love watching the progress on your car,its going to look really great when its done,i even brought a diecast yellow rs2000 lol, rather have the real thing mind, great content and looking forward to the next one
Hi Mark my nephew is changing an mk2 escort round light into a rs2000, do you know of any replica kits available out there, lights grill bezels, were here in Ireland 🇮🇪 a good place for rally cars but we've had no luck so far thanks.
Hi Kevin, I don’t know of any sorry, you could speak to GS Escorts they’ll know if there’s any available, if not, the only option is to find original stuff and restore it 👍🏻
Thanks, eBay, here’s a link for the clips, the same seller had the rivets, but showing out of stock now. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132406113198?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=mmUnAUvdTRW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=EJNlTSzzRk6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I can’t help you, cos I’ve just looked where I got mine from and the price has tripled 😱 There are probably cheaper alternatives that do exactly the same job, but I haven’t tried them🤷♂️
Great job mate, what Seam sealer are you using ? Looking forward to seeing some paint on it 👍 I finished my mk1 rs2000 last year after a ten year resto 😅
Nice work, but factory finish (whatever that is) cannot be replicated. The line workers were instructed how to apply sealer, rust prevention etc but it was an entirely manual process resulting in no two cars being exactly the same. I personally would have painted then protected the underside in order to preserve it for years to come.
Thanks Arthur, It’s just as close as I can get it to how it was, minus the rust😁 It won’t see salt, and will be kept in a heated garage when it’s finished, so should last a fair while.
Emm , missing the bits with masking tape? , how many did i weld because the rust started where the goop gun was missed , don't be a ford production line shortcut man, get them coated and thats a job done proper.
Well done mark.
Thanks😁
Nice work Mark, it's funny how much effort is put in to replicating the shoddy work they did at the factory!
I find “that’ll do” comes naturally 😁
Juat watched every episode in 2 days thats some work there, i wish i could get my welds that tidy lol
Thanks for taking the time😁
As for welds, there all ground off anyway😂

Thanks Justin 😁
Great work mate 👌 that spray sealer doesn't go far, I used a full box on mine! Always motivational to see new bits going on 👍
Thanks, 5 tubes gone in seconds 😁
Fantastic effort 👍 It’s looking great
Thanks Wesley 😁

I have used some of that Poundland paint myself and I am quite surprised how good it is
It works well, but I must confess, I don’t even know if it’s cheap, my wife bought it for something else so I borrowed it😁
I think it’s about £2.50p but it’s cheap enough for an undercoat you can get it in gloss or Matt black
@@MarkEdwards
Isn't it a pound then?

They should be done for false description
looking good. where did you get those fuel clips and rivets from, please

coming on nicely Mark 👌👌👍
Thankyou👍🏻
Cracking works Merps 👍😎........very educational to thickos like me 😆
Thanks Al, don’t take this as education though, it’s probably complete rubbish 😁
How many tubes of sealer did you use?
Hi Geoff, I used 20 tubes, 10 per side👍🏻
@@MarkEdwards thanks. Getting to that point with my rs turbo resto.
Yeah, I’ve seen the Mk3 and 4’s have a similar finish underneath, I’m not even sure this is the right stuff, but it looked close enough for me😁
@@MarkEdwards its the closest you'll get. 3m do a similar spray sealer but not in beige
Been following this just revisited 😂 Any advice on where to get a seam sealer gun from?

Thankyou👍🏻
It’s Teroson 9320 Ochre, I’m not sure it’s an exact match to the original, but it’s near enough for me 😁
I commented but it’s disappeared 🤔
Looking good Mark :)
Thanks Lee😁,
It was saying there was a comment before anyone else, but nothing there when I looked🤷♂️

I commented like this but also asked there the rivets were from - but now I’ve seen you answer someone else anyway :)

Don’t worry, I’ll cover it all in Shultz when I’m finished😁
