    A fantastic video that explains everything you could want regarding a faulty fan motor. Just ordered a new Hotpoint motor in anticipation with confidence that the motor is faulty.

    Thank you very much. You have confirmed what I thought the problem was on my cooker. My fan is running at a slow speed. I have taken it apart. I hope I can find the part that I need in Israel.
    Your video is very good and very informative.
    I fix air conditioners and have similar faults.

    Thank you so much!
    The other important thing is to make sure the back fan part is on the right way.
    That was my mistake when I replaced the part and the fan wouldn't turn.
    When I disassembled the part, I put it on the counter and unknowingly a family member, that I usually love, apparently flipped it on me lol.
    Great video, you are a lifesaver!

    These sorts of videos are what we're after, thanks. Replaced fan motor with universal and when it rotates, the RPM is fine. Problem is that 'sometimes' it doesn't start to rotate and needs a flick. When flicked it's fine and blowing well. Any ideas?

    Nice to see more info than in most that are just trying to sell parts rather than fix them.
    My (Candy) oven fan cost me an element, when I didn't notice that it wasn't always running up to speed. It would be a good idea to let people know that when an element blows, it may actually be the fan that failed first, so you should always check that the fan is running up to speed before turning on the heat and making sure it keeps turning. This is one case where you may regret not having a noisy fan that you can always tell is running before you smell burning and it's too late.
    I still need to find out why the fan runs smoothly but does not always kick in to full speed mode. What should I be looking for if the bushes run smoothly?
    A drawback of inspecting the fan can be getting the door off and lined up again when you put it back. And, also, it is really annoying having to turn the house upside down looking for thicker and thicker self tapping screws every time you take the fan cover off!
    One more thing I haven't been able to solve is that, even with the fan balanced and running smoothly (you can level the vanes on a sheet of glass or on the bottom of a good saucepan), the clips that hold the element coils apart all vibrate noisily as the thermostat kicks in and out. I've not been able to stop that with any amount of spacers or repositioning. Maybe you have a trick to stop it?
    Many thanks for the video.

    On some ovens more than one part number was used during its manufacturing life. I have that situation. TWO diferent shaft lengths are mentioned - and the part markings can't be seen unless it is totally removed from the oven. This video answered all my key questions, I do believe my fan is running slow - probably only 50% of the speed I expected. I hope your site can tell me which specific part I need. Even for me, I don't think it will take more than an hour to fit a replacement unit. Thanks for your efforts.

    Intermittent fault. Oven turned to fan oven setting, fan and light don't turn on, element comes on. Oven turned to fan oven +top element setting, fan, light and elements work as normal. I take it the panel switch[rotary encoder?] is working and its a dry joint or PCB relay problem? Known fault?

    Hi does the universal motor suit a replacement for a kleenmaid 34W 230V?

    • @How-to-repair
      @How-to-repair  Год назад

      you need to check all the measurements correctly as it is important that the fan blade does not stick into the oven too much and of course you need to space the motor at the back to make sure it's not touching any of the framework

  • @Hikingviking69
    @Hikingviking69 2 года назад

    My cooker fan has started making a noise upon starting up, by holding the blade there is movement back and forwards on the middle rod.
    Does the motor need replacing?

    • @How-to-repair
      @How-to-repair  2 года назад

      The first thing you need to check is whether you have 240 volts or the voltage that is required in your country at the fan motor when it starts.
