Every time I think I need a new boutique amp or some crazy expensive pedal I just watch JD plug straight into a deluxe and absolutely crush it
JD is the real deal, I'm a believer. The drummer and bassist are amazing - full credit!
Saw JD in a tiny club in Phoenix last year. Red 335 and a Super Reverb all night long... LOUDEST show I've ever been to in my life. It was like being locked in a closet with Cream--and that's not a bad thing!
Andreas MacAllan now imagine how loud his old Marshall rig was.
Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!
Oh my GOD it's refreshing to hear someone who ISN'T an srv clone.
MrIkesimba Yes, as much as I love SRV, it really is nice when someone can interpret the blues without being a Stevie Ray clone!
That's exactly how JD Simo started out, but yes, he has moved on massively since then.
Also there are a plenty of Robben Ford clones.
SRV clones are the only music I listen to.
@@MontyCantsin5 Really? I've not seen or heard anything from him that's even remotely SRVish.
This guy is one of the best bluesman of the moment !!!
That slide tone could swim through land! So much stank on it!🔥
jd is a breath of frsh air. started out on the street corners at nashville.
JD was second warmup band to Allman Betts show last night. Stole the show!
Andraleiea gettin' her groove on! She got the space jam thang!
Thanks, Grandude!
Tight band! The drummer really stands out. Authentic sounding stuff.
I cant help but think jd gonna blow the minds of allman n betts when they meet up....what a really cool billing.....
Lucky enough to see JD with Tommy Emmanuel in Coventry, England last night. Two fantastic guitarists and entertainers, also taking time after the show to speak to fans (thank you). If you get the chance go see
donald wilbur how did I miss this?! I bet they were at Warwick Arts Centre?
he play, feel, speak about music with knowledge and that's enough for me
I feel like I just took a bath in a big pool of reverb.
JD is the Man. He has chops for days, but goes up a very different road when he turns his hand to the blues. A master of the trade.
Tightest three piece band!!
Holy cow man... Bass is HOT!
She could smile a little
Awesome! That Pelham Blue ES is killing it. His voice reminds me more and more of Henrik Freischlader. Refreshing ole Blues!
That 355 is SWAG
Love JD. First met him when he played with the Don Kelley Band in Nashville, oh so many years ago. Even got a JD Simo guitar pick!
This dude is single handedly keepin the music alive. KILLIN the Magic Sam!!!!!!!
Single handedly??? What about Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr, John Meyer, Derek Trucks and a thousand others, still playing not only the blues but this very song every night of the week.
Surely an old soul. JD always amaze me.
Awesome JD....ruling!!!!
I could listen to this all day.....all year...
This is great music, I'm happy to have found it
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! goose bumps! you guys ROCK!!!
So powerful and authentic !!! LOVE IT !!!
The drummer is exceptional
Can’t wait for the new record!
The only thing going through my head throughout the entire video was 'Shiiiiiit JD sounds so authentic'!

It goes strait to my soul !!! !!! !!!
Damn can’t believe I’m just really discovering JD..I’ve herd his name a ton but never listened..glad I did today 🙌🏾
Wow, what a great energy, blessed by god!
Wow, they improvise like hell and play off the seat of their pants. Bass player has some serious groove as does the Drummer. Together theyre killing it.
Just saw JD and band play tonight. Instant fan!
His voice sounds great here!
This is an unreal show!
Crushing it.
.....This set is Aawesome
Wow, JD rules!
And the band rocks!
@@e.tienne6600 thanks! :)
Saw him for the first time last night. Great stuff!
WoW what a talent...Stunnin
Awesome exciting blues!
This fender amp's reverb is good!
yesssssssssss!!!! love that reverb
Epic JD🔥🔥🔥👊🏻
Brilliant.
So happy to have come across JD recently by way of Daniel Donato. This is awesome stuff! The whole band is killing it but JD is something else, what a monster of a player.
Such a great player, great trio too. I love the sound of those drums, fantastic drummer.
Drums often sound really good in this studio. Very simple room micing, and that helps make that great rock n roll sound. Lots of newer bands come on, and often I like their live sound here better than their record.
And yes, he's a great drummer also. Not afraid to widen the pocket and let that room reverb play it's part
Such a minimal setup...yet sounds so good.
Use headphones if you got em, nice jam at the end
That color is so cool
The world would be much better off if there were more JD Simo's!! Always brings it and gives it up to us wanna' be players.
Great band. Props to the drummer.
killer bass player too
This is fucking crazy good! JD, I’ll be there in Paris to see u and the band. They are amazing!
Love to jam with this guy.....
sweet, got my face meltage for the day
amazing, could listen to that all day long, best thing heard for a long time i think? hope he can get over to UK one day?
I'm diggin it
JD killed it in Tarrytown last night, opening for Allman-Betts band. Amazing.
Love his psychedelic twist on some blues
That old blues stuff stay's strong. Those Excello blues cats were just great. Check them out. Lester, Slim, Harpo etc.
slim harpo...jd has got it down....then throws in the wah...reverb....good stuff..
This guy rocks
J.D.!!!!
Have Mercy!
This was one of those hits, when you let all of the air out of your lungs,... then just pull one long toke!
Other than the interviewer cutting him off from time to time, this performance was LIT! 🔥🤙🏼
That bass was next level.
The slide with the Wah is really great sounding
I used to watch Luther Tucker play the Magic Sam song in a small club in the early 90’s. I always thought it was a play on the Green Acres theme until now.
Jesus! This guy is somethin' else!
With all the wacky jamming and jazzy drumming style , it reminds me of Alvin Lee and Ten Years After .
I wish my drummer would play like that sometimes...
I hear ya !!!!!!
The Yardbirds used to play this number at the Crawdaddy club London in 1965.
Great, JD and the rythm sec. ! Why does he remind me so much of jack black? :D
Say jd play tonight in Nj-this guy is phenomenal
Man that was a kool version of Little Bit!!!!!!!
Special my friend.
Ol’ blue sounds great. Bass player was gettin it as well.
thank you :)
@@Andraleia you're killing' it!
Also...I’m not a drummer but dangggg that kit sounds good
This gentleman knows how to let it go !
Grand !
very cool
Enorme !
Go get that Earl Hooker record he was incredible Rock on JD you guys are wonderful
Met JD and Nick Sterling at Warsaw Wally's here in Phoenix back in 2000. JD was 15 years old and Nick was 10. Got a pic I took of them both jamming with I believe the house band The Rocket 88's. They both recorded and released live albums that year. I've often wondered if any of that was recorded at that gig. It's been great seeing how far their careers have gone. Love JD's band. The drummer and bass player really drive his playing well. Kind of reminds me of Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. He definitely has his own sound.
Freaking Genius
Cool !😎✌🎸
That Gibby sounds fire!
"Dig the thing, man." :D
Saw them at The Pour House in Charleston SC. I live 5 doors down from the venue. Travesty that only 25 people were there. My old man got to fondle Jd's ES 5 and we hung out with the band after for drinks. Will never forget it.
OMG, I'm just discovering this guy. Soon as he started talking about Lightning Hopkins I was a fan.
Rythmn section here is awesome
gutsy, risky, non cliche, blues playing right here
So good. Owsley can you hear me now
Only 39000 views 1 year after? Something's really wrong with the world today! I dig JD, hope he stays healthy and sane
