Sebastian Telfair....had that fire in high school and after watching through the fire documentary, he looked like the next big thing coming out of high school, but back when the nba still had that players could come out of high school and get drafted he was drafted thirteenth overall by Portland...was also a member of the infamous KG to Boston trade and was traded many times....had all the talent but trouble followed telfair off the court...this is what the upcoming nba rookies need to take note of at the rookie symposium:surround yourself with the right people and keep those that have your best interest at heart...

Or should he focus on mapping out a sound game plan that he can put into action when he gets out? What’s the point of your goofy comment? What better advice do you have? Zeus Luby I feel you bro. I’m not saying he’s supposed to ruminate in it. I’m saying I wouldn’t suggest someone to simply do three years in jail as if it weren’t nothing. Especially when dude has no prior violent crimes. I get technically it’s illegal bc it’s New York but with the history of this country throwing the book at minorities, I’m not cool with that. Dude was going through a lot with his wife and probably was moving stuff around. Its on record that he was definitely profiled and search. A year, maybe, but 3 years, come on man. Tons of talent came outta the ACC and I loved Duke just as much as my hometown Memphis Tigers,my blood is really blue😂..That era is forever gone, especially with the placement of NIL and legalization of sports betting..Money will bring a political entertainment aspect that was previously filled with an authentic tenacity solely directed at the greater good of the team as a whole.. That pure authenticity no longer exists,it's absent amongst the high school level in the modern era as well..Money is now the bottom denominator. Financially driven revenue now creates the decided narrative for NCAA basketball not acquired talent combined with supreme team chemistry.. Within the next decade of basketball seasons the sport will be visually paralleled to the well written scripted pro wrestling or the WWE...But the public will continue to be entranced by its effectively manipulative entertaining efficiency..Just as we have always been, knowing that a large portion is predetermined..or as we call it where I'm from This shit has been rigged😂😂..

I heard the rumblings back in high school from Jay Bilas, about the talent and the disrespect towards others, no matter how much you try to tell someone to slow down and be humble, most will call you a hater and ignore your plea for them to get help, I'm really surprised Rondo's career never took a similar turn, he was very disrespectful but not as talkative.

His cousin Stephen Marbury was my classmate in high school. Stephon was arrogant, cool, cocky sometimes disrespectful due to his superstar halo. Stephon became a lot more mature and respectful after his father passed and eventually became a role model and a hero in China. I feel proud of the dude. One of my high school teachers told me Stephon's older brother is even more talented than him but got into drug and law issues. His younger cousin Zack Marbury was pretty good also, cocky and disrespectful or an asshole. Saw him bullying and saying racial slurs to a few Asian kids in front of my eyes. Telfair's time was a few years later. I was hoping another Lincoln Railsplitter will raise high. Both Telfair and Lance Stephenson got great chances to be superstars, unfortunately, raised with great talents, and were destroyed by their personalities.

I seen his breakfast club interview about a year ago. From what I got in the interview, I really don’t believe basketball was his truly love. His mindset was stuck like he was a in high school but reality he was just mediocre player with New York hype. He was talking in the interview as if him & Lebron was gonna rock out when he played a few games for the cavs. Even when he mentioned KD & Russ with OKC. I was just like WOW!!! I think it was the attention, hype, & money for him. He didn’t have enough discipline. He did make nice stints in the NBA. I think everyone was look him to be like a Chris Paul when deep down he had NBA journeyman written on him. Lottery pick out of high school. He was only 5’11 with no jump shot. To this day, that Adidas got him in the first round. Going to Louisville for a year or 2 might have helped him in the long run. Rajon Rondo & Kyle Lowry (point guards class on 2004) went to college, matured, played in Big East & SEC against top notch schools. Telfair was talented but Rondo & Lowry had that dog in them. Both went on the win NBA Champions & both became All Stars. It made since for him to leave out of high school for the money but it wasn’t great for his game in the long term.

Did you listen to this video man? Mediocre? So you think the NBA invested a 13th draft pick and adidas, a $20 million deal on mediocre? Lol there’s not enough hype in the world. Do you know how hard it is to win as much as he did in NYC (esp Brooklyn) where you have to earn everything and you’re going against dogs in high school every night? As the guy from this video said on his first Telfair video “ telfair and more pressure than lebron coming in to league.” Not sure if it was bad luck or what but dude was never on a decent team and was written off from jump. It’s hard to do anything when you’re a small point guard and your team won’t go to war for you? And he’s right if he played with lebron they would’ve played well together. If you watched that series she was a much better match up for rondo than mo williams but he had been so shitted on by that point in his career he didn’t even get the chance . Mind you he had some really good games for that cavs team when he did play. There a lot of politics at play in the league. The powers that be didn’t like that he was smarter enough to skip college and take all that money and they made him pay for it.

HE was hyped up and reminded me of Lil Zane but with his short Buss in NBA the way the media tried to promote him but teammates wherever he went seem to freeze him out lowkey when he wasn't bringing the ball up the court ,maybe he could have been a napoleon complex ego type in practice. Also he looked shorter than 6 feet and never made any noise .when u are 6'4 n up with his type of game its heavy competitive where u are in the middle of the pack but when u are under6'3 there isn't NO ROOM FOR ERROR, Telfar was like the boy next door where even Me personally being 6 ft myself felt like I dominated and crossed him ,blocked his layups and threw way better passes all through high school but a year later you hear ur neighbor going straight to the League. Lol.and all u can do is root and wish the best for him .His gift was his speed otherwise he was average at best as a guard.Like hip hop Rap the NBA will expose all of ur flaws if ur not showing perseverance and focus.

Sebastian Telfair should have definitely went to college, but I don't think he would have went into the first round of the draft if he did. Adidas gave him a sneaker deal and that's why he went into the league from High School. Sneaker deals at that time were hard to come by. First round money and an Adidas sneaker deal is hard to pass up. Message to all, you gotta stay humble and hustle as if your head is on fire.

I see it’s a lot of hate on NY, stop always putting all people from ny in a basket. First I don’t speak on anyone that’s first. Second everyone is not the same. I hold people accountable as individuals. His problem was they treated him like a baby and a superstar and it went to his head. He was undersize for his position. He should have went to college but he was the meal ticket for his family, so he did what he feels was best. In the city most kids that play that can really hoop can’t maintain those grades unfortunately. Now the word overrated is a word I don’t use to speak on other men. If you feel that then prove you are better period. He couldn’t maintain its not for everyone. If you think everyone will be a star in the league something is wrong with you. Plus their are a lot of great players from the city. Some of you cowards stop throwing dirt on peoples names.

Honestly, he just wasn't good enough. I was the biggest Bassy stan to the point where it made me look delusional. He had some great stretches in Minnesota and Phoenix but he just didn't have the size and touch to be a consistent force on the court. He was short (by NBA standards) and did not have the vertical leap or touch around the basket to finish at a decent rate, and his jumper was just not consistent enough. On top of that, once his confidence left, that was it...

Looks like dude's own attitude brought him down. Only a cocky person would be driving on a suspended license, parking where he wants, while high and carrying guns he should know he has, smh. He was good on the court. Just needed to quickly humble himself and lose the attitude. Probably had "yes people"around him, not telling him to slow down and be more responsible in the position he was in. Also turning down $16 mil overseas just to come back to the states? Wrong move.
