Wow, incredible! What a wealth of extremely complex Horn and North African history and ancient knowledge from Adey Getachew Ethioflower, just followed her on IG
I'm a French born, Rwandan Tutsi, and we share so much of our ancient genetic and cultural ancestry of the Savannah Neolithic Pastoral Cushitic culture with the Afar, Somalis, Oromos, Tigray, Gurage, Amharas, as well as the Beja, Saho, and Nubians of Egypt. This definitely provide insight into the past of our larger umbrella of people. Weyni, you are such a refreshing intellectual, very strong and purpose-driven woman. I also have to add that you have incredibly captivating, deep, and emotional eyes. So much fire in them. Keep on this amazing work. Glory be to God!

Thank you for sharing. This dialogue is much needed. A little food for thought: Ta-Netjer, the Land of the Gods stretched from the Great Lakes region to the Great Rift Valley. Punt was one location within the great Ta-Nejter. In the creation story of Inunu, Nun represents the primordial waters of chaos from which all creation arises and is associated with the inundation of the Iteru (Nile River). The "Land of the Horizon-Dwellers" can be interpreted as a metaphorical and geographical representation of the realms that exist beyond the known world, which are often associated with divine order and beginning of creation. This land is depicted as a place of divine presence, where the sun rises and sets, symbolizing rebirth and continuous creation.
The horizon serves as a critical boundary where creation occurs, linking the terrestrial and celestial realms in the fabric of Kemetic belief. Thus, while the Land of Punt is geographically located south of Kemet is so-called sub-saharan Africa, its significance goes beyond mere geography. It represents both a source of wealth and the land of the gods which is intrinsically connected to the source of creation.
The association between the horizon and the realm of the gods is crucial. The Kemetyu viewed the horizon as a sacred space where the earth meets the sky, and this boundary is where the sun (Ra) travels each day. The journey of Ra across the sky is a reflection of the cyclical nature of life, death, and rebirth, which is central to the Inunu creation narrative. This ties back to the idea of the horizon as a place of divine action, where order is established from the chaos of Nun.
The Ethnicity of a faction of the inhabitants of the land of Punt was briefly alluded to in the "Festival of Min" at Medinet Habu. A man who takes part in the Festival recites a hymn to Min and he is referred to as "nHs n pwnt" which translates to “Nehesy of Punt". The term "Nehesy" refers to Nubians, a generic term for the various populations and ethnic groups associated with the lands south of Kemet. The Nehesy played a pivotal role in the creation of the nation as intermediaries and traders, facilitated the exchange of goods and cultural practices, and contributed to the economic and cultural wealth of ancient Kemet. This relationship goes back to pre-dynastic times, long before the unification of Upper and Lower Kemet.

FYI: I am from Tigray( border area between Eritrea and Tigray). I know that there is an ancient place called "MeQabr For'on" ( Burial place of Pharaohs) across the border with really deep ancient cemeteries in a rocky area.
In addition, I am convinced personally that the obelisks in Axum symbolize the crowns of the Egyptian chief god Amun. It is very clear that those people in the north ( Tigrayans on both sides of the current dividing artificial border between them) were parts of the ancient Upper Egypt.

I was involved in the feasibility study of the Koga irrigation project you are mentioning. As part of the feasibility study, the community to be affected was extensively consulted and made aware of the pros and cons of the project. People were very much happy that such a project which was going to increase their agricultural productivity was going to be implemented in their area. The project area is just few meters away from the town of Merawi. The land that was inundated following the construction of the dam was known “Bojed”. It was a vast plain that the community was using it before for grazing their cattle. I am glad the irrigation project was concluded to be feasible, and the dam and the irrigation canals were actually built and now benefitting nearly 20 thousand households.

Thank you for the lecture and discussion. It is a true pleasure to see African scholarship on many levels now dissecting our history and the greater connection to Kmt or Ta-Meri (Egypt).
Ta-Seri or Ka-Sha were the frontrunner to the establishment of Kmt and its fabulous dynasties. So Mach so that the Fari or Pharaoh had a fourth name Suten Ba which means where in Upper Kmt did you come from. Indicating the origins of Kmt came from Habesha and greater Nubia Ta-SETI or KA-Sha. My sister Weyni... this statement is wrong ? The word “Kemet,” meaning “black land” in ancient Egyptian, refers to the fertile, rich soil deposited by the Nile’s annual flooding.
The statement that "Kemet" means "black land" is correct. However, the statement that "Kemet" refers to the fertile, rich soil deposited by the Nile's annual flooding is incorrect. This statement is white supremacy propaganda.
Tony Browder is a great African scholar who has worked in Egypt and Africa for over 40 years.
He is the only person of African descent to have excavated in Egypt.
Browder's 40 years of research have thoroughly broken down those correct terms that refer to Black people. When you Google the meanings of all these names, you get the same result. It's fascinating to see how all four of these countries, in the same region, are referred to in the same way.
1, Kemet means Black Land or Black People.
2, Cushi" or "Kushi" is used meaning in the Hebrew Bible to refer to a dark-skinned person.
3,Ancient Aithiopia means the black people (it soon came to meaning the land of the 'Burnt-faced People')
4, Sudan meaning … The Land of the Blacks
5, Nubian : a native or inhabitant of Nubia. b. : a member of one of the group of dark-skinned peoples that formed a powerful empire between Egypt and Ethiopia from the 6th to the 14th centuries
The country's name derives from the Arabic bilad al-sudan, which means "land of the blacks." Sudan has an estimated population of 39 million, 52 percent of which are black, and 39 percent Arab.
When you look at the names of other countries and their meanings, which reflect their people, why would the meaning of ancient Kemet deviate to "soil," while other surrounding regions refer to their people?
The idea of "soil" doesn’t align.
"Cushi" or "Kushi," ancient Ethiopia, Sudan, and Nubia all mean Black or dark-skinned people.

The Green Sahara predates ancient Kemet by thousands of years. Due to climate change, some groups migrated from West and Central Africa ( Green Sahara), leaving the once-fertile region behind because of climate change.
This little-known aspect of history is seldom discussed. These migrations led various tribes to settle in the Nile Valley, where they experienced periods of conflict(War) before uniting to form the civilization we now know as ancient Kemet.

Excellent dialogue, but one well overdue, especially significant, coming from Habesha women. My personal conclusion is the Queen Mother Makeda and "Solomon" narrative concerned a sanitized version of the overthrown of the matriarchal system in the southern regions, replaced by the patriarchal order followed by the transfer (extracting) of knowledge, wisdom, wealth, and authority from the South (original custodians) to the North (foreign colonists). In my research, I also read about how King Ezana "fought the founder of the ancestor of the Hausa people," and that waves of them migrated West after their defeat. I figure this "founder" was among those who refused to convert to the new religion. I also suspect "Hausa" is a dialectical variation of "Habesha." I also read a report (commentaries) that mentioned a Tigre man stationed in either Abia State or Cross River State in Nigeria that he was shocked to find in a particular Igbo village where many words in their language were almost identical in sound and meaning in his mother tongue, Tigrinya. Lastly, the stone structures in Nabta Playa (Sudan) and Ethiopia are probably connected to the Ikom monoliths in Cross River State, Nigeria, and the stone monoliths in Senegal. Keep up the great work, Weyni. Adey, it's your time. You act as a critical catalyst for this time.

I cherish the fact that I can get African history told by Africans. For so long the African history has been sanitized by the European scholars. It’s so obvious that much of what we read has been abridged to reflect a positive imagery of the European scholars.
Thanks so much Ms. Tesfai! 🙏🏿
May I continue with some things that has puzzled for me for many years. I think this is an opening for me to express my thoughts.
Blacks were along the very earliest builders of great civilization’s on this planet including the development of writing, sciences, engineering, architecture, astronomy and fine arts. These accomplishments are not debatable! The strength and greatness of the African people measured by how, in the face of what at seemed to be all the forces of hell, they fought through and it all to survive and rebuild kingdoms and empires, some of which endured a thousand years. The city of Nowe, one of the oldest cities on earth, was begun by Blacks before recorded history. So, I ask what happened to the African people? Or, caused them to descend from the highest place to the lowest among the people of the world? The enteral wars are the destruction of African people! Why does this happen? If someone can help me understand this I will be grateful!

Ancient Ethiopia played a significant role in the development of ancient Egypt. The origins of ancient Egypt can be traced back to the desertification of the Sahara, which forced people to migrate towards the Nile River in search of water for agriculture and sustenance. This migration involved not only Ethiopians but also people who now occupy Eastern, Central, Western, and Southern Africa. Moreover, much of Zulu culture can be seen as a continuation of ancient Egyptian culture. The Greek historian Herodotus referred to the inhabitants of regions south of Egypt as "Aethiopians," claiming that they were the same as the ancient Egyptians whose black skin was a result of the burning sun.

"Aethiopians," was used first by Greeks to refer Upper and lower Egypt. Nubia is traditionally divided into two regions. The southern portion, which extended north to the southern end of the second cataract of the Nile was known as Upper Nubia; this was called Kush (Cush) under the 18th-dynasty pharaohs of ancient Egypt and was called Ethiopia by the ancient Greeks. The ancient Egyptian never migrated to Nile river because they lived around the Nile river. West African culture might be influenced from ancient Egypt but ancient Egyptian never immigrated to WESTERN, CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN AFRICA.

Axum destroyed kingdom of Kush together with Romans who took over Kemet after the Greeks. They fought aside the enemies of Ancient Egypy and Kush. Now they want us to believe that Habeshas are ancient Egyptians😂!
Habeshas (amhars and tigrays) are semitic speakers and mixed who do not even belong in Africa. They came in 1500bc after drought in Yemen (prof. Ephraim book on the history of Habeshas).

      You all
Inching to egypt, even to claim to be the " the architect and builder " of the Egyptian pyramid
In your country in Somalia presently, there is no monumental works such as pyramids , or obelisk that had been built thousands of years ago
Yet you guys, as if you partaken role in that Egyptian civilization you got so high, and take joy some one's history as your own
The greatest civilization in human history is not the Roman, nor the egyption , nor it was long ago
the greatest civlization is unfolding before our eyes, right now
so here you and I using RUclips, and communication technology, and AI is coming soon,
But You and your country still we are not the ingenuity behind the current technological undertaking
Thus work for now and for the future. Leave Egypt's history to egyption

@@CirakTekeletsione HAHAH The archeologist who went to the ancient city of Opone which is modern day Puntland did discovered ancient sites before the war. Once the conflict in Somalia is over there wont be any question who and where the ancient land of punt is.
Ethiopia has NOTHING to do with Land of Punt. Only Eritrea, Djibouti, and Somalia 🇸🇴. The only part of Ethiopia even remotely involved is Somali region. Haha

@@CirakTekeletsione Stop with your whining. Ancient Egyptians did NOT speak any Semitic language which you Ethiopians do. They spoke close to Cushitic language in the Hamitic language family. The word Ethiopia is NOT even African it comes from the Greek language which means Burnt face.
If you can’t produce extensive evidence of the language similarities then you are here whining and crying as usual.

Wow my beautiful sisters, you are so smart knowing all this history. I know some history which I learned in school and Ethiopian Orthodox church. For example Moses wife is Ethiopian. Thank you . please don't stop I love history but it isn't true what you said about Tigrai and Amhara region farmers have different holidays for farming. Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo religion has the same written laws. Priests maybe say not to work on the farms on holidays. When you do your research you need to ask the church or read the Orthodox kenona and dogma law .

Ancient Egyptians were Cushitic nation of Somali,Beja,Oromo,Sidamo and Afar few other Cushitic tribes. Not all Ethiopian’s are Cushitic.Amhara and tigrey are black semites who are closer to original Arabs and Hebrews. The culture, language and looks are all linked to Cushitic nations.Modern day Egyptians are sons of Greeks,Turks and Albanian. The name Ethiopia is connected to Cushitic nations and was falsely given to Abyssinia. The coloniser did not want to give that name to Sudan who had strong Beja Cushite’s tribes.European coloniser didn’t want to give this name to Muslim Sudan. So they hid history of Abyssinia and named it Ethiopia.Killing two birds with one stone to delete African history.

Sudan, Egypt and Eritrea used to called Ethiopia according your discussion. Egyptions particlarly Nubians aslo call Aswan are older than Ethiopia; therefore, one can argued Ethiopia itself was parts of older Egyptions.
We will need free African researchers so one group or nation can't claim false history of its own.
