    A big thanks to everyone involved in bringing Into the Spiderverse to life, so much beautiful art ahhh

      This was a great video! I have a question though. Since the amount of details that is great exists. The animators didn’t draw each line. Did they use like a tool for this?

    • @DanielAngArt
      @DanielAngArt  Год назад +1

      @@Sulfuric-Dioxide Thanks for watching! Are you referring to the amount of detail in the backgrounds of the film?

    • @Sulfuric-Dioxide
      @Sulfuric-Dioxide Год назад +1

      @@DanielAngArt Yes, and the simplification of the background. With the way it's moving it looks near impossible to animate all of that. Or is it hidden behind the giant corporation wall of animation techniques at sony?

    • @DanielAngArt
      @DanielAngArt  Год назад +3

      @@Sulfuric-Dioxide In one of the behind the scenes videos for Spiderverse, I believe they said things like window lights, people, and cars are all animated as coloured shapes that move on a flat 2D plane. Then they are layered in the background to give the illusion of complex visual noise, when in reality, they're just colourful blobs.

    The beauty of animation is its unrealism. Not everything needs to realistic or live action.
    This is my favorite animation production, because they still incorporate traditional and digital.

    Found this very helpful!! Spiderverse is one of my insp for background art ;w; I’m still struggling a bit with the tiny details in buildings (billboards, details on rooftops, etc.) but I’m still learning. Glad I found this channel!

    I love the glitching at the beginning!! And the way spot was drawn, and the way they draw the spidey sense^^ its a cool job

      The glitching in the opening logos is such a cool way to introduce the audience to what Spiderverse is all about!

    Thank you for posting this. I really love the style of these movies and wanted to see what elements were necessary in recreating it. It's funny, but I've always been drawn to graphic reduction but I never new what that style was called. You solved a huge mystery for me! Also, would you say the old WPA National Park posters (I think they were made around the 1930-1940's) were a form of graphic reduction? I find myself drawn to those as well.

    • @DanielAngArt
      @DanielAngArt  Год назад +2

      Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I definitely think the WPA National Park posters were an earlier form of graphic reduction, as they are categorised by very hard shapes, and large blocks of colour. For example, some of the way trees were drawn were 1 shape and some lines to indicate leaves.

    I’m calling it right now. Disney will start working its way back to the look and feel of “One Hundred and One Dalmations” (1961). Not necessarily full 2D animation, of course. But the thick, black, Xerox outlines mashed up with 3D animation. You’ll see….

    INTO THE SPIDERVERSE is a great movie, but Sony was afraid of the even more experimental version proposed by Oscar and Emmy winner Alberto Mielgo. He left the conceptual and stylistic bases of what the film should be, but we will never know what its full version would have been like.

    It's cheap and lazy. The character designs are cool in places. But filter vomit, whiz bang loud imagery, and constantly throwing stuff at the camera is a cheap trick. It's easy mode to feign cool. It's the stupid version. Anyone can come up with the idea to glitch imagery or do something in a different referenced style.
    They should have thrown the spiderverse idea out... focus on SPIDER MAN and told a good story and made good animation that included acting.
