    Great video, just bare in mind that petroleum based products will attack rubber, silicone grease is the recommended lube for rubber.

    Thanks for that. I don't have a chalk line, so I just used a homemade string plumb line between the two end brackets then lined up the middle brackets to the string. I also added a baseboard first as I had some spare timber. It rained last night and it works a treat!

      Hi, that's a good idea 💡. Half these jobs don't require specialist tools, but they definitely help and speed up the job. Thanks for your comment!

    Just found your video. Excellent job. You kept it simple and loved the PVC piping you used as a down spout. Thanks so much for posting.

    Great video. To stop the downpipe dropping, I put 1" self tapping through the brackets and pipe with a neoprene washer between the pipe and bracket.

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  Год назад

      @Tholius to stop the downpipe (round pipe coming from the guttering to the floor) from dropping/moving you could put a small screw through bracket into the downpipe. Hope that makes sense

    Very informative thank you. I've got a shed with a large overlapping roof so I've bought a 2x4 for it to extend out to reach the drop. There isn't any place to drain it so I'm creating a barrel pond for the extra runoff that don't go in the water butt. Please pray for me I'm useless at this stuff, I got no one to ask for help and disabled with weak wrists, so this will be "fun" 😐👍

      To be honest, it is really easy to install guttering. Just take your time, and don't forget to put vaseline on the jounts/rubber of the guttering to make it easier to assemble.

    Video shows both ends done with gutter clipped in place but he would have had to take the gutter off again to fix on the centre clip and as someone else commented downpipe at the end of video appears to be on a different shed.

      Hi, i can assure you it's all on the same shed as it's my shed. It's just that some of the footage was filmed on the front camera on my phone, and that reversed the video image As for the guttering clips, you can just work your way along the guttering as the clip it in

    Where did you get the pvc gutter? Does this come in a kit or did you purchase individually? Is there an amazon link or did you purchase from hardware store lowes or Home Depot? Thanks and great vid! I

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  Год назад +1

      Hi, Would it be best to purchase the guttering from a local hardware store. You can get the accessories (joints, bends, end caps) from amazon. The links i posted ate for the Uk. Thanks for your comment 👍

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  Год назад +1

      Hi, yes in the uk there are a few types of guttering and different profiles/shapes. Once you have identified the style of guttering, then the guttering parts are easy to obtain and very cheap.
