I have a forty year old pirate audio cassette of her singing the aria in the 1970s. However bad you might imagine its sound quality to be, the reality is even worse!
@@FlickaVonStade I've seen her sing the aria Dopo notte on the news before but never got a chance to hear it.Her teenage voice. It's actually perfect for some Baroque Castrato aria
@@FlickaVonStade In 1972, she and Roberta Peters performed Figaro's at the Metropolitan Opera House, which I have a live recording of, and she looked like a lovely teenager
@@spyserse2219 Flicka often included Handel in her recital programmes in the early years of her career. She says that she wishes that she had been able to perform more of his music-like Rossini's, she says, it felt wonderfully healthy for her voice. Regarding videos of her singing when she was young, I think that we're ever so lucky that there's a film of her singing Cherubino at Glyndebourne in 1973. And one of the happiest discoveries that I've made while researching her biography is a tiny clip of her in recital in Edinburgh in 1976.
@@FlickaVonStade If you have these recordings, I hope you post them on youtube, I would love for her to sing Giulio Cesare at the Met in her early years, Sesto's aria Cara speme should suit her voice well.
Do you have a video or music of Frederica singing Handel's dopo notte?
