Boeing 737 Max 8 Rejects Takeoff at Warsaw Airport

- I was on LO279 (Warsaw to London Heathrow) on August 4, 2023. 15 seconds into the takeoff roll, the pilot decides to reject the takeoff. He later tells us that it was due to a malfunctioning airspeed indicator.
Our flight taxied back to the gate where we all had to deplane and wait another hour while the airport personnel transferred our luggage to another plane. We eventually did depart two hours after our scheduled departure time.

Rejecting the takeoff because of a malfunctioning airspeed indicator was probably one of the best decisions ever. Why? On February 6, 1996, a Turkish-native captain operating a Birgenair Boeing 757 had a malfunctioning airspeed indicator, and he still decided to continue the takeoff roll. He got so confused on which airspeed indicator was showing the correct speed that he allowed the speed to drop so far to the point where the plane stalled out and crashed into the Atlantic. Well done by this pilot.

A faulty airspeed on a Max is especially dangerous given the MCASS system.
This has been fixed and patched. What you meant to say was an unreliable airspeed is dangerous on any aircraft.
there are about over 1,000 737 max 8 flying daily basis there is no issues whatsoever and pilots are aware about mcas

Second time actually. I flew into Warsaw from Yerevan the day prior on a MAX 8. I wasn’t nervous at all but my mother sure was. I had to reassure her that everything’s okay 😂.
