1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Pokémon on each route.
3. Nickname Pokémon
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

You can get Venipede early? Between Gym 1 and 2 I know it might not ha e helped to much but you can get him in the Dark Grass before Gym 2 on route 20? Idk the one that connects to the ranch

Great video. I found your channel after the bug only run and this one kept getting better as it went on. I really like how you edit the attempts as it increases investment in the challenge when you see where you failed and how you overcome that part of the run in a future attempt. Much more entertaining than just seeing the final attempt only where everything goes well.

I did have an idea for a hardcore Nuzlocke.
It applies to X and Y but you can only use Pokémon that can Sky Battle and you must complete EVERY sky battle as the game progresses.
I forgot sky battles were a thing tbh. I'll add it to the list, sounds cool

@@psyduckspice idk how much of a "challenge" it would be but in gen 6 and 7 my first play through I used a team that represented every generation so for example for gen six my team was Blastoise, hound doom, Gardevoir, Lucario,joltick ,goodra. And for gen 7 I made an Alola Pokemon count for both gen 1 and 7 and built a team around that thought. Maby you could do a nuz locke or something with that as an interesting twist

I know right! Like id never complain about my luck because sometimes its just as crazy, but that last gym was a bit mad.
You could have gotten dig before the 4th gym, which is of course a good move vs elesa and clays excadrill, but also lets you get 1 more turn of black sludge recovery. (you also don't get hit by bulldoze when you're underground with dig). Good run otherwise and congrats

@@psyduckspice and the TM for Smack Down is in the Nimbasa City Battle Subway for some BP, so you'd be able to hit Emolga for super effective damage if you outsped or got lucky on Elesa's volt switch shenanigans
I dont often use tms that you get from BP, probably would have helped though

@@psyduckspice OK I had done a poison run myself literally a year ago just playing it for fun since poison types are my favorite as well and I also did the same starter as you only to realize the rules for mine included that I must catch all poison types before the endgame but I realize the final poison type was out of my reach
Ah that's fair, yeah poison types are great, and they're actually decent after gen 4 which is nice

Great video but I’m a little confused why is your level cap bellow the ace of the 7th and 8th gyms?
So Im playing the game in challenge mode, which gives the gym leaders new pokemon and higher levels. However, despite the game showing that the gym leaders have higher level pokemon, they actually have the same stats as they would in normal mode. I think its a bug or something, but strangely because of this id be giving myself a level advantage if I level to the gym leaders ace. To work around this and still play on challenge mode, I used the level caps from the base game. Should of put this info in the video, my bad. Glad you enjoyed though!
