Telfair was a 5’10 PG with no jump shot that carved out a decade in the NBA- I would say he lived up to all expectations. Basketball people know he had a limited skill set because he was drafted in the mid first round. PG were being drafted much higher that had a higher ceiling.

I moved to NY from the Bahamas and was told by this scout I was better than Telfair.....didn't even get a chance to play for my school. Even worse I had a scout tell me IN the Bahamas he saw Jason Kidd & at 15 I was far ahead of him. So in a perfect world I am an all star PG fringe HOFer or a vet that had a lengthy career 😩 my game was Kemba/Kryie in 97-99 I never got a chance to hoop much after the summer of 2000

Patrick Sparks.....Louisville versus Kentucky pressure free throws to close out the game. Big time UL fan I watched the darius Washington game and telfair was supposed to go to the cards but was the first high schooler drafted under I think 6'2". Great video keep it up, no substitute for hard work. Also pitino recruited telfair over rondo because of his jump shot. Rondo wanted to go to the cards bad but Ricky P didn't want him.

Louiville had a squad that year. he wouldve been great and probably went to a better situation than teh blazers.

Telfair pretty much became a journeyman in the NBA during his career. He's one of the few cases where I think one or two years in college would've helped his career. But if you're projected as a lottery pick coming straight out of high school, you can't fault the young man. I'm a UofL fan and would've loved to see him play for the Cards and have him play with that team, but like I said, if you're projected as a lottery pick it seemed like a great decision at the time.

Being from NY I know all about the Telfair hype. He was the first Point Guard from High School to the Pros. PG is the toughest position in Basketball, something he wasn't ready for. Only point guard I can see making that transition is probably Ben Simmons if he went straight from high school.

They were never too short or couldn't shoot good enough for their positions. They simply couldn't ever adjust to playing NBA level b-ball over an 82 game schedule, the way Rajon Rondo, J.J. Barea, Chris Paul, Nate Robinson and other small guards were able to.

Not understanding the responsibilities of that. Seriously immature person that didn't have the right people around him along with so many gold digging women that hindered his life! He needed a sit down. And the way he acted in court was just embarrassing to see a guy of that statue who hasn't learned anything in life. He'll come out better and move forward.

His NBA hopes didnt dry up with them misses. He was only 6'1 and was a combo guard. Wasnt a true pt guard or true shooting guard. He was a lousy outside shooter. That the truth. At least Telfair was a true point. Both believed the hype so much but neither were going to be much more than backups in the league at best. Telfair was better because he had a true position.Shaun Livingston was a 6'7 pg and was a much bigger prospect than both of these guys but had basically a career ending injury that he came back from to win a couple rings with Golden State as an excellant bench player.

The reason darius’s numbers went down his sophomore year at Memphis was because that team was loaded. I dont think coming back hurt his draft stock. He didnt play any competition his freshman year but in his sophomore year he lead Memphis to the sweet 16 or the elite 8. For him it all came down to his size, lack of athleticism and like u said at the end of the video,he really wasnt a pg. Kinda reminds me of aj abrams that played for Texas around that time. Homie was playing sg putting up crazy numbers alongside dj augustin and i think he was on that team with KD but dude was barely 6 feet playing sg. No way that was gonna translate to the pros.
