Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I took my truck in to have the water pump replaced because I just didn't have the time. When I got it back from my mechanic it wasn't the same! It had no power at all. I stumbled across this video and started to check things out. I changed the air filter, did a tune up with plugs and coil packs. Ouch! I did the tune up at 75K and should have done it again at 150K but my 2011 now has 180K. I crawled under the truck and immediately saw the oil dripping under the intercooler. I pulled back the cover and saw the hose not only loose but DISCONNECTED! I will be having a conversation with my mechanic but I am so glad to have my truck back! 👍
I have a video where I unhooked the charge pipe from my 2016 F165 and drove it on the hwy. A fan told me someone said you could not drive a 2.7 F150 without the boost. No it wasn’t fast but I could still drive it.
On my way!! To the garage. I don't have any engine lights but my 3.5 has become sluggish in a month. But still runs smooth..almost as if I have no boost. I'll check all of those hoses/clamps. Hope I find a bad one..
@@buzza2077 yes.. The garage found a blocked cat. Replaced both and the truck was screaming again. But now It seems to not be the SAME AGAIN! been 5k and about 7 months
@@mickmouse92 damn that couldn't have been cheap. I was accelerating onto the highway and pop. No boost, no lights just a loud whistle. I was thinking maybe a boot to the turbo but of course it's bitch black and everything is covered in ice so I can't see jack. I appreciate the fast response tho! I think I'm just gonna limp it home and thaw it out and see what I can find.
@@buzza2077 yeah maybe $2K. The pop you mention rings a bell. Similar to a hose. There are a few of them. And vacuum hoses..and the waste gate but all hard to look at on a wim. Especially cold and wet...good luck.
Nice video. So I had this happen today and the lower intercooler connection on the drivers side blew and the connection is damaged. The wire piece is good. My question is why does this happen? Is there a problem with the electronic blow off valve. The only way for this to blow with a loud boom is to have so much back pressure.
My check engine light came on last year with the P0299 code. I had someone tell me I just needed to “kick it” while going up a hill. They turned it off and it never came back on until now, a year later. Today I was going up a hill and the light came on with the same code. So I tried to “kick it” but I heard something that sounded like someone spraying hairspray. I don’t recall hearing that before so after watching this video I’m nervous that it could be worse now.
@@TruckStuff1 I ended up “kicking it” like I was told and then restarted it and the check engine light went off. My boost is working again. I was told to put Lucas stuff in with my gas to clean everything. As you probably can tell I’m definitely not a mechanic so hopefully you may understand what I’m talking about. I don’t know all the terms. 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

@@TruckStuff1 I'm having the same issues i took it in to the ford dealership and they charged me $4000.00 for the repairs and insisted it should fix the issues i was having. @@Joshjoshnbvjmy EXACT issue right now! Only when towing up hill do I get wrench and possibly check engine light. Never any other time. I did upgrade my intercooler and air intake recently though. What was the cure for yours please!?
Could this cause a low boost problem ? I use to push 19-22 psi on my stock eco boost mustang but now it feels sluggish and I noticed it barley holds 15 psi
I think i have the same proplem actually i hear the engin making more noise in 2nd 3rd gear and i hear turbo noise very loudly like air coming out of pips but in high speed it actually better is that the same proplem you had ? Sorry for my bad language i hope you understand

Wow so glad this video helped you!
Same. Had my water pump done and a week later this code. I hope this is what's wrong with my truck. Fingers crossed.
..... awesome video, thank you for taking the time to record and share this video, this certainly help me tremendously, thank you

You can drive with no boost, but it won't have much power and you shouldn't do it for very long.
I hope my problem is similar. Just happened to me, no oil splashed around or anything. I have the 3.5. One can only hope.

Hopefully it's just a loose boot.

The "hairspray" description sounds like a boost leak. Usually is an easy fix if a boot came loose. But it could also be a broken IC

Yea did you figure it out ?
I'm having the exact issue with my 2016 2.7 ecoboost. 😢
My turbos just lost boost I stopped turned the truck of and back on. Now it is working fine.
Most likely an electrical issue then

The name of the connector that connects to the relief valve

Yup!
Have a 2018 edge just replace the turbo but the light will not go off and i have no codes any suggestions
And no leaks anywhere my mechanic has no idea what is happening
