I got this ending, but you can go a lot farther with each faction, you just have to do everything in a certain order because everything has a turning point. I'll give you guys a detailed summary on what exactly to do so SPOILERS but you have to know everything to do it properly For starters you need to do institutionalized with the minute men. To do this you continue with the Brotherhood questline to Outside the Wire. At some point you will give what's called the Network Snifer Holotape to Proctor Ingram. Just make sure to ask for it back, making her say "that's alright I already made another copy". This not only advances the Brotherhood questline but also allows you to bring the holotape to Sturges to use to get into the Institute. For the Brotherhood you can continue all the way up to Blind Bestrayal, talk Maxon out of killing Danse (with good charisma) and then go to the Prydwen after. You will then receive the rank of Paladin, get Danse's armour, and can still use Danse as a companion (in secret because he makes you temporary enemies with the Brotherhood). Just make sure to not go to the next mission with Captain Kells For the rail road and the institute advance until Underground Undercover, a rescuing synths mission for the railroad, all the way until it tells you to take out some guards in the institute , don't kill anyone for it will blow your cover in the institute. Instead advance in the questline with the institute until the battle of bunker hill. In this quest the Institute plans on taking synths in Bunker Hill, you can then warn the Railroad of the attack (which is an optional objective anyway). During this mission don't shoot anyone, not even the institute. You will then meet the synths you were supposed to capture, instead of capturing them, set them free, and only kill the courser. You then meet with Shaun, make sure to disagree with him for a peaceful banishment from the institute, causing you to fail Underground Undercover and the Battle of Bunker Hill (but that's what you want). After this mission Desdemonda will tell you to use the Minutemen to destroy the institute. Now you go with the minutemen, defend the castle (make sure all turning point quests, the previously stated Underground Undercover, Blind Bestrayal, and Battle of Bunker Hill are done before starting this) and then start the nuclear option. During this mission make sure you start the evacuation protocol at Shauns computer because if you don't the rail road will become hostile plus Preston doesn't like it. Also as a side note take 10 year old synth Shaun with you at the very end because he makes you a wicked gun. After that the Brotherhood, Railroad, and Minute Men will love you. And of course, you still can continue missions with all factions and with all the companions. Hope this helps, because quite frankly if you follow the guide in the video above you won't get the best experience out the game with this ending, it cuts out way to much content.
So you can get all the companion perks like this but you'll have to grab X6-88 after synth retention but before the battle of bunker hill because he disappears and do some side shit till you his perk
I also tried something kinda similar but didn't do institutionalized with the minutemen. I did up until tactical thinking with BOS then did the railroad quest for the ballistic weave now Pam won't talk to me to complete it. Is PAM still working for you ?
J. H. Hi so when you say follow the brotherhood quest line does that mean help the recon team and then do the main quest like the reunions mission after, until the prydwen comes, or is there something else with the brotherhood you can do to advance their quest line?
The best ending would have been, been able to take over the institute, avoid destroying it, getting all the factions to work together, rid the commonwealth of death claws, feral ghouls, raiders, and mutants.
The scope of that reality is ask a little too much. If the world could be perfect then don't you think it would be already? I'm just saying that's a lot to do and hoping everyone will work well together isn't very realistic.
Approach her again immidiatly afterwards, and she will thank you for making their job easier. Think she refered to the synth I let go in Bunker Hill. I have a feeling that if you ask her a third time, she will thank you for taking down the Institute...
This is all so fucking complicated. All Bethesda had to do was make it possible through dialogue to make peace with at least 3 of the 4 factions. That's all.
One of the funniest things is that I got this ending without even trying. And there were Railroad missions to rescue synths that were scattered all over the Commonwealth after the Institute were destroyed. And as I never advanced the Railroad quest line very far, Glory was still alive and walking around HQ. And multiple times Carrington and Des would comment "I wish Glory was still with us", literally as she was standing or walking right behind them.
It turns out there’s a few ways you can end it like this. You can work with each faction all the way up until the mass fusion mission. I sided with the Bos for that mission, but make sure you don’t go any further with the Bos after the Blind betrayal.(do not talk to Kells when you receive tactical thinking). My cover was then blown on the institute after mass fusion, forcing the railroad to rely on the minute men to destroy the institute. Then you just finish the game with the minutemen, make sure to use the evacuation protocol on fathers terminal, and there you have this ending.
@@Anth0ny_LT I believe if you follow every faction up until those crucial questing points that I mentioned in my previous comment, this outcome should play out. I think it’s the best way to get the most out of every faction. I don’t recall any other important details to follow in order to get this ending. Sorry for the late response
@@HouseShaw I haven't started anything with either the BOS,or the railroad, but I have taken back the castle. How bad will that screw things up for trying to do the others now?
This ending isn't too hard to get. As long as you finish the Nuclear Option with the Minutemen without becoming enemies with the Brotherhood, you'll remain friendly with all factions (besides the Institute of course). As long as you don't start Mass Fusion for the Institute, Tactical Thinking for the Brotherhood or Rocket's Red Glare for the Railroad then all factions remain friendly. You are free to do any faction quests up to this point without upsetting any other factions.
This looks like a much simplier guide! Do you mean you also enter the institute via the Minutemen? Or it doesn't matter who get you into the institute?
@@GMamba if I remember correctly, it doesn't matter which faction you side with to enter the Institute for the first time (as in starting the quest where you meet Father). If you decide to do other quests later for the faction you didn't choose, they'll just ask for the Institute holotape before you can continue (this is so you're not blocked out of quests like Blind Betrayal) The only part where it matters who you side with is when you destroy the Institute. You have to choose the Minutemen as the Brotherhood and Railroad questlines both force you to become enemies with the other.
@@helizaj2620 yea. This is how I remember doing it pretty much. I played as BoS till the final missions but did the finale with MM. It goes without saying that I also didn’t do any missions that pitted one faction against the other as well. As long as you play the game with the mind set of “I’m BoS but I’m helping the other factions” it works as a general guideline to keep you from getting the factions aggro
Oh thank god want to do a survival playthrough and get this ending and want to get Deliverer and Tinker Toms Special from the RR before swapping to the Mm and pickmans blade just in case i wanna get in close
@@helizaj2620 when we first arrive in the institute, can we agree to help Shaun and worked with the institute without being hostile to any other factions and still get the ending where everyone still alive?
In Fallout 3 you used to be able to pickpocket something into an NPC's inventory, then wait a week in-game and he'd be wearing it if it had higher damage resistance. This way you could get very unique pieces of clothing. I wonder if it still works in F4.
+Derek Pohlman I got it, It was in one of the mods i got. I think it was called Homemaker, once you get it you need to look at your crafting benches you should see armorer workbench and armor smith workbench choose the one that costs more mats to make. Once built, select it for crafting and you should see alot of panties and bras and stuff. Scroll to the bottom and look for something called red battle coat. Enjoy!
There is another "peaceful" ending where you destroy the Institute with BOS and Railroad still lives. 1. Complete all RailRoad quests from Tradecraft to Randolph Safehouse 6". 2. Complete all BOS quests up to Blind Betrayal and make sure you don't activate Mass Fusion yet. 3. Work Blind Betrayal but don't talk to Elder Maxson yet. 4. Complete Institute quests until you activate Mass Fusion (I built teleporter with BOS). 5. Talk to Allie Fillmore and get her to spill the details on Mass Fusion which gives the option to inform the BOS. 6. Inform the BOS (Ingram) who starts Spoils of War. 7. Don't get on the Vertibird yet. 8. Talk to Elder Maxson to complete Blind Betrayal which starts Tactical Thinking (aka kill Railroad quest). 9. DON'T TALK TO KELLS. 10. Get on the Vertibird and complete Spoils of War (starts Burning Cover, starts Banned from Institute, fails Mass Fusion, fails Underground Undercover). 11. Deliver Beryllium Agitator to Ingram which activates Ad Victorium. 12. Complete Burning Cover and any Minuteman quests to activate Defend the Castle. 13. DON'T TALK TO PAM. 14. Complete Ad Victorium (completes Defend the Castle). 15. Complete Nuclear Option (BOS). If you change your mind and still want Minuteman ending, skip Ad Victorium and do Defend the Castle (fails Tactical Thinking, fails Ad Victorium) and Nuclear Option (Minutemen). If you talk to PAM she the Brotherhood turns against you. You can talk to Kells now. This ending works in plain vanilla without any mods and I last did this on xbox one x on Jan 18, 2023.
This actually works! ! ! This was actually one of the more difficult endings to get and I've played through this game multiple times. Thanx for the vid.
I've gotten this ending numerous times, but then I get pissed off at The Brotherhood constantly on me about using The Minutemen so I just shoot Maxson and then destroy the Brotherhood.
So I got this exact ending by total accident. I guess I got lucky, but I don't think I did everything in the order that you did. I just tried to stay on everyone's good side and did their quests as long as possible. I used the minutemen to build the teleported. I started underground undercover with the railroad and got all the way to mass fusion for the institute. I got almost all the way through underground undercover and then I started mass fusion. It gave me the option to choose the brotherhood or the institute for this mission and I chose the brotherhood. This got me banned from the institute and made me fail underground undercover. After finishing the brotherhood mission at mass fusion I Recieved a mission called cover blown where I had to go to desdemona and tell her I failed and she told me to launch an attack with the minutemen on the institute. So I fast traveled to castle and as soon as I got there Ronnie came up to me and said we're under attack and castle defense started.
The weird thing is after telling Maxon that I chose the Minutemen to build the teleporter he gave me a couple new brotherhood missions. I completed them and talked to him again and that was the last I ever spoke to him. Even now after the main story is completed and I got the ending cutscene and everything he just stands there and says "I'm busy we'll talk later". Kind of disappointed he ended up barely being in the story at all for me
+Tyrone Crawford There are a bunch of ways to get this ending in the game, I think yours is pretty good. The problem I have with the Triple S Leagues best ending is you don't get much game time with the Brotherhood and the Institute. And even though I hate the Institute, they have some pretty dope missions. I'm going to do this ending then try yours on a new save. I'll change it a little, but it's nice to know there's more than one way to get the best ending in Fallout 4.
Am i the only one who did the good ending by fault? Like i destroyed the institute with the minutemen but Preston didnt ask me to attack the BOS and now we all live peacefully....
I read that just as Dogmeat began leading me through Diamond City. Luckily, I just left him walking through the city and teleported to one of my settlements, and went off to do the stuff with Brandis.
Dylan Atkinson ya i was able to do it this video is overly complicated the only thing u need to do is do all the brotherhood quests up to when they become enemies with the railroad minutemen etc ( just load back a save) and then all the quests up to where you go undercover into the institute with the minutemen
I really wish there was an ending where you were able to change the minds of the Institute on the shitty things theyre doing, and convince them that 3rd gen synths are more then just property, because i really wanted an option to have peace between the Minutemen, Railroad and Institute. Like it or not, call the Institute evil all you want, but they are clearly the best hope for creating a future, especially with you at the helm. Not to mention if they had The Minutemen and The Railroad on their sides, with a more open-minded and understanding attitude, the Institute would have been the best option.
there was a scrapped option where you could make dance the leader of the brotherhood during blind betrayal, imagine if you could coheres the institute to respect the humanity of synths to befriend the railroad, work with setters and aid the minuteman, and get the data on dance early to trigger that quest to make the brotherhood less radical you could use all 3 of them to rebuild the commonwealth for good.... and the railroad can help integrate the gen 3 synths into the general population i guess there pretty useless despite having the ballistic weave handing them the best armor in the game second only to power armor, a advance network of spies and informants threw out the commonwealth and even in the institute with drummer boy and experts in robotics and biology hence doctor Amarey who gave a synth combat programming so advance he became an unstoppable killing machine, honesty the railroad are practically worthless despite being possible on of the most powerful factions in the game, likely seriously you could be fighting the institute and are probably in the best position having a pretty good shot to which would accomplish all your goals but instead you just play witness protection with some run aways and get completely slaughtered at every opportunity sorry i rant alot
As written the scientists of the institute see no difference between a human & a lab rat. Even adult Shawn had no humanity considering the death of one parent as collateral damage & releasing the other into the wild as an experiment to see if she or he would survive. I guess that was the hidden joke the synths including Valentine are more human than their creators
the first time i played the game I joined the institute because they told me I was going to be the new leader, and well, in my mind i was going to be able to cut their shit short and do things right, help the ppl and make the world better with the tech. But You don't get any of those options. Father keeps telling you to destroy and destroy and he gives you no choice, he wont talk to you if you refuse. it would have been so cool to do as you said.
@@kjsdpgijn Yeah, just let them build there own nation somewhere. Imagine the two races unifying in the future and confusing the Reapers or something lol
Kyle Wealleans Main I’m not sure but if u do molecular level with any other factions other than bos, blind betrayal won’t even trigger because Danse’s affinity would be capped.
Well the brotherhood could of been lying it was after a mission a guy says that but remember the brotherhood are lying nazis they did try to kill you in the first game
ANSWERS/RESPONSES TO SOME OF THE MOST COMMON COMMENTS WE'RE GETTING ABOUT THIS VIDEO [WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW] Hey all. The response to this video has been overwhelming. We wish we could answer each and every question we've gotten about this ending, but it's simply not possible. However, we've noticed many of you answering each other's questions, which is awesome to see. We recommend checking out our discussion video in which we answered some of your questions: ruclips.net/video/WsGqwzFnfxE/видео.html Here are some blanket answers/responses to some of the most common questions/comments we've gotten: QUESTION: "What armor/outfit is she wearing?" ANSWER: It's the BoS officer's uniform. We did a video on it here: ruclips.net/video/fH6HmRrKkyM/видео.html QUESTION: "Can you still save Synth Shaun?" ANSWER: Yes. QUESTION: "Can I still get this ending if I do X/Y/Z?" or "Can I still do X/Y/Z if I get this ending?" ANSWER: Unfortunately, it's impossible for us to answer every possible variant of this question. There are way too many possible paths through the game for us to test them all. If we happen to know the answer, we'll try to reply to your comment, but we're getting so many comments that we're not going to see them all. COMMENT: "This seems too complicated. I got this ending by accident." or "I did X/Y/Z differently and still got this ending." RESPONSE: We're not claiming this is the only way to get this ending, or even the best way. It's a process that works, and it focuses on leaving open the most possibilities after completing the main quest with as little conflict between the main factions as possible. It wouldn't surprise us in the least if there are other ways to achieve this. COMMENT: "How can you say this is the good/best ending when..." or "The Brotherhood is evil!" or "The Institute is good!" or "You bastards killed Shaun!" RESPONSE: As many commenters have pointed out, and as we've said right from the get-go, "best ending" is subjective. Calling this the "best ending" is our opinion, and we've explained why we see it that way. We don't see it as a perfect ending, but rather the best of all available options. An ideal ending, in our opinion, would be to keep all of the factions alive and come to some sort of diplomatic solution. However, that doesn't seem to be an option. Feel free to disagree with us and argue with other commenters about any and all of this. Just try to keep it civil.
+Sheepdog Sherlock Kessler will say you have some seriously powerful friends and give the town over to you whenever you progress far enough with any of the big 3 factions, I'm not too sure about the Minutemen though.
If we finish "Reunions" without finishing the BoS main and side quests and "Tradecraft" , can we continue these steps in completing those BoS main and side quests after "Reunions" and still get this "Good Ending"?
+The Triple S League Hi please could you tell me what you mean by, Before completing "Reunions," complete all main and both side quests (once each) for the Brotherhood of Steel recon team. Talk Brandis down from being crazy. which quests are you referring to.
Should the Main and side quests for the Railroad be done before the end of Reunions as well, I followed the guide and got banished before completing Institutionalized, but upon reaching the Railroad section of the guide they accused me of working with the Institute and to never come back. Is there an error in the guide or was there a weird bug on my end?
I love imagining the railroad giving the brotherhood a new way to think. The minutemen protecting the people of the commonwealth WITH the help of the brotherhood. And a good institute basically Mr. Housing the commonwealth. Making the region the most technologically advanced place in post apocalyptic America.
You can get a synth to replace him. A much younger synth. When I saw that, I'd already decapitated my old cancerous son on his death bed. Then Proctor Ingram told me that this kid says he's my son. "Oh right! Yeah, you found my son guys! Good job... Now let's get the hell out of here." And no one ever knew that the leader of the Institute came from my genitals.
That might be a nice, peaceful ending. But it will not leave the Commonwealth stable. MM will dislike BoS highly, BoS vs. RR. If anything, this will leave the Commonwealth in an unstable, civil war like state.
+Mirage yeah all that tech is great. With Shaun dead you can probs stop making synths (as if a docile synth is that much superior to humans) and research something thats actually productive, like curing cancer LMAO
People complain about the Railroad caring only about synths, but remember in the Railroad ending you're still general of the Minutemen. Minuteman is a huge organization that worries about everybody, while Railroad is small and only able to complete specific objectives. Both will destroy the institute, but you'll be able to save synths with railroad.
+Jack Duripper Exactly this. RR never set out to "save the Commonwealth"; like INS or BoS claim they want. They are the only ones without any secretive agenda. Ironic really, since they are an underground spy organisation. They are straight with you from the start, "All we want is to save Synths. No hidden agenda about ruling the Commonwealth once we eliminate the other factions. Nope, even after we defeat the INS, we are back to helping Synths again". If I am going to rebuild the Commonwealth, I would rather do it with a fresh organisation. One that you revive your own. Remember, when Garvey names you General, you are the only 2 Minuteman around. No extra baggage about hatred of non-human species. No superiority complex or the most advanced tech in the quite possible the entire world. Nope, none of it. Just you and those that have the same ideals as you: "Helping others, at a minutes notice!". No race or species specified, no hospitality. Yes, Minuteman are weaker than BoS and Institute, but of the 3 (BoS, INS and MM) factions interested in directing the Commonwealths future, they are the only pure organisation. Siding with BoS or INS, they make comments about how the Minuteman would be good pawns in furthering your actual agenda, while RR and MM combined simply look to better the peoples lifes without asking anything in return.
It's a decent way to go about it although, I've looked at a lot of guides & suggestions from other players, but the main thing to remember is to not ever progress the Faction Change quests like Tactical Thinking or Rocket's Red Glare. And don't ever speak to Captain Kells or PAM ever again. As for Mass Fusion, go with informing BOS. And the main idea is to go with Minutemen Institute infiltration and the Nuclear Option. Also (almost forgot) Initiating Evacuation Protocol from Father's Terminal during Nuclear Option.
Jorge Silva whose Reyes on my first playthrough I stuck with the minutemen the whole time and only really interacted with the other faction when the story required
Honestly, there's absolutely no point to any of the endings. Your best option is to keep all four factions alive by not fully completing any of them. You already got your revenge on Kellogg, and Shaun is still alive this way. Every ending after this is designed to make you feel nothing but empty afterwards. Almost nothing changes in the end, except a few snippets of useless dialogue. Having a constant friction between the four factions is a good thing. It keeps the game going and it gives you a reason to keep playing/exploring.
+fugy fruit yeah, I'll admit it. As much as I prefer to maintain the peace, the brotherhood are definitely the most fun enemies to fight. Nearly all of them wear power armor so I get a lot of deja vu moments where it feels like I'm fighting the enclave again. Good times
My idea is eliminate the railroad and brotherhood with the institute, less quests on Minutemen to stay out of trouble, anyways you've find you son, already a leader, what's more to ask, like these are probably less evil.
well, if you are siding with the minutemen, you ARE in charge, General, and they are doing better than they ever did before, thanks to your leadership.
Hey everyone. We've been getting a ton of questions about this ending via comments and Reddit. We'll get back to you with answers as soon as we can. Also, we'll be answering some of them on an upcoming podcast. Thanks!
+The Triple S League I see this guy used a different method but is this the same ending and results as the one you guys got? steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/492378806373520310/#p1
+Neminem Thanks for the link! After investigating, we can safely say it's not the same ending as ours. The same three factions survive, but some of them will attack each other (Danse vs. Brotherhood, Brotherhood vs. Railroad) and potentially see the player as an enemy. Ours features an ending where all of the surviving factions are at peace with the player and each other.
+The Triple S League Alright, thanks and one last question. I know it's not in the order you said but if I completed Tradecraft, Boston after Dark, Butcher's Bill and the DIA quests for the Railroad to get the ballistic weave and then completed Reunions and Dangerous Minds would I not be able to get this ending? Just making sure before I start a new character. And as a side-note when you say: "Step 2: Complete "Reunions" and "Dangerous Minds." (For proper completion, keep Preston at the Castle.)" Do I need to have the Castle at that point or can I get it after and how do I "keep" Preston there? Sorry for all the questions and thank you very much for all the work you've put into this guide.
+The Triple S League Why can't I do the show no mercy quest after getting kicked out of the Institute when infiltrating them with the Minutemen? Does it have something to do with the Railroad faction if I do it? If so I don't really care about them. Its the BoS and keeping Paladin Danse in their ranks is all I care about, and this play-through seems to give us the closest until we get a mod to cheat around the Blind Betrayal Mission.
+The Triple S League I can still see one downside to this ending. If I follow your guide, I can't get the Synth Companion (X6-88) the Institute gives you for doing some of their missions. So technically, I still lose a companion.
I've been playing this game forever and never knew this. Well this changes everything now. I must start planning a new approach to my game play and decisions. Thank you so much !!!!!!
sorry you said "We've also uploaded a saved game state for this ending to Nexus Mods:" but i can't see the link for it anywhere and can't find it on nexus, is it still there?
How did you manage to keep danse as part of the brotherhood? I got the holotape from the institute and found that he was a synth. That mission emotionally destroyed me.
@@It_Is_The_Me Yes. That’s a quest given to you once Virgil hands over the teleport machine instructions. He wants you to go pick up his cure in his old lab 🔬 🧪
I got this ending, where everyone is still alive. Now I want to kill the Brotherhood. A lot of their grunts are butt hurt over me siding with the Minutemen, and then there's stuff like 3:40 , where they show their true colours by thinking I used Preston's crew as cannon fodder like that would be a good thing. I was prepared to let this all pass, but then when I swapped companions from Curie to Danse, he thought it was a good idea to insult and threaten her while I was standing right there. You don't insult a man's waifu, Danse. Now, everyone's gotta die. I hope I can still leave him alive, so that when the Brotherhood is naught but dust and ashes, he'll know this was at least partly his doing.
SPOILER Do "True Idenitiy" quest and save Danse instead of killing him, convince him that maxson is wrong, convince maxson to keep danse alive, THEN he wont hate synths :)
Ricky Westley Everyone is still alive but the synth companion for the Institute. Pretty sure I killed him while we blew the place up. Other than that, all the other factions and companions are still alive and active.
You can still get this ending after siding with the Brotherhood to enter the institute. I did all the brotherhood quests up to and including Blind betrayal and Institute quests up to mankind redefined. Then just get yourself banished from the institute (walk in kill some scientists). This unlocks Inside job for the Minute men. You just have to go get the holotape off proctor ingram and give it to Sturges and you can do the minute men ending. This means you can keep peace between BOS, MM and the RR and get Paladin Danse's amazing perk.
+Greg Williams (GWGamer) you can do the railroad quests up to underground undercover. where you have to keep working for the institute. Just don't do the quest mass fusion for the insitute, as it angers the BOS.
oh ok, i just did a few missions for xp, i went back a day so i don't fuck up :P, havent done more, also do i just get the mission blind betrayal and not so it? dont want to get it wrong :D
+Greg Williams (GWGamer) you can complete blind betrayal. just not the quest afterwards. For bunker hill I told the railroad. But the BOS showed up any way (not sure why). Be careful if you inform the railroad you could piss off the insitute if you choose the wrong speech options after the quest.
So basically make nice with the three factions up to certain points. Use the Minute to teleport to the Institute. Pretend like you're really going to join the institute until Father opens the doors to the main area. Promptly kill everyone in the Institute starting with Father with an explosive automatic weapon of your choice. Spray n' pray if you don't get a better automatic explosive weapon. (Really wish I could blow up the place after I have killed everyone there but oh well). Grab the cure for Virgil because I would feel like a dick if I don't get his cure. Finish up most of the other factions quest lines other than the Minutemen. Then finish the Minutemen quest line and finally nuke the entire institute. Last but not least throw the biggest tea party Boston has had since 1773
+John Smith It's a bug, go in without power armor and he's friendly. He only attacks on sight if you're wearing power armor. The dude must really hate Power armor for some reason.
@J. H. commented below, twice, explaining his method of getting the "best" ending but with more content. I'm just putting it all together in one post in the order I believe was intended. Thanks J.H., I'd tag you properly if RUclips still had that feature :) ======================================================= "Best" Ending ======================================================= Step 1: Do all the side quests for the Railroad + BoS that you can (Not including the radiant quests, those are not needed) before going past Reunions (so do the main quest line up until Reunions). Step 2: Do Dangerous minds, when you come outside and the BoS has arrived in the Commonwealth you can advance further with side quests, do the ones for the BoS (again find the list of radiant quests to ignore). NOTE: Do NOT do Tactical Thinking or Precipice of War if they appear, those are quest lines that are about taking out the other. When Tactical Thinking starts P.A.M will not talk to you until you have completed the main story line again. Step 3: Continue on with the main story line and eventually you will be asked to make the thing to get into the Institute, GO WITH STURGES (the Minutemen) and build it with him. To do this you continue with the Brotherhood quest line to Outside the Wire. At some point you will give what's called the Network Snifer Holotape to Proctor Ingram. Just make sure to ask for it back, making her say "that's alright I already made another copy". This not only advances the Brotherhood quest line but also allows you to bring the holotape to Sturges to use to get into the Institute. Step 4: For the Brotherhood you can continue all the way up to Blind Betrayal, talk Maxon out of killing Danse (with good charisma) and then go to the Prydwen after. You will then receive the rank of Paladin, get Danse's armour, and can still use Danse as a companion (in secret because he makes you temporary enemies with the Brotherhood). Just make sure to not go to the next mission with Captain Kells Step 5: For the rail road and the institute advance until Underground Undercover, a rescuing synths mission for the railroad, all the way until it tells you to take out some guards in the institute , don't kill anyone for it will blow your cover in the institute. Instead advance in the quest line with the institute until the battle of bunker hill. After this mission Desdemona will tell you to use the Minutemen to destroy the institute. Step 5.5: NOTE: You can do Underground Undercover until it basically wont let you advance anymore. You then do Institute side quests etc to get rep with X6-88 and when you get to Mass Fusion, DO NOT DO IT. Make sure everything you want is done first, again do NOT touch Precipice of War or Tactical Thinking if you have them. Now for me it was bugged and would not let me warn the BoS of the attack on Mass Fusion, so instead I chose to kill a scientist. Step 6: Now you go with the minutemen, defend the castle (make sure all turning point quests, the previously stated Underground Undercover, Blind Betrayal, and Battle of Bunker Hill are done before starting this) and then start the nuclear option. During this mission make sure you start the evacuation protocol at Shaun's computer because if you don't the rail road will become hostile plus Preston doesn't like it. Roverosable do you have any suggestions for people who have already played past “reunions?” I’m currently at “The molecular level” and I’m wondering if it’s worth going for the best ending.
Stopped playing a couple months ago cause didn't like the faction picking for the end. Didn't know which one to pick. Playing it again, going through the motions and hopefully picking a good ending
I did the same. I went to the point with the factions that I now must make a choice, then I didn't continue it. I wish it was closer to Fallout New Vegas, in that if you had a good speech skill, and/or did enough missions for faction, that you could resolve things peacefully or even have different factions work together. In this game the only option is, "even though you helped them a lot, and would likely have a large and realistic sway on how the group should do things (Institute in particular), they will ignore your opinion on the matter and blow everyone else up."
+Big Boss It kinda sucks because I wanted to do a lone wanderer play through and kill every faction and just wander and wander and wande, or make a type of faction myself. I Killed Maxson because he is wrong! Synths should be treated exactly like humans, if your bad, your bad, if your good your good. And I would base a faction off of that. I would make a new chapter of brotherhood. First I would kill off some of the moronic brotherhood members and take the prywden over, then I would recurit some instutie scientists and blow up the instutie, the scientists would include Madison Li, she would make High Tech weapons and such. And Virgil, he woulx make FEV serums and we would cure everyone. Then I would attempt to help the people of the commonwealth, and I would expand toward the west and ally with the NCR to expand even farther and our factions would combine and we would rule and restore the US to former glory, the goal the Enclave had in mind, but their verison was corrupt and failed! We would also attempt to purify the water again :)
+JBBen123 And the hurtful or sometimes evil in anyway paths are usually easier. I think of it as ways to cement you in your willingness to do the good or peaceful over the bad, no matter how much work that needs to go into it.
especially when they're making shit up. you go back later after talking Brandis down and tell him his friends have arrived (I thought they were fucking dead) and he'll be super happy. what you making shit up or does that mean go back and tell him to join the brotherhood. if that's the case when do I tell him to rejoin without fucking this up?
I blew up the institute and everything around it and pissed off Preston so badly to the point that he is still not talking to me many years later. This dude knows how to hold a grudge.
Easiest way to do this is after you get into the institute take care of any side missions you want like getting Virgil's serum or getting Doctor Li to join the brotherhood but it isn't mandatory. What is mandatory is that you make the institute your enemy by killing any head honcho there. Then give the network scanner to Sturges afterwards the quest "form ranks" will appear and when the minutemen have I think 10 settlements then you'll have to defend the castle from an institute attack. Basically just follow the minutemen questline regarding the institute.
Sentinel Lord - This is a pretty shit guide, honestly. For the Brotherhood you cannot start Tactical Thinking. For the Railroad you can't complete Underground Undercover. It'll fail automatically once you get banished from the Institite. Use the MM to get into the Institute, give Sturges the tape. You need to get banished from the Institute before Mass Fusion or inform the Boston during it. Complete Blind Betrayal after destroying the Institute.
I destroyed the institute using the minutemen (also sided with the railroad) and since I pissed off BoS...I had the minutemen destroy them too. A truly free commonwealth.
If I were to make a faction, it would be a the new chapter of the BoS in the Commonwealth and I would treat synths the same as humans, If you are good and have morals, I let you live and you can possibly join the BoS, if not, you die. I would recurit Virgil to make FEV serums and spray it into the air above the City, then I would recurit Madison Li to make High tech weapons, I would also kill Maxson and take over the prydwen and recurit some more Soldiers.
+Rust The Minutemen are the most "good" faction, but they have a past history of in-faction fighting and collapsed, what's to say they won't screw it all up again? Under your leadership they're better, but how long will it really last thanks to human nature? The Minutemen are also naive and want to destroy tech they don't fully understand, however well intentioned. The Institute despite all their dirty laundry has the technology, resources and vision to give humanity the best future long-term.
+Fatty Munchkins The Fo3 branch is dead. The elder died, and was replaced by maxson and he went back to the standard ways of the brotherhood, which made the outcasts become reintegrated. The brotherhood you see in fallout four is what has become of the fallout three branch.
I love how the comment section is ablaze with people taking sides and describing why the other group will not work and that is the signal of bethesda doing a good work with the story the fact is, neither group would actually end well on itself the minuteman have no "executive" power on the land, and apart from "we are soldier for the wellbeing of everyone around here" have no plan for the future; they are arguably the best possibility of development, but we already saw what would happen without the strong leader the player is for them, as they are too "psychically weak" to grow in their borde (thing that the NCR did on the other coast up to F2 and Tactics) the railroad does not really care for the people; yes, they will save the synts and no one in the rest of the wastes will be wiser, but after the last synt ha been sent to a nice home? they are doomed to disappear once people will forget about them, and they have no intention of changing, with the freed ones being just other peoples in the wasteland the brotherhood was built on an impossible aspiration, keeping people safe by seizing and destorying the tech that created the wasteland; the problem come to be when the changed it to an imperative and expanded. after F2, we always see weack or sidetracked groups (re lyons where helping people first and getting tech later, the outcast where sitting on some of the best tech in the area, but refused to have anyone else taking a peek even if only to solve problems, the mohave group refused to open up and was going to die out in a few decades at best), and in F4 we see at it's lowest: no care for everyone who is not brotherhood, hellbent onto seize technology and almost as self-brainwashed as the enclave was, on top of that, they care not for the people as long as they are not shooting at them or wishing to join. while their work in DC makes them sombody to look to out of the sheer impact they had during F3, they are pretty much invaders in the commonwealth the intitute is pretty much self explanatory: they have their eyes so stuck to their microspoes that they do not see their own failures: they are doing scienze for the oly motivation that they can, as they have no intention of expanding out of the intitute; they are so hellbent on their "the synts are a succes" they do not see that it is either a far greater goal (artificial life) or pretty much a failure (the moment a curser was needed, is the moment you cannot controll tools and have to work on something else, and the whole quest on F3 makes it clear that is not a malfunctioning of an unit or two, but a basic problem with the whole program on all level) and all the other experiment where either useless out in the wastes, or damaging to the point of being abbandoned. on top of that, you would be only one of the mind steering it towhard the future, and the other oes make pretty clear that they are all at the very least wary of you. it would be a "second big mt without the courrier"
Actually, with the MM there, then the settlements could attempt to recreate the CPG, which the Institute assassinated. I could never side with the institute because of the CPG massacre, and they were probably aiming for a war between Goodneighbor and Diamond City. The BoS are a faction not native to the commonwealth, and so really are nothing more than technologically advanced raiders since they are only there for the tech and to destroy the institute, which is the only faction at the time advanced enough to challenge them. And for the MM being weak, they only fell apart because they lost the Castle, which was their primary source of communication. They could not coordinate and had no headquarters which is why they shattered
so, with the addition of the Wasteland Workshop DLC, I have a question. It has been discovered that if you Evacuate the Institute during or around the "Nuclear Option" quest by going to fathers terminal and hacking into it. you can then get the option to trap Synth Gorillas for your settelments. my question is. I know you say to get this ending you have to get kicked out of the Institute. could you instead just leave the Institute as soon as your able? not progressing on any of their quests. thereby still having the ability to re-enter the Institute during the "Nuclear Option" quest and evacuate them?
Think that's bad? (Spoiler alert) I just finished killing the courser, but I still started over thank God for saves, I feel like Markiplier in "until dawn"! Lol
I did this ending 2 years ago. I really like the way it expands the post game possibilities. I actually did all the Institite Quests up to Bunker Hill Synth Quest, where I killed the Curser with me as soon as I entered the underground Bunker. I also got Danse expelled from the BOS and talked Maxson out of having him executed. He's now lounging around Sanctuary as my romance option. 😊
My favorite part in the game was killing Knight Bitchass at the police station. Great value learning of what happens when you talk shit to the wrong savage.
I'm sorry I couldn't hear your solution for peace over the sound of the Prydwen crashing into the Boston Airport and all the minigun fire at Railroad HQ.
I did Show No Mercy. I started out with the Minutemen, then joined BoS and the Railroad. So far I've not run into any conflicts between these factions yet. The BoS seem to only be aggressive against my own enemies, like raiders, mutants and synths.. they don't attack settlers as far as I've seen. I'm about to build the teleporter and after seeing this video I'll go ahead and do that with the Minutemen. I'm planning on taking out the Institute in the most humane way, by making sure they evacuate before I blow them up. I hope this will result in the ending I was looking for, which is the ending as described in this video. I hope that having done Show No Mercy won't mess things up too much. I've seen other reports of people getting an ending like this without exactly following the video. I think the important part is paying attention to the things you do and how they affect other factions as well. So far it seems everyone wants the institute dead, and the Railroad might be kept friendly if the synths are spared by evacuating them beforehand. Worst case scenario the railroad turns against me, but it's the least valued option. I agree with the ethics of the BoS in that the institute has only created abominations, and that includes the synths, However much they are like real humans, they are still made by humans and therefor flawed. ;)
+Vasko H-Elenov In the minutemen ending its the "best possible ending if your touting that since the minutemen are the only ones who allow the unarmed scientists to escape and ask you to issue the evacuation order. Both the brotherhood and the railroad just gun these people down and massacre them. Especially the brotherhood... holy shit.
GeorgeMonet Ohh .. and the brotherhood and the railroad arent murdering people i guess .. in a wasteland where people kill to survive .. murder becomes a small thing to people but still .. i didnt say they were good .. i said there is no good ending as long as it involves killing some1..
So here's an update...A person can actually persue every quest with the brotherhood up until Max says "be our eyes and ears", next I worked on the railroad, so get the courser chip to tinker tom and feel free to persue their questline as well meaning go ahead and finish tradecraft and start working on the safehouses and Decon's affinity, I only persued Rand Safehouse 2, next work on the minutemen up to finishing "Old Guns", now depending on how much of Preston a person can tolerate, sometimes what i do is finish a quest, make sure to check in with the settlement and when it says talk to Preston I crouch down and snipe whoever geve me the dang quest thus shutting him up for good until later, so use Sturges to get in (don't forget the "network scanner" holotape), I saw in you're post you advised stopping before/right after "Institutionalized" however I thought, well in order to get "ALL" Companions what about X6-88? So I saved my game and started doing quests from "Father" alone and after each completion would try to recruit X6-88, you will get the "Battle for Bunker Hill" quest which after failing, finally found the way, do the quest, meet the courser but NONE of the NPC's will be aggressive to you, DON"T FIRE a single shot let all the enemies fight each other, simply go down the cellar say the recall codes then get to Father on top of CIT (BOOM! no faction loss)...finish all up to receiving "Mass Fusion", right after getting this quest I found X6-88 in Synth-Retention and recruited him as my companion, did a few side quests to rack up his affinity and once maxed...I sent his booty to Sanctuary, next I fast traveled to the institute and put a bullet in Fathers head thus getting banned, from this point on finish with the Minutemen until KABOOM...Max on the Prydwyn will just say "He's busy" constantly, NOBODY in the brotherhood found out about DANSE because they didn't get the network scanner so he's a companion however the ONE downside is you'll never promote past KNIGHT and X6 doesn't actually become a companion you can recruit anymore HOWEVER he IS NOW a settler, you can assign him as you see fit, even a provisioner and because the game see's him as any other companion...he can never die ha-ha I tried! Later on you can safely go back to bunker hill later, do all the quests and it WILL be available as a settlement. And yes I made sure I could still recruit EVERY OTHER comanion including Decon, so there it is...EVERY COMPANION (almost) and EVERY SETTLEMENT including the airport
Nothing happens to dog meat he isn't in a faction so he doesn't turn on you just send him to red rocket then when you completed the game just go back to him m
+The Triple S League hey there, thanks for the video, but does it matter if you accidentally did the reunion Qwest from step 1 all the way to the brotherhood of steel predwen ship arrives after killing Kellogg, but not finishing the quest and support brotherhood reconnaissance team. would that work? do you guys know.
Personally, I consider a minutemen - focused ending to be the best. Simply becuase, with the minutemen fully rebuilt, each settlement well supplied, fortified and armed to the teeth with turrets, artillery and defenses, and the institute gone, no other faction will have the power to stand against a re-attempt of the CPG. Of course, Im not going to intentionally piss off the Brotherhood, in fact Ill try to remain at least neutral to them. And Im fairly certain the railroad doesnt really care about anything the minutemen do, as they arent in the way of the railroad's cause. However, one must understand that the best way forward may just be to look at how the nation was founded the first time round.
Wanna say this was a great walkthrough went through it step by step and worked. Have to say there were a few differences when I did it like I was able to achieve the ending without fully running the railroad before I did the grand finale lol all in all well done guys
Thank god for that I was going to ask the same thing.... I've just infiltrated the institute with the minute men.... think I'm doing it right as no other mission has failed :)
***** Nope. The minutemen ally themselves with the Railroad after "Defend the Castle". After that, "The Nuclear Option" starts with the minutemen. After U complete it, Preston will either say "Okay we cool now" or "I think we also gotta fuck up the brotherhood" if you are at war with them. The game officially ends the moment the institute gets nuked. But both the minutemen and the Railroad have no intention of harming the brotherhood in any way, exept if the sole survivor pissed off Maxson somehow. tl;dr The best ending is the minutemen's, as long as u don't fuck with the brotherhood. The railroad and the minutemen start an alliance and the Brotherhood eventually leaves the commonwealth because their mission of destroying the institute has already been done for them
+Nielspiels That is what they are saying in an official guide. Also You can do that and not have danse as a companion and also lose out on all brotherhood quests.
+Nielspiels Ehh, that's not true. The Brotherhood has a knack for lingering when they aren't wanted or needed. The amount of technology the Commonwealth has would make them try to seize the Commonwealth nonetheless.
Trikiran Not really. Just do every single brotherhood quest until the Danse mission. Right after that you have to report to Kells to get the mission to destroy the railroad. HOWEVER! If u complete defend the castle against the institute BEFORE you destroy the railroad, the railroad-kill quest automatically ends without consequense. Because of that, Danse is kept as companion
Calvin Busch Doesn't matter, Maxson came to the commonwealth to destroy the institute, feral ghouls and super mutants. You even hear from the brotherhood themselves that they admire the minutemen and don't care about the railroad until Kells gets agitated. With the institute gone, people can sleep at night, that's what all factions want
I chose the Institute and don't regret it. I really hated the mission where you had to kill the railroad though. There wasn't really anyone in the Brotherhood that I liked.
+Cameron Irvine Kinda like me, I have previously chosen the institute but I was furious when I couldn't choose not to kill the railroad (they didn't harm me, not even when they discovered I was with the institute so I had no reason to attack them). Then I decided to kill Shaun for forcing me to kill for him (not option not even in the dialogue), he only wanted everybody dead but the institute (besides I didn't know how to continue the main quest without obeying him). He was the greater evil for me. BTW, kinda dissapointed that all the endings are the same :/, at least of the main quest. About the brotherhood, I never joined them so shooting them was never a problem if they attack first.
+Jack “DR Wubs” campbell Elder Maxson is a dick to everyone, a puppet of the West BoS and he is doing his best to act like an jerkazi (jerk and nazi). He had to be... dealt with
***** Yep, at that point I thought there would be a choice. Refuse to kill Danse and Maxson would turn hostile forcing you to kill him and become enemies with the Brotherhood. Shame I couldn't kill him later because I wanted that coat of his!
It's awesome that you can have the railroad side with the brotherhood, but I wish there was some way you could save the synths and still blow up the institute with liberty prime and the brotherhood and get promoted to sentinel. Kinda sucks that you have to choose one or the other
There's a glitch that you can't complete the quest 'The Lost Patrol' until you complete the quest 'No Mercy', Lancer Captain Kells won't talk besides general dialogue.
I got basically the same ending, the only difference is that I found out Danse is a synth before I destroyed the Institute, so he wasn't on the Prydwin at the end.
When I first played the game I got this ending by pure chance which made me believe that it was common to get to the point that when I couldn't get it recently I had to go back to a previous save file because I want to save the main 3 factions sans The Institute
Me too and... Game came out in 2015 so i wad only 13 years old 😂 very new to video games. I was so immature, i didnt even understand how bigoted the brotherhood really was to put it into perspective. Idk how i got it either 😭😭
+UpsetJuice That's fine. The only point is to do the main quest with the Minutemen as opposed to BoS or RR. And don't do Institute stuff or give data to BoS or RR.
Not sure if you realized this when you did it but this might be the canonical ending for fallout 4. Because the predwin is shown in the fallout tv show and that take place 9 years after fallout 4, so that means one of the ending with the brotherhood still going is Canon and the only reason I see them moving their giant flying fortress across the country is because the minutemen and railroad are still active on the east coast they aren't the main force over there after you side with the minutemen so they move to regroup with there forces in California witch means Maxson should be in season 2 of the fallout show.
This is an awesome way to finish the game. But there's another settlement that needs our help. Here I'll mark it on your map
LOL!!!
Get rid of the railroad and bos then leave the minutemen and destroy the institute then go to nuka world best option
I want to in the minute men you do work well I chill at sanctuary
If you're trying to get Strong's perk Preston can't hand out enough of them sadly.
Hey, at least is not raining.
In my personal opinion, any ending is a good ending as long as dog meat still loves me
Dogs are the best!
Nani Banani yep

Nani Banani Dogmeat is fam

I got this ending, but you can go a lot farther with each faction, you just have to do everything in a certain order because everything has a turning point. I'll give you guys a detailed summary on what exactly to do so SPOILERS but you have to know everything to do it properly
For starters you need to do institutionalized with the minute men.
Just make sure to not go to the next mission with Captain Kells
For the rail road and the institute advance until Underground Undercover, a rescuing synths mission for the railroad, all the way until it tells you to take out some guards in the institute , don't kill anyone for it will blow your cover in the institute.
J. H. Do I have to do brotherhood of steel first before the railroad and the institute?
So you can get all the companion perks like this but you'll have to grab X6-88 after synth retention but before the battle of bunker hill because he disappears and do some side shit till you his perk
I also tried something kinda similar but didn't do institutionalized with the minutemen. I did up until tactical thinking with BOS then did the railroad quest for the ballistic weave now Pam won't talk to me to complete it. Is PAM still working for you ?
I thnik Tactical Thinking shuts off her dialogue. Hoping that quest gets failed by using J.H.'s method
Racist good ending lol
@@VierZZZspapuXd How is it racist?
@@akula9713 the targeting of ghouls
@@yourstruly3746 Feral ghouls.
The scope of that reality is ask a little too much. If the world could be perfect then don't you think it would be already? I'm just saying that's a lot to do and hoping everyone will work well together isn't very realistic.
I went back to the railroad after blowing up the institute and desdemona was like
*_SO YOUR WORKING WITH THE INSTITUTE NOW?!_*
I bring paladin danse with me and he was loved when i blow up the institute pffff idk why i’m still playing this game till now.
Right 😭
Approach her again immidiatly afterwards, and she will thank you for making their job easier. Think she refered to the synth I let go in Bunker Hill. I have a feeling that if you ask her a third time, she will thank you for taking down the Institute...
She says that if you got to the institute before doing any of their missions.
"Just leave." it doesnt work
Sure you can loose your son, friends, power, title, and a faction, but what people overlook is dogmeat, he's always been there
Dogmeat never changes
And always will be . mans bestfreind not dogs but "dogmeat"
My favorite companion. Why? Is it because he's a dog? Not really. He shuts the f*ck up.

@@spoonman9584 when I played he never shut up!!! He kept on glitching and barking.
Big Bruh 2 years late but dogmeat is a synth. The only good synth is a dead one
Ad Victoriam!
This is all so fucking complicated. All Bethesda had to do was make it possible through dialogue to make peace with at least 3 of the 4 factions. That's all.
Right. My second maxed out stat was charisma for that reason. FFS.
I got this ending first try and thought it was the normal minutemen ending till I found out it was "secret"
+NarcassisticGamer me too
wasn't that one of the complaints for skyrims civil war ending?
Yeah, pretty much. You could only achieve a temporary peace with them, then after you defeated Alduin they'd be right back to fighting again.
Lmao, sounds like when you talk to someone and they say to a friend "did you hear something?" 🤣
@@neowolf09 lol like they did something mean earlier that day and everyone is pretending like they don’t exist😂🤣
She's meant to die but they never let the railroad get attacked in the minutemen ending.
"QUIT TELLING EVERYONE I'M DEAD!" 😭😭😭
It turns out there’s a few ways you can end it like this. You can work with each faction all the way up until the mass fusion mission. I sided with the Bos for that mission, but make sure you don’t go any further with the Bos after the Blind betrayal.(do not talk to Kells when you receive tactical thinking). My cover was then blown on the institute after mass fusion, forcing the railroad to rely on the minute men to destroy the institute. Then you just finish the game with the minutemen, make sure to use the evacuation protocol on fathers terminal, and there you have this ending.
Literally just screenshoted your comments thats so much more simple but is there anything else you should know for this path?
@@Anth0ny_LT I believe if you follow every faction up until those crucial questing points that I mentioned in my previous comment, this outcome should play out. I think it’s the best way to get the most out of every faction. I don’t recall any other important details to follow in order to get this ending. Sorry for the late response
Yep this is a way easier way to do it without skipping any quests
@@HouseShaw I haven't started anything with either the BOS,or the railroad, but I have taken back the castle. How bad will that screw things up for trying to do the others now?
@@dochlldy the castle can be taken , as long as you don't start any mission involving destroying a faction that isn't the institute
If you decide to do other quests later for the faction you didn't choose, they'll just ask for the Institute holotape before you can continue (this is so you're not blocked out of quests like Blind Betrayal)
The only part where it matters who you side with is when you destroy the Institute.
My issue is, I want Maxson's coat.
I like the brotherhood (currently), but REALLY want that coat...
+Derek Pohlman
I actually only destroyed BoS because of Maxon's coat and laser machine gun. Don't regret a damn thing.
I just want to kill Scribe Haylen or another field scribe for their hat. Am I willing to go to war over a hat? Yes.
JayDay60
You're my kind of man/woman.

I've gotten this ending numerous times, but then I get pissed off at The Brotherhood constantly on me about using The Minutemen so I just shoot Maxson and then destroy the Brotherhood.
Damm ok
The first time I played fallout 4 I got this ending on accident
What?
@@tobyison3887 I think he just got sidetracked a lot and inadvertently didn't complete missions
Me too lol I just didn't want to choose until I has to
Christian Escritt
I already fucked it up
Ugh "on accident"
wish their was an option to save them all, and clear up all the misunderstandings between all the factions.
That can never happen with the Institute's mentality towards the Commonwealth.
I got this ending and used the brotherhood to build the teleported o.O

Can u do this if you’ve done reunions
Not to mention if they had The Minutemen and The Railroad on their sides, with a more open-minded and understanding attitude, the Institute would have been the best option.
there was a scrapped option where you could make dance the leader of the brotherhood during blind betrayal, imagine if you could coheres the institute to respect the humanity of synths to befriend the railroad, work with setters and aid the minuteman, and get the data on dance early to trigger that quest to make the brotherhood less radical you could use all 3 of them to rebuild the commonwealth for good.... and the railroad can help integrate the gen 3 synths into the general population i guess there pretty useless despite having the ballistic weave handing them the best armor in the game second only to power armor, a advance network of spies and informants threw out the commonwealth and even in the institute with drummer boy and experts in robotics and biology hence doctor Amarey who gave a synth combat programming so advance he became an unstoppable killing machine, honesty the railroad are practically worthless despite being possible on of the most powerful factions in the game, likely seriously you could be fighting the institute and are probably in the best position having a pretty good shot to which would accomplish all your goals but instead you just play witness protection with some run aways and get completely slaughtered at every opportunity
sorry i rant alot

ANSWERS/RESPONSES TO SOME OF THE MOST COMMON COMMENTS WE'RE GETTING ABOUT THIS VIDEO
[WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW]
Hey all. The response to this video has been overwhelming. We wish we could answer each and every question we've gotten about this ending, but it's simply not possible. However, we've noticed many of you answering each other's questions, which is awesome to see.
We recommend checking out our discussion video in which we answered some of your questions: ruclips.net/video/WsGqwzFnfxE/видео.html
Here are some blanket answers/responses to some of the most common questions/comments we've gotten:
QUESTION: "What armor/outfit is she wearing?"
ANSWER: It's the BoS officer's uniform. We did a video on it here: ruclips.net/video/fH6HmRrKkyM/видео.html
QUESTION: "Can you still save Synth Shaun?"
ANSWER: Yes.
QUESTION: "Can I still get this ending if I do X/Y/Z?" or "Can I still do X/Y/Z if I get this ending?"
ANSWER: Unfortunately, it's impossible for us to answer every possible variant of this question. There are way too many possible paths through the game for us to test them all. If we happen to know the answer, we'll try to reply to your comment, but we're getting so many comments that we're not going to see them all.
COMMENT: "This seems too complicated. I got this ending by accident." or "I did X/Y/Z differently and still got this ending."
RESPONSE: We're not claiming this is the only way to get this ending, or even the best way. It's a process that works, and it focuses on leaving open the most possibilities after completing the main quest with as little conflict between the main factions as possible. It wouldn't surprise us in the least if there are other ways to achieve this.
COMMENT: "How can you say this is the good/best ending when..." or "The Brotherhood is evil!" or "The Institute is good!" or "You bastards killed Shaun!"
RESPONSE: As many commenters have pointed out, and as we've said right from the get-go, "best ending" is subjective.
That might be a nice, peaceful ending. But it will not leave the Commonwealth stable. MM will dislike BoS highly, BoS vs. RR. If anything, this will leave the Commonwealth in an unstable, civil war like state.

Fallout 5? XD
+Jack Duripper YOU'RE GENERAL OF THE MINUTEMAN IN ALL ENDINGS! SDIFHSIDHFSDHOSHUH9234Y37924Y237234
Natural Potato Except with brotherhood and Institute the minutemen are just puppets of a greater power, while the Railroad just coexists.
Jack Duripper I guess it is true that the brotherhood and institute could interfere with the minutemen while the railroad doesn't.
I don't like synths there unatural and why do we need them if we are still trying not to die from radiation
This has to be the cannon ending.

It keeps the game going and it gives you a reason to keep playing/exploring.
plus its awesome destroying the brotherhood
+fugy fruit yeah, I'll admit it. As much as I prefer to maintain the peace, the brotherhood are definitely the most fun enemies to fight. Nearly all of them wear power armor so I get a lot of deja vu moments where it feels like I'm fighting the enclave again. Good times
My idea is eliminate the railroad and brotherhood with the institute, less quests on Minutemen to stay out of trouble, anyways you've find you son, already a leader, what's more to ask, like these are probably less evil.
You nailed it perfectly there. It would simplify everything.
well, if you are siding with the minutemen, you ARE in charge, General, and they are doing better than they ever did before, thanks to your leadership.
So. basically, this is a really complicated and convoluted set of step...
And you have to go the entire game without Ballistic Weave...
What is ballistic weave
+DJ Mizzy seriously?
Its a thing the railroad gives you after completing pams quest, gives cloth (not armor) damage resistance and energy resistance.
it's an upgrade that turns ordinary clothing into military-grade armour
basically you can now stroll the wastes of Boston in an armoured bathrobe :D
ballistic weave is only the best armor mod in the game you can upgrade some normal clothing depending on your armorer rank to be really kick ass
Hey everyone. We've been getting a ton of questions about this ending via comments and Reddit. We'll get back to you with answers as soon as we can. Also, we'll be answering some of them on an upcoming podcast. Thanks!

+Nathan Cannam i have done some of the side quests for the RR would that still affect it?
+Greg Williams (GWGamer) you can do the railroad quests up to underground undercover. where you have to keep working for the institute. Just don't do the quest mass fusion for the insitute, as it angers the BOS.
oh ok, i just did a few missions for xp, i went back a day so i don't fuck up :P, havent done more, also do i just get the mission blind betrayal and not so it? dont want to get it wrong :D
+Nathan Cannam I may be asking alot but what who did you tell on battle of bunker hill?
+Greg Williams (GWGamer) you can complete blind betrayal. just not the quest afterwards. For bunker hill I told the railroad. But the BOS showed up any way (not sure why). Be careful if you inform the railroad you could piss off the insitute if you choose the wrong speech options after the quest.
I want this ending because my character is supposed to be a passive and nice person.

@J. H. commented below, twice, explaining his method of getting the "best" ending but with more content. I'm just putting it all together in one post in the order I believe was intended. Thanks J.H., I'd tag you properly if RUclips still had that feature :)
=======================================================
"Best" Ending
=======================================================
Step 1: Do all the side quests for the Railroad + BoS that you can (Not including the radiant quests, those are not needed) before going past Reunions (so do the main quest line up until Reunions).
Just make sure to not go to the next mission with Captain Kells
Step 5: For the rail road and the institute advance until Underground Undercover, a rescuing synths mission for the railroad, all the way until it tells you to take out some guards in the institute , don't kill anyone for it will blow your cover in the institute. Instead advance in the quest line with the institute until the battle of bunker hill.

Roverosable I didn’t do the railroad side quest because I saw this after I did reunions
Does this actually work?
Roverosable do you have any suggestions for people who have already played past “reunions?” I’m currently at “The molecular level” and I’m wondering if it’s worth going for the best ending.
Joseph Jaime no huge fucking waste of my time. Never playing this game again
So, for those who advanced until The Glowing Sea automatically failed this method then?
180 hours into fallout 4 and I still haven't finished the campaign because i hate the endings including this one, though it is the best.
Stopped playing a couple months ago cause didn't like the faction picking for the end. Didn't know which one to pick. Playing it again, going through the motions and hopefully picking a good ending
+Michael Codina IKR that's exactly why I stop playing but then I heard about mods out on console so I'm giving it a second try ^_^
Noiro10 yep same, couldn't of put it better myself
XD I finishes in 1 day
Shit... I killed everybody besides the Institute...
Not possible, Cant kill the minutemen
+Isaiah “Dovahbear” Robert I dont think you can ever rebel against them.
+Big Boss Its the right thing to do.Institute is the best for commowealth
+Isaiah “Dovahbear” Robert if you will take their scientists then dont blow it up... it has hi tech equipment.. its the best science lab ever.
Did they have to make it this fucking complicated?
+The Core No
Peace is a painful path
+JBBen123 And the hurtful or sometimes evil in anyway paths are usually easier. I think of it as ways to cement you in your willingness to do the good or peaceful over the bad, no matter how much work that needs to go into it.
+Marco Castellanos I love how you act like youve fought such a cold war in a fucking video game.
Quite pathetic my friend, quite pathetic
especially when they're making shit up. you go back later after talking Brandis down and tell him his friends have arrived (I thought they were fucking dead) and he'll be super happy. what you making shit up or does that mean go back and tell him to join the brotherhood. if that's the case when do I tell him to rejoin without fucking this up?
Basically just follow the minutemen questline regarding the institute.
so if i keep doing minutemen quests will i be able to keep all factions and kill the institude? im kinda confused
I accidently go this ending when the Institutionalized mission bugged and I raged by killing the Institute lol
+John Loco Ha ha...awesome!
You're saying the Fo3 BoS? They lost communication with the rest of BoS and made their own branch and were more peaceful
The elder died, and was replaced by maxson and he went back to the standard ways of
the brotherhood, which made the outcasts become reintegrated. The brotherhood you see in fallout four is what has become of the fallout three branch.
Awesome the commonwealth is gonna be at peace for a long time. Speaking of peace, this settlement needs your help, here I'll mark it on your map
I love how the comment section is ablaze with people taking sides and describing why the other group will not work
and that is the signal of bethesda doing a good work with the story
the fact is, neither group would actually end well on itself
the minuteman have no "executive" power on the land, and apart from "we are soldier for the wellbeing of everyone around here" have no plan for the future; they are arguably the best possibility of development, but we already saw what would happen without the strong leader the player is for them, as they are too "psychically weak" to grow in their borde (thing that the NCR did on the other coast up to F2 and Tactics)
the railroad does not really care for the people; yes, they will save the synts and no one in the rest of the wastes will be wiser, but after the last synt ha been sent to a nice home? they are doomed to disappear once people will forget about them, and they have no intention of changing, with the freed ones being just other peoples in the wasteland
the brotherhood was built on an impossible aspiration, keeping people safe by seizing and destorying the tech that created the wasteland; the problem come to be when the changed it to an imperative and expanded. after F2, we always see weack or sidetracked groups (re lyons where helping people first and getting tech later, the outcast where sitting on some of the best tech in the area, but refused to have anyone else taking a peek even if only to solve problems, the mohave group refused to open up and was going to die out in a few decades at best), and in F4 we see at it's lowest: no care for everyone who is not brotherhood, hellbent onto seize technology and almost as self-brainwashed as the enclave was, on top of that, they care not for the people as long as they are not shooting at them or wishing to join. while their work in DC makes them sombody to look to out of the sheer impact they had during F3, they are pretty much invaders in the commonwealth
the intitute is pretty much self explanatory: they have their eyes so stuck to their microspoes that they do not see their own failures: they are doing scienze for the oly motivation that they can, as they have no intention of expanding out of the intitute; they are so hellbent on their "the synts are a succes" they do not see that it is either a far greater goal (artificial life) or pretty much a failure (the moment a curser was needed, is the moment you cannot controll tools and have to work on something else, and the whole quest on F3 makes it clear that is not a malfunctioning of an unit or two, but a basic problem with the whole program on all level) and all the other experiment where either useless out in the wastes, or damaging to the point of being abbandoned. on top of that, you would be only one of the mind steering it towhard the future, and the other oes make pretty clear that they are all at the very least wary of you. it would be a "second big mt without the courrier"
+serPomiz i understand what your trying to say but..
that spelling and grammar good god.
crazybongo5 it's kind of 4am around here.... not a good excuse but still...
+M Moriyama Just like Caesar's Legion was dependent on Caesar. Funny coincidence truth be told.
+M Moriyama No, Preston would be there to remind you that another settlement needs your help.
+Twi-Man We haven't tested it that way. But we are planning to do another play through and see if we can do it a few more ways. Stay tuned!
+Twi-Man You always have the ability to evacuate the institute no matter who you side with during nuclear option.
+Twi-Man during the Nuclear Option you WILL reenter the Institute (through tunnels not through teleporting in)
well just finished show no mercy then watched this.... well no happy ending for me
Synthy Dynamic I did tradecraft early on wich sucks
Think that's bad? (Spoiler alert) I just finished killing the courser, but I still started over thank God for saves, I feel like Markiplier in "until dawn"!
Lol
Dillon Crowe I did tradecraft as soon as I left the vault almost but I still got the good ending
Did u know u can load back
I did this ending 2 years ago.
Seriously.
I seriously don't have any idea which is the recon team quests. Can somebody please help me
the mission with the brotherhood where you have to find a missing recon team
anime gaming Thats it? Thanks
Thank you
Mr.Boomstick np
I was just about to ask the same thing! I felt silly for not knowing what they meant haha
Welp I already did stuff I wasn't supposed to so screw AD VICTORIAM
I agree with the ethics of the BoS in that the institute has only created abominations, and that includes the synths, However much they are like real humans, they are still made by humans and therefor flawed. ;)
breaks my heart, my own son kept shooting at me, i didnt know any other way to stop him from doing that
How is it "good ending" nuking a building with unarmed scientists? Theres no good ending in fallout 4 ...
+Vasko H-Elenov
In the minutemen ending its the "best possible ending if your touting that since the minutemen are the only ones who allow the unarmed scientists to escape and ask you to issue the evacuation order. Both the brotherhood and the railroad just gun these people down and massacre them. Especially the brotherhood... holy shit.
you can actually alert them
+Vasko H-Elenov The Institute scientists are guilty of serious crimes including murder.
GeorgeMonet Ohh .. and the brotherhood and the railroad arent murdering people i guess .. in a wasteland where people kill to survive .. murder becomes a small thing to people but still .. i didnt say they were good .. i said there is no good ending as long as it involves killing some1..
+Vasko H-Elenov the railroad only attack institute synths and raiders, so no, they are not.
When you say "talk Brandis down", do you mean convincing him to return to the BoS at the end of The Lost Patrol?
To late, the railroad got demolished.
I have to start all over again!!!!
Me too. And I'm on a "Survival Plus"-like run, similar to MajorSlack's...
R.I.P.
Same but since i finished the game im using console commands
Im sorry i just dont wunna start again
Yep, past the point of no return
Nearly 3 days in the game man, I done with this shit.
Desdemona doesn't trust me anymore after I did one quest. i didn't even talk to Father to finish it
The instructions are shit. I has the same problem
Okay, Okay but does something happen to dogmeat?!? Cause if something does that game is going bye-bye in mi casa.
Ashley Ortizu i did this ending and have all companions except X6 the courser
Alexander McCabe you can have still have X6 if you don't use the bos ending
Brianthegreat damn i figured he'd be gone i blew up the institute with the minutemen and i haven't seen him anywhere do you know where to find him
Nothing happens to dog meat he isn't in a faction so he doesn't turn on you just send him to red rocket then when you completed the game just go back to him m
Ashley Ortiz i killed dogmeat the little fucker gets in the bloody way
well, the quest IS named show no mercy, so...
Is cleansing the Commonwealth and QuarterMastery a main or Side quest!
?*
+Dengaroo They're repeating side quests; you only need to do them once (more if you want).
+Hollywood Undead I would like to know also or I'd have to jump back 13 saves :(
+Up in smoke J3T That's what i want to know too , i have more than 12 h of gameplay sense reunion ......
However, one must understand that the best way forward may just be to look at how the nation was founded the first time round.
how do you beat the recon team missions? Aren't they continually replenishing?
+Fenris The Wolf Just do them once each.
The Triple S League Will it still work if I did them more than once?
Oh sure! It's all about building a certain level of affinity with the Brotherhood.
The Triple S League Awesome! Thanks guys, your the best :)
Glad to help!
i got this ending first try on accident
Wanna say this was a great walkthrough went through it step by step and worked. Have to say there were a few differences when I did it like I was able to achieve the ending without fully running the railroad before I did the grand finale lol all in all well done guys
Thanks! And yes, this isn't the only way to accomplish the ending. But we do know it's a way that works.
Thanks for posting this video. I've already done Reunion by the time I watched this video, so I've decided to replay from the start.
When I completed defend the castle it said I failed show no mercy? Is that bad.
+Jack Edson Don't worry, that's supposed to happen.
Thank God
Thank god for that I was going to ask the same thing.... I've just infiltrated the institute with the minute men.... think I'm doing it right as no other mission has failed :)
But your Neegan you showed no mercy to glenn ;(
Enrique Jimenez Sorry, Rick killed my men.
Lol these steps. There is another way, just never piss off the brotherhood and take the minutemen ending, not so hard
***** I think everyone can agree on that!
+Jack “DR Wubs” campbell Elder Maxson is a dick to everyone, a puppet of the West BoS and he is doing his best to act like an jerkazi (jerk and nazi). He had to be... dealt with
+Jack “DR Wubs” campbell Well Danse goes against everything the BoS stands for because, well he's a synth
I got basically the same ending, the only difference is that I found out Danse is a synth before I destroyed the Institute, so he wasn't on the Prydwin at the end.
same
so you were able to keep his perk
Semoske Games it's been a while but I do believe so
I lost Danse at the battle of prydwin he was one my favorite companion.
Proctor Quinlan saying using the minutemen as cannon fodder sounds so sociopathic
I'm pretty sure this is the first ending I've ever gotten when playing this game, and I totally got it by accident as well
Does it still work if in Reunions you kill Kellogg because I didn't realize it was Reunions. I haven't finished it so does it still count?
+UpsetJuice I killed the crap out of Kellogg, and I have 3 faction alive.
You have to kill Kellogg
+Dylan Mujakovic Bates ok thanks
+UpsetJuice That's fine. The only point is to do the main quest with the Minutemen as opposed to BoS or RR. And don't do Institute stuff or give data to BoS or RR.
Teddy Parker Good to know.
I've already done defend the castle btw I dont use virtabirds I just jump off the edge of the prydwen in power armor
Good theory brodai
