I heard zeppelin when a was a teenager, but now, i listen them again, and every time I think they are even better. The best band of de world. Robert Plant was the most amazing voice of rock. Page one of the best guitarists of all times. What can I say of Bonzo? There is no one like him. As you said, he kills his drums, making the best sound I've ever heard.

    Helene here: Patrick, you said that Plant’s voice give you chills. I know many people online on Zeppelin sites speak of loving his voice...his speaking voice as well as his singing voice. There is something in the timbre of it. His speaking voice, to many, including myself, is very calming. Listening to interviews of him is wonderful....both because I love hearing him speak, but also, the man is a virtual walking encyclopedia of knowledge of American blues as well as bluegrass Hill music....”roots” music..Americana. Patrick, For your own pleasure, if you really enjoy his voice, you could investigate his 40 year solo career and his many solo albums. His voice has gotten deeper with age...no longer the high screams, but it still is a lovely voice..full of emotion and grace.

    • @asd14800
      @asd14800 3 года назад

      I never heard so much power in the voice of another singer, it just conveys a sense of power, I don't know how to explain

    • @w.geoffreyspaulding6588
      @w.geoffreyspaulding6588 3 года назад +1

      @@asd14800 Yes....it did. I agree. I think the word that you might be looking for is also charisma. His voice just mesmerized. Other rock singers had/have powerful voices....Dio, Freddie Mercury, David Lee Roth, Eddie Vedder...but there was something about Plant. His voice still has power today...but in a totally different way: No longer physically a powerhouse, but his voice still has charisma. Now it is the charisma of emotive power....the weight of years and of a life fully lived, a life of success but also tragedy....full of poignancy.

      I absolutely love Led Zepplin and Robert Plant is the vocal equivalent of Jimmy's lead, Bonham's beats & the free thinking patina of JPJ's magic 🙏🔥
      But I have to say this whenever someone says there is no other with the "timbre", "charisma" or "power" of Plant's vocals.
      And this may sound 'odd', certainly 'out of left-field' but COURTNEY HADWIN (look her up).
      SHE HAS EXACTLY THOSE 3 TRAITS and is ALL- IN with EVERY PERFORMANCE!
      She is very young still but oh boy! would I love to see hear & feel her take on LZ 🔥
      At the rate her voice is maturing the sky is the limit for her & rest assured any cover from her would be an absolute tribute and a treasure in itself. Those who feel it jump on or I'll clam-up for a while 🤪

    I’ve studied Led Zeppelin’s members after John Bonham #1 Jimmy, JPJ, and Robert Plant are great and humble men who have been given the gift of music 🎵 and the love of music is always fresh! Yes they are brilliant but their legacy they are still just human mortals that are creative! Enjoy your channel is enjoyable! Being a professional musician this is what we do! Share a foundation to engage the
    listener and take them somewhere else they want to be past present or future! Take care and be well and always stay who you are! 🎸🥁🎹🎤🎧🎼🤞🤟🙏

    The hallmark of incredible bands are how they make you feel through their music. The best bands come across as a complete unit with nobody standing out far more than others. Zeppelin definitely do this, Pink Floyd and for me, Dire Straits accomplish this most of all. It’s like Mark Knopfler’s guitar is plugged into his heart. The same can be said for Jimmy Page and David Gilmour. Bands from this era are untouchable. Absolutely untouchable. You guys are great to watch. So much enthusiasm!! Keep it up.

    Wish I could've seen them live! My husband has seen them twice!! So Jealous!! He's a bit older than me, and he was like 13 when he saw them.

      The ebb and flow, the movement of this song is spectacular. The rising intensity of Bonham's high hats sliding into Page's unexpected Flamenco riffs is breathtaking. Jones' bass drives the whole piece like a Maserati! Plant's vocals tell the story with such passion!
      The musical form and texture of this piece, IMO, makes it a Masterpiece in a catalog of iconic bangers!
      Very nice reaction! ✌️
      If you haven't reacted to LZ's hard driving

    There is so much history and controversy around this song. It took some time for the real story to come out. This is a folk song written in 1959 by a female singer, picked up by Joan Baez who also did a beautiful rendition. Then Zeppelin picked it up through their admiration for Joan Baez. So the point is, the message and the music of this song can fit so many genres, women, men, folk, rock. A work of genius by the original author Anne Bredon.

    You guys... Your pretty cute!... I can tell that George allows the music to speak to his sole.
    I always say if a song equis a story then A Lez Zep song is equivalent to a trilogy. I feel like Robert Plant's voice is as if it was another instrument playing along with the others I. Some times it's his voice alone that carries the melody

    Well, David Coverdale did go on tour with Page in 1994 or so....REALLY pissed off Robert. He caught flack for being pissy about it, but I don’t blame him. It’s one thing to try to sing like Plant, but Coverdale imitated his stage persona as well...doing similar moves etc. and that was just WRONG. The only band (outside of Heart) that I think did a credible job on Zeppelin covers was Great White. Oh, and if you guys have never heard of or seen a Page cover artist from Japan by the name of Mr. Jimmy, you should check him out. Not to react to, but just for personal knowledge. It’s positively uncanny how much he resembles Page. He has devoted his life to the study of Page...his guitar playing and his signature moves onstage, as a homage to his mentor and idol. Jimmy Page went to see him once in Tokyo and was very impressed with his work.

    Led Zeppelin I is probably the best debut album ever, though 'Are You Experienced' is right up there, and I'm sure there are some others people would mention - the Allman Brothers, Chicago Transit Authority are a couple of others,. This song was written by Anne Bredon in the late 1950s, and Joan Baez was the first person 'of note' to record it. Jimmy was notorious for taking someone else's song, rearranging it and giving himself writing credit, but nonetheless this is a masterpiece. You've probably heard the whole album, but my favorite off it is 'How Many More Times'. It's great seeing live videos, but usually the studio version is the best (in my opinion) to get a full appreciation of the song.

    You mentioned Jimmy's acoustic work and you have still yet to marvel at the great solo legend Nick Drake and his unique 70's songwriting, guitar tunings and voice, try 'Northern Sky', 'Fruit Tree', 'Joey' and 'Things behind The Sun' sometime.

    Love you guys! You got it immediately. You took in the entirety and I could tell the vocals didn't overwhelm
    your appreciation of the emotion of Jimmy's guitar work.
    This song so perfectly reflects the "I gotta go", "I'd never leave you" that's absolutely authentic to how shred-
    ded a real relationship can leave you. I'm not talking about something short term but someone who you know
    you need to get distance from because you have no control around them, yet you can't. It's gonna bring you
    down but it don't matter. It's so good you're gonna walk right between those headlights.
