Jean-Luc Godard is himself a Maoist. while the movie does portray their fanatism, it was during the Vietnam war and the Khrushevite coup; the movie itself is talking about revisionism, how Moscow has left the revolutionary struggle, shaking hands with Washington even in their crimes in Vietnam, the lyrics speak for themselves. This movie was criticized after its release by Maoist circles for its false portraying of their organization, Many intelectuals and student at the periods where inspiring themselves from Maoist doctrines, which I feel the Movie is trying to portray. Also BLM is a movement against police brutality as a whole in the US, there may be not a significant other term for Latino's and other minorities which suffer from systemic racism, it doesnt mean its not legitimate as an action. There has been many movement in Africa agaisnt regimes and their institutions, #EndSars in Nigeria, the Hirak movement in Algeria, #SaveDafur in Sudan, or even the Arab srping agaisnt the dictatorial regimes in MENA or the Orange revolution in Ukraine which was shared with tweets and the internet, more recently the #ColombiaEnDictadura is also an example of such. We only heard of BLM during last summer because of its mass mediatization (American Medias have much more force than foreign ones) and what it meant, but I dont know the revelance of this here
