Great fun in a 172. Had many such myself. I did notice the right gas cap looked like it wasn't fully put back on. Was still at a 45~ angle. Hope it stayed on.
@@MM-vt4ji flying in South Florida in the winter is the best. There are lots of fun places to visit, and you’re not likely to be stranded on the ground waiting for a storm to pass.
Cool video. I hope you guys keep making more. Vanessa definitely greased the first landing. Btw I loved your avionics package. I wonder if it is in your plans to update interior and paint? Cessna 172 is such a great airplane.! You should make a video flying to Bimini .
@@Limaxulu1 Thank You!!! I think our next video will be an IFR flight to the Bahamas. We are just waiting for the weather to settle down a little. We’ve definitely talked about paint as the next project for the plane. We did the avionics and overhauled the engine right after buying it. It has been a great plane!
@@FrapachinoPlz we did that at night in 2023. We flew to PBI, then departed to the east, over Mar O Lago, and up the island. It was beautiful. Hard to get good video at night though.
My first time catching your channel. Fun flight, this is what GA is all about for me. A few questions; I like that you addressed the fuel prices, why did you get fuel at EWY? Looks like you could make it with reserves back home. 2nd, have you thought of adding audio? As a fellow pilot I enjoy the ATC during flights. Lastly, how does Vanessa keep her iPad cool? I battle this with Florida sun all the time. Great, fun video, look forward to watching more.
@@chrisreagan8651 I’m glad you found the video! Yeah, definitely should avoid fuel at EWY if possible. Vanessa is pretty careful when it comes to fuel. She always tops off, even when she doesn’t need to. We have an audio recorder. Next flight I will try to capture all the audio. If we go to The Bahamas the audio should be interesting. Her iPad that is running Foreflight hasn’t had any problems with overheating. She always has air blowing on it from the vent. Just need to get airborne pretty quickly in the summertime. Flying in Florida in the summer is an adventure. We are looking forward to the cooler months and calmer weather.
@@MarionBlair yes! That’s right. Good eye. It’s a 1966 172G with the six cylinder Continental engine. We’ve had it for a few years. Been a great plane.
Great video. I love flying to Key West

@@paullapointe1266 All good with the gas cap, but I’ll have to check for the future. Thank you!!!
Well done you two! I’m hoping to fly my 182 down there this winter from ATL

Hi - I like how she uses a checklist during the pre-flight.

Awesome
Most guys say, "Happy Wife, Happy Life". With her flying it's more like, "Happy Wife spares your life".
BTW, why do they call it Runway 9, when there is literally only one runway? Not a pilot (yet) just curious.
@@5Ring No doubt! gotta keep your wife happy!
@@5Ring The runway is named for the heading you take when landing and taking off.
Yall should do a vid flying under the palm beach C very scenic but trumps TFR is active

Mine overheats easily also. (yoke mount). I bought a small USB powered fan which I'm going to try. Once airborne, it's fine.
Great video! What year is your 172? Is that the 0300 Continental.
