    I had already seen a short vid of your fall and found it quite shocking cos the wobble seemed to come from nowhere - and I guess it makes us aware that it can happen to any of us when we least expect it. So glad to hear you didn't suffer lasting damage and great to hear your good advice on protective gear. Time for me to check out the lazyrolling gear....

    damn bro. that crash was posted everywhere a cpl weeks ago. didnt know that was you. this is why im always tellin ppl that top speed is basically the last thing we should be worrying about with eskating.. even a experienced rider like yourself hit something soooo small and came off. skateboards arent meant to take impact at high speeds. they have tiny wheels. even a 8”/200mm is small compared to other vehicles. momentum and physics will send us right off the board over 30mph if we hit something in the road while standing on a piece of wood…soo many cool transitions we can do as skaters other than straight line top speeds…. heal up brotha 🤙🏼

    Skateboard companies, particularly electric, need to redesign the basics of design for steering geometry, specifically the rear trucks. It’s insanely stupid that we use rear trucks that turn opposite the front, as that inherently creates speed wobbles. I’ve figured out how to get incredibly nimble carving with absolute stability at any speed: I reverse my rear trucks to turn with the front, then add surf adapters to allow much more front turning and the rear adapter for lean ability. The rear turning in the same direction as the front makes the board want to straighten and smooth out, when disrupted by rough patches that would otherwise start a wobble, while also keeping the rear planted and gripping through tight corners. I put a quick video on my channel to explain the set-up.

  • @esk8spirit362
    @esk8spirit362 2 года назад

    This is exactly why you don't ride fast with bindings on your board, that crash could have been much softer without them. People usually don't listen until they experience it themselves. Good you didn't really hurt yourself,

    Glad you’re ok and the gear did its thing.
    Do you think think you would have had those kind of speed wobbles on other channel trucks, like Trampa?
    I like the idea of a better steering more carvey mountain board, but if this is the trade off I think I’d stick with channel trucks and just use a different (slower) board if I want a carve ride.

  • @dimos15

    Damn you are very lucky. That's why I don't like mountain boards.. To go fast you need reverse kingpin trucks with split angle. Also having bindings is extremely unsafe when you crash..
