television performance and the audience were probably told to keep quiet..It's not the best sound, so listen to the album version..👍 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Никто не вслушивается в песню первые пять секунд. Все просто смотрят как Бобби встряхивает волосами ❤😂
You couldn't even make it a minute into the song and you came apart. Don't feel bad though, this has been happening to women ever since Led Zeppelin started.
Men also
F YEA!!! it HAS!!! ahahaha i am one of **Millions** heh & i for one **LUV** how MUCH she **Luvz** them & **Hope** she will continue to be SO **Obsessed** as i have been since i 1st started listening to them when i was 7-8 years old & obviously my **Obsession** with **MyBelovedOtherWorldlyLedZeppelin** has NEVER gone away heh **RockON!!!**
🙏👍👏
I have never ever heard someone call a brummy accent sexy 😂
He didn't really have much of a Brummie accent though, and he used to kind of put on his speaking voice in public (interviews, foreign concerts etc).
i think it IS **Sexy** as well so there now ya have heard it at least twice in your Life Ha
@@CosmicVagabondPixie fair enough 😂
yeah, it's kind of like calling a Kentucky hillbilly accent sexy.
@@danceswithcritters
Thick southern US accents can be sexy on women. 😉
❤️💯❤️💯❤️🤘💋🇮🇹
The audience was told to not make noise or "distract" the musicians. It VERY odd, but how are they sitting still?!
I think this was so different from what they were used to hearing and seeing. And, they were in their high school under supervision.
So CrAzYYY indeed!
Roberts voice is better in this version than the studio, keep listening to the live performances. They’re a better live.
Cheers.
OMG OMG YAY!!! i already **Know** YOU are going to **LuvLuvLuv** THIS!!! david gilmour coming back to live
and prince slow love live plis
Studio versions are ALWAYS better. They can do things in the studio that can’t be done live. And they’re always mistake free.
Studio version >>>>>
If Jesus Christ came back as a rock star, he would be Robert plant 🇬🇧👍 I love your sweet enthusiasm 😜
😯
Mmmmm..... Robert...... delicious! ❤
As much as I love classic Zeppelin, the studio version is actually better than the live version, imo.
Davichi (kpop female duo) sad promise music video reaction plz!!!!! 🙏
They caught criminals, but became criminals by killing people.road scene is police in front of them and they don't have a choice. Last scene is maybe heaven (they death) or be a rich (earn money from caught criminals and eat steak)
Ouch, you could not have picked a worse version. The recording is horrible and Jimmy is clearly on a different planet on the night. Please find another one - honestly, they are much better than this.
react all my love...
Anything off presence
The original album version is way better.
Zeppelin was strange in that, the live performances were almost never as good as the studio cuts.
Not the greatest version of this song..I would listen to the album version.. plant knocks it out of the park
Robert was staring at Jimmy in amazement...
Naah, this version is great. To me even better than the album version tbh
FU@# copyright
Led zeppelin live is terrible
"Thankyou" from their 1969 studio album Led Zeppelin 2. A romantic ballad dedicated to Robert's wife.
