The egg can actually be hatched from the Ranch. Accept the egg, and then make a beeline for Aspertia. Stop in the gate, and run around, you should always make it, and you get a 6th mon before Cheren. Aspertia City Gate counts as its own unique area in Gen 5, meaning you can hatch an egg there, as well as in every other gate.

Something you can try in your attempts that helped ME to get Out of early Game With minimal losses and succesefully nuzlocke it in the end was: shaking grass encounter virbank complex outside --> Always audino which is meh but you will have to get it at some point anyhow, so might as Well start early l thought . Then directly after that inside virbank complex go shaking grass again and since audino is a dupe you have a decent chance to roll Beldum. Great Steel type for Roxy and throughout the game, great pkmn overall. You can also geht porygon there if i remember correctly, which ist also bonkers with eviolite later.

I always go with the second encounter on the first route. It wasn't the case in the earlier games, but some games force your first encounter, I remember XY did, so to ensure randomness I go with the second one.
I have only watched videos of this romhack, and I'm already having flashbacks of Roxie's Golbat ... EDIT: I guess she had her Golbat for Redux; regardless she was still a brick wall.
You can actually get 2 separate encounters at virbank complex, one at the outside and another on the inside, also, you can hatch the gift egg at that first corridor after the starter town, this means that you'll have 6 pokemon for cheren and an extra for roxxie!
@@psyduckspice no, it dosnt, they are completely separete areas! This will make you have a higher chance of getting a poison/stell type for roxxie, and let you get charmander instead of bulbasaur
I know they have different encounters, but I always assumed it was the same area (at least when it came to where the pokemons description says I caught it, which is what I always use to count areas). If its different thought thats stupidly helpful! thanks!!

You've put up way more than a good fight. I know it's supposed to be a challenge. But things are already so rigged against you in this rom hack (Colress's freaking MT and UFO, among others). I'm all good with somewhat relaxing either the rule about no set-up moves or no EV training (or both).

I think there was an update recently that made the early game slightly easier, so that might have been changed
