The issue addressed at 37:30 could also be fixed by using a sorter immediately after the vacuums rather than after two different resources share a track.
Wow. I have been looking at the logic switches for weeks and I keep thinking....um, no. This helps a lot, makes me see that it can be used efficiently. Thanks!
hahahah i have subscribed one because this was very helpful and two, when you occasionally get frustrated and make an "arghh" sound makes me laugh. keep it up!
haha glad you're enjoying it... I'm working on an automatic factory video currently... I'm half way through editing the video. I have edited most of the frustrated moments out of it but maybe I'll keep a few in just for you! :D thanks for the sub and I hope you enjoy my future content!
Thanks I appreciate the comment! That being said though the subs are nice, It's about developing the videos so they help people out or are enjoyable. I'm still finding my feet :)
Get the "longer power lines" mod, that will help :) Vanilla power line length is annoyingly short. As for the video, good information. I haven't messed with logic gates myself yet, always been thinking "I should check them out one day" but so far.. I know that using them properly can really bring a whole new level to automated multi-product creating factories, but there's some stuff and thought what needs to be placed behind the design of such a system and I haven't yet gotten there. So your video was nice, just what is needed :)
Yeh that mod would be very useful! I'm glad you liked the information in the video, I've got another logic gate video I'll be uploading soon as well. Logic gates are difficult to learn but open the settlements to soo many more options! :) Best of luck when you try it out yourself. If you do struggle message me and I'll see if I can help you!
You CAN place all ammo plants in the same circuit, its a bit tedious but possible. What you do is remove the conveyor belt piece leading to the ammo plant in order to isolate it. Add a seperate power source + terminal and set the ammo you want to produce. Replace the conveyor belt piece (ammo plant should be powered by two power sources at this point) and remove power source 2 + terminal. Repeat for every ammo plant.
its what i did and i turned vault 88 into a factory that makes all avaible ammo types and heavy combat armor without mods, cheats, or logic switches...
i'll get working on that actually. Haven't done it yet since I'm still working out timing and certain bugs with how materials don't like going where they need to.
Beth needed to take a few notes from the Sims in terms of settlement building. Would've done wonders for construction. Also: BETHESDA! FIX THE DAMN COLLISION PROBLEM! STOP DROPPING MY STUFF ALL OVER THE DAMN FLOOR WHEN I LEAVE!
Nicely done! In the future though, I'd recommend that you record your builds during the day time, and slowing way way down with your movements because it's hard to follow what you're doing with you darting around constantly, which makes it unpleasant to watch.
Do you have a video showing how to set up the various lines in order to send "steel" for example to two or more factories? I was hoping you'd show how to do it in this video but you sped it up too fast so I couldn't tell. Thanks.
Always wanted to try fallout 4 haha keep up the good work man!! Oh btw you need to improve your thumbnails :) its good but i know u can do better :) anyways have a great day man or night
Is there a way to reverse the power on a belt? For example I would like to use the splitting belts to go from 2 to 1. Seems like they can only split not join
Unfortunately there isn't currently, unless there's a mod recently released. That is why I think it's important to keep them in line and use my gravity based hopper system rather than the actual hoppers offered which can get jammed.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I am having trouble putting each ammo plant on a separate circuit though. I'm sure its prob simple to do, but i just cant seem to figure it out. Can you explain?
Hi yes, the issue is you can't have them on the same circuit, so the most important point is to setup (ideally perfect) parallel circuits, on top of one another. The bottom circuit should be the ammunition factory, set the ammunition units each with a seperate computer (for simplicity and on a different circuit to the others) you should be able to test this by having each of them produce a particular ammo type with the raw materials directly in the machine first at the same time. Once that works you can feed all the ammo onto one belt and to an end point chest so to speak. With that done you then can built the upper parallel circuit which feeds raw materials and splits them to each of the ammunition circuits. Do note you should have to produce to different ammunition types, a minimum of three different circuits. I hope this helps :D
You used the console to add all those components? I'm having a serious problem getting all the components and then moving them all to product in high volume. Any trick to do this? I'm in survival.
Yes I did use console. In survival mode the only way you can achieve large amounts of components is by buying them in batch at a trader. or buying/scavenging all the items you can and breaking them down. It is very difficult in survival unless you're a high level with high strength with perks (to maximise your carry weight). As well as increasing your speech so that barter is much cheaper. Consider investing in scavenging perks as well. Not to mention placing and manning scavenging benches in your settlement. Hope this helps!
A bit, how do you break them down to components? The rest i understood and already done so, my char is level 97 at this time It's just the contraptions DLC itself that baffles me (the mechanics).
Ahh thank you. I didn't want the video to be an hour long so I ended up speeding through moments I thought weren't important. Next time I'll make an effort to keep the videos shorter/ only speed up when I know it's just placing objects. Thanks for mentioning as it'll help me improve future videos.
jesse B Fertilizer isn't TOO, too hard to amass if you have all your settlements with Branham troughs, and vendors sell bags of fertilizer regularly, but I know what you mean. TotalXclipse First of all, awesome, awesome, thorough video - watching every minute (and some segments multiple times), but 18,000 gears, 19,000 screws 15,000 copper?! LOL My biggest curiosity is how you have THOUSANDS of lead (my limiting reagent). I can NEVER seem to acquire enough lead, because 5lb and 10lb weights aren't sold from vendors with great regularity (and only provide a couple lead), and the bigger barbells from gyms earlier in the game have been looong exhausted. Where the heck do you get so much lead??
Hahaha That was definitely the feel I was going for :s Truthfully, I'm still trying to find the right balance and sound for these types of videos so appreciate the comment. Some people can't stand the music in game, others no music so it's just finding the right type of track. Will work on it!
Should just not use music if you are going to use shit like you did in this video. That criticism aside the video was useful and kind of surprised it only hit my recommended list today.
This video is confusing the hell out of me, I keep switching to different points in the video and I'm really confused on whether I should pay any attention to building before you start building the conveyer belts. I just want to be able to build a Ammo factory but no one has a video where they build it from scratch.
Hey sorry you're finding it difficult to understand the video if you skip between parts it will make it more difficult. If you want I'll do a series of short videos on how it works step by step. In this video the first few minutes just talk about what the factory does and what Logic gates we'll be using. At 3.05 I start setting up the logic gates and how they work. The lights that I string up at 5 mins are to show both how the logic gates work but also which machines will be on when you've got it all strung up Once you get the gist of the logic gates (you will need to connect them to the factory) I then start the actually factory build at 10minutes. I hope that helps! If you need a very basic ammo factory build check out this video ruclips.net/video/nBOidBsFG1U/видео.html it's just a basic production facility the only difference is add the ammo facility and place the required items in it when you're choosing the ammunition on the pc! hope that helps! Good luck, if you do have problems let me know though
TotalXclipse hi man. Thx for your time. I cant figure out for the life of me how to get my recycling set up to run on to separate switches or figure out a logic gate set up. If you look at my video I posted you’ll see what I’m trying to do. I want the hoppers not to run until I either flip another switch or have some kind of delay set
In the dark, really, no so quite simple. sit in a chair , takes 15 secs. Helpful vid,, but you could slow down and overview the line and diversion tracks from beginning to end of the production line. Even tho you may know what your going for , maybe focus on the viewer and the info which can reiterate the big picture, or i missed another vid of yours and im confused , good info , am a subscriber, so respect for jumping into a challenging topic.
Some good points. Firstly I appreciate the subscribe and if there are any topics you do want me to tackle, if I can I will :) I understand the points you're making, and agree I should slow down and focus on the viewer as they may not have the same level of understanding :) I'll focus on making my future videos clearer for you :)
I agree. No offense but I couldn't see the first portion of the video because your flashlight wasn't on. However, I was still able to follow along. Thx for posting.
Why the hell is it dark on the big reveal!?!? You friggin lost me dude... I put hours of work into these gates for the end to be dark I have no idea how this machine is working ...
you should definitely try planning ahead and try to build it off camera before you record it would look much better. we are trying to learn from your video but you keep removing and rebuilding, im lost. you could have done the same video in 10 min if you remove all the useless part (dont be offended i might not use the good word, im not english). by trying it off cam you would have know exactly what to do. but for what i managed to understand its helpful (but too long and too much part that you are erasing)
Thanks, you're right, I had originally built it but once I rebuilt it, I found myself adding things and getting carried away. Sorry it wasn't as helpful as it could have been!
TotalXclipse I built a replica but I'm having an issue where the 3 fusion generators feeding the ammo plants is backfeeding the conveyors which renders the logics useless. Do you have a corrective suggestion? I am on Ps4 and I'm not currently running any mods.
In all honesty, I hate it too... I started building the factory but ran out of space to continue building. Absolutely sucked but that's the reason why. Don't worry in fallout 76 I'll be doing a lot more builds and I'll try to plan them better :D Thanks for the comment and checking out my video!
I've been having a hard time understanding the power switches and how they are used properly. in your video you explained it, but all i'm seeing is a mass jumble of wires and some switches on the wall. please excuse my inexperience. I never could figure out the switches for the traps either.
I'm really busy this week. But when i get a day off. possibly on Sunday maybe I'll do a really basic breakdown. As I'm sure a fair amount of people have the same problem. All of us start somewhere! :)
I love how the music makes this feel like an episode of "How it's Made." Great job guy!
Some people hate it, but some love it :D
I was aiming at a sims style build
The issue addressed at 37:30 could also be fixed by using a sorter immediately after the vacuums rather than after two different resources share a track.
Wow. I have been looking at the logic switches for weeks and I keep thinking....um, no. This helps a lot, makes me see that it can be used efficiently. Thanks!

how do you only have 730 subs dude you need 100000 subs keep up the good work ;]
Thanks I appreciate the comment! That being said though the subs are nice, It's about developing the videos so they help people out or are enjoyable. I'm still finding my feet :)

you can use corpse as meat in the factory
Thank you so much! Exactly what I needed help on
No problem, I'm glad I was able to help you! I'll be improving on this factory soon so keep your eyes out!
Always wanted to try fallout 4 haha keep up the good work man!! Oh btw you need to improve your thumbnails :) its good but i know u can do better :) anyways have a great day man or night
yeh, I know. How do you do yours?
i download good fonts and i have a template that i made
but what software do you use?
+TotalXclipse photoshop :)
If only I could afford that!
Is there a way to reverse the power on a belt? For example I would like to use the splitting belts to go from 2 to 1. Seems like they can only split not join

You can break them down using one of the machines, I can't remember which one though.
TotalXclipse ill make a search on the web.
Well i can't find it in any tutorial, if you remember please do do share!
hi mr xclipse..did you know that you can use the vault population terminal for youf factory? :') just wondering.
I did not! That could lead to some really interesting factory developments!
Helps or a lot but the fact of speeding things up makes things so confusing
Ahh thank you. I didn't want the video to be an hour long so I ended up speeding through moments I thought weren't important. Next time I'll make an effort to keep the videos shorter/ only speed up when I know it's just placing objects. Thanks for mentioning as it'll help me improve future videos.
Do you have a Cherry Mx Blue keyboard? I do and your keyboard sounds alike.
Yes, I use the Razer black Widow tournament edition keyboard which i's awesome! :)
I take it you must have a mechanical keyboard too?
Yep, I've got a CM Storm Quickfire Rapid TK
Nice! I was considering getting that one originally, do you like it?
It's better than any keyboards I've previously had but yes, I do like it. :) It's worth $85 or whatever it was.
gee how do you get that much fertiliser dude
jesse B Fertilizer isn't TOO, too hard to amass if you have all your settlements with Branham troughs, and vendors sell bags of fertilizer regularly, but I know what you mean.

Sean0886 press store wat 0.5 seconds then press scrap and you can dupe it
For the love of god please release an in time lapsed version. I will set through it
the background music ! it's horrible! it makes me feel like I'm stuck in some sort of wii golf/ wii sports game limbo
Hahaha That was definitely the feel I was going for :s
Truthfully, I'm still trying to find the right balance and sound for these types of videos so appreciate the comment. Some people can't stand the music in game, others no music so it's just finding the right type of track.

Nice Video but you should've muted the ingame music.
Glad you liked the video, the music's not in game, it's external. I just find the videos boring without some kind of background music :s
Why the hell is it dark on the big reveal!?!? You friggin lost me dude... I put hours of work into these gates for the end to be dark I have no idea how this machine is working ...
do you guys know that you can like your own comments

now make it Automatic lol
I'm currently building a factory that does exactly that. currently editting the first part now. :)
Nice
I have NO understanding in logistics, and you didn't really explain everything thoroughly for people like me, so I just gave up :/
Sorry you didn't find this video helpful, I actually have a basics guide to logic gates if you want a simplified version
not a bad video but I really wish you build things right and not have everything floating in the air. really takes away from it if you ask me.
In all honesty, I hate it too... I started building the factory but ran out of space to continue building. Absolutely sucked but that's the reason why. Don't worry in fallout 76 I'll be doing a lot more builds and I'll try to plan them better :D Thanks for the comment and checking out my video!
Uhh ...
the most confusing video EVER! :(
Sorry you feel that way. I thought I made it clear, what is it you are trying to build and what is it you're having the most difficulty on?
I've been having a hard time understanding the power switches and how they are used properly. in your video you explained it, but all i'm seeing is a mass jumble of wires and some switches on the wall. please excuse my inexperience. I never could figure out the switches for the traps either.
