Love this one, I was surprised to see how far this movie went into how real patsys are created and framed. Love the ending as well.
The old man he seeks out for wisdom is Levon Helm. He was the drummer/singer with “The Band”.
RIP
Awesome thanks, loved his role. Still have the shovel
So if nobody has said it yet, the canned whip cream used nitrous oxide as a propellent. It doesn’t last very long but can act as a temporary anesthetic. Whip-its are the same thing but concentrated in a co2 type canister for re-fills in kitchen type cream dispensers. Teens use to buy them at head shops in the 90’s along with a “cracker” and baloons to release and hold the gas. Colloquially known as “hippy crack” it can be quite dangerous and cause permanent brain damage if abused. These days it isn’t as popular as a party drug.
Good info, thanks 😀
Easily my favorite of the vast "Genre I Will Not Type On The Internet". Granted it gets a ton of bonus points because the "still have the shovel" guy is Levon Helm, drummer/singer in The Band.
Watched this movie like 97 times back in college instead of studying.
As you should have..l!!
No, you didn't watch this 97 times. Stop lying.
If you graduated then you didnt watch it enough
Same my guy same
You should have read the book this was based on... "Point of Impact"... it was MUCH better than this movie. This screenplay was a HEAVILY rewritten version of a much better story. If you never read the book, I'm sure this film seemed great... but for those of us that love the book, it was a pale shadow and almost unwatchable.
thank you for reacting to this movie ,it's one of the most underrated american movies and for those with thinking abilities we know WHY , for those into conspiracies this might feel a bit too close to home ...
Kate Mara and her younger sister, Rooney Mara, are great-granddaughters of two NFL team founders - Tim Mara of the New York Giants and Art Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their dad is director of player personnel for the Giants.
Yeah, both are phantastic actors. Confusing fact: Kate Mara's full name is "Kate Rooney Mara" and Rooney Mara's full name is "Patricia Rooney Mara". So both actually have Rooney as middle name. Though Patricia goes by her middle name while Kate goes by her first name :)
My favourite movie with Rooney Mara is "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Even though Daniel Craig is the main actor, the title actually refers to her and she essentially carries the movie. Her revenge on that filthy state appointed guardian is one of the most satisfying things ever. Even though I do not support vigilantism, abusing a girl that already struggled her whole life in this way is one of the most disgusting things you can think of. The only thing that could top this is when it's done on a minor. Though we can appreciate things in movies / fiction, even though we don't support it in reality.
R.I.P Ned Beatty
(1937-2021)
"In the Line of Fire" is also a really, really good movie in the "plot to kill the president" genre. It's worth watching for sure.
that one will be reacted to at some point. It actually won the poll. I screwed up the result.
@@AwesomeUSMovies you should watch JFK first
You have seen the guy in the wheel chair on the channel as well in Snatch he was Boris the Blade or Boris the Bullet Dodger his name is Rade Serbedzija.
Also when Bob Lee uses the cans of whipped cream to pass out, he uses the slang term Whippits. This is a real thing Nitrous Oxide (yes the laughing gas they give you at the dentist) is used as a preservative and the compressed gas to force out the whipped cream when the can is turned upside down, however if you leave the can upright and press the nozzle only the gas comes out. Breath enough of it in and you get high, breath too much of it in and you pass out.
OMG HE was Boris!!!
Agreeably my favorite mark wahlberger movie
The bob lee swagger book series is very good. Steven Hunter is the author.
Yes, I didn't know they were based on books. Another commenter let me know. Already almost finished the first one.
Such a great flick and they don't shy away from difficult scenes, because it would happen this way. Thanks for the reaction, loved it.
Glad you enjoyed
Underrated movie
Yet another favorite movie of.mine. Ioved rewatching with you
So glad you watched this! It's one of my favorite movies. Mark Wahlberg is sometimes underrated, I think. Great reaction as usual, buddy. Have a good Easter.
So good!
Shooter great movie 🎬 love this movie ❤️ 🎬 Mark Wahlberg
The "Still got the shovel" scene is probably my all time favourite scene from a movie. Great reaction. You laughed pretty hard at that one. Love this flick.
So good!
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Glad you enjoyed
The man they go to for wisdom and tells them about the paper wrapped bullet is played by Levon Helm. He was the drummer in the band, “The Band”.
I live near Woodstock NY and ran into Levon a number of times. He was once of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. R.I.P. Levon
@@tommiller4895 Very cool to hear.
I agree a great movie,
Loved the revenge trip of Bob Lee Swagger, there is also a very good tv show of Shooter, Another tv show about somewhat of the same subject is the tv Show
The Terminal List,
So far 1 season of 8 episodes
And renewed for a second season.
I wish you an Awesome Weekend and Enjoy Your cookies.🍪🍪🍪
That old man in the cabin they talked too…. Is Levon Helm, was a member of The Band back in the day.
Smooth is fast, Fast is slow
You’re right this time.😂 and by the way the old guy playing the gunsmith in Tennessee was played by Levon Helm of The Band. He also played Loretta Lynn’s dad in Coal Miners Daughter.
"Just driving down the center of the road... because you can..." My Gramma lived in a mostly rural area, and she did that occasionally. When I'd say something about it she's shrug and reply "nobody else is out here..."
Please also watch Mile 22, also starring Mark Whalberg.
@ the 11:48 minute mark you asked: "How do they know who he is?"" (As in , how did the media know his name). Think about it ---- the people who set him up as the patsy, were the ones who hired him to "help" provide advice on how to protect the president from a sniper. Follow me here ---- The people who set him up obviously knew his name. They were going to commit the assassination, and then kill him, and tell the media, "Hey, media, we caught and killed the assassin. And his name is Bobby Lee Swagger".
Really like this one. Thanks for your reaction.
Definitely one of my all time favorites. This movie taught me how to paint my rifles 😂
I call the girl scout cookies crack😂
Do you put the thin mints in the freezer?
Sugar water= glucose
Salt water= saline
He’s the man! Sniper extraordinar!
Extraordinaire
@@eatsmylifeYT deeply grateful
Your patrons should recommend "The Italian Job" with Mr. Wahlberg, with Donald Sutherland and Edward Norton. You'll love that one for sure.
Ooooooo! The Italian Job is great! I also love Mark Wahlberg in Four Brothers if you're looking for a vengeance/family story. Technically the Italian Job is a heist/revenge story. lol
It’s not ALL corruption. The world is a complex
Place and I believe 79% of folks in law
Enforcement mean well. The 29% is too high and too protected.
Like this movie, it’s a nice easy watch. Part of this movie was shot in a suburb of my hometown Vancouver Canada. Specifically the scene where they go shopping for supplies at the sporting goods store, it was a store my friend worked at called Army & Navy. My friend wasn’t in the movie but she got to watch Mark Wahlberg and Michael Peña ride Segways in the parking lot between shots.
The scenes of Marks cabin were also in British Columbia.
Additionally, both sugar and salt used on wounds play their part to clean and dry out the wound, helping prevent infection. He would have also added salt to the water to make a saline solution for the IV.
If you like Mark Wahlberg another good movie of his is Three Kings (1999)
Love this movie! GO HAWKS!
So in your opening you seemed happy to have an inkling of what the movie was about…. I smiled to myself, great movie fun watch and review, Thanks 🙏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
15:55 Those cans contain nitrous oxide, which acts as an anaesthetic.
Weird, didn't know that
The first time I ever saw Michael Peña was in this movie 🙂 And boy is it a good movie 😀
15:46 Canned whipped cream uses nitrous oxide as the propellant. It's the same stuff that dentists use to knock you out.
Comes from a great seriesbof books about Swagger who in the books was Vietnam sniper but wad updated for movie
Great books
I'm biased because it's my favorite movie, but hopefully you'll get to "The Departed" one day, which has Mark Wahlberg in it. All-star cast in it - Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson (the colonel in A Few Good Men), Matt Damon, Wahlberg, Martin Sheen (the father-in-law from Catch Me If You Can), and Alec Baldwin (from The Hunt for Red October), and directed by Martin Scorsese, who did Goodfellas and Cape Fear.
Hey you should check out these few movies if you haven't yet they're really good
Red 1 and 2
Unstoppable
In the next three days
3:10 to Yuma
Hildago
Lucky Number Sleven
Taking of Pelham 123
Bleed for this
Sweet Girl
Braven
Sisu
I loved this Movie.
As you've said you've read lots of books. Have you had a chance to read the Terminal List books by Jack Carr? They did an Amazon Prime series based on the first book. Very much in line with this movie's genre.
Really??? Will check that out.
The whippets contain nitros oxide laughing gas he knocked himself out
You can use granulated sugar to help clot wounds...you just pour it on. You can also use honey as an anti bacterial...you might want to boil it first.
Cool
Other movies starring Mark Wahlberg add them to the list
(Lone Survivor 2013)
(Four Brothers 2005)
(Fear 1996)
(The Basketball Diaries 1995)
(Renaissance Man 1994)
The Italian Job
@@MoMoMyPup10 don't forget to add the year recommendations for James to add to his list for his patron's to pick from.
Thanks, I've added all these to my list. It's appreciated
I was trying to figure out who in the world you were talking about when you said Joseph from friends. Obviously, my first thought was Joey and I was like he most definitely is not in that movie and then I finally figured out. Pretty sure you met Joshua a.k.a. Rachel‘s. Client turned boyfriend… Got it
Oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah!!! ❤😊
Hot dog!! Such a great movie!!!! One of the best ever! 😊
If you like the movie, you should read the book it's based on, Point of Impact.
Michael Pena' he was also in Antman....this movie is based on a book series. About Bob lee swagger and kind about his father all are really good ,
"Shooter"? I don't even know her! 😆
You mentioned JFK. Now would be a good time to watch it, after Shooter.
shooter instead of Manchurian Candidate?!
Hi James, I love your show, it always lightens up my day. I would like to recommend a really great movie for you to reveiw : Frequency 2000. Its a great adventure movie, with many twists and turns that will keep you guessing whars going to happen next.Keep up the good work and remember you are Awesome! Signed fellow bookworm😁
I'll make sure it's on my list thank you so much
Love the reactions, doing awesome brother.
I appreciate it
If you wanna watch more, Mark Wahlberg movies I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but you should check out four brothers
Noted
1:01 great Genre to pick from. Yes. Air Force One is a good one.
Already reacted to that one. good flick: ruclips.net/video/lHXbxfYoHUc/видео.html
You should read all the Bob Lee novels by Stephen Hunter
I totally didn't know this was based on a novel. I really enjoyed this movie. So yeah, I probably will pick it up thanks
2.2 miles is the record. They say a Ukrainian broke that at 2.36 on a Russian but I looked up the information and it doesn’t seem in the least bit credible. So 2.2 is the record in my eyes and that is a damn long way
Hey fyi this is based on a series of books
Yeah, a commenter let me know, already almost done with the first book
Btw you should read the book that’s about this movie
Already almost done with the first one
Shooter is decent but both 'In the Line of Fire' and Oliver's Stone's JFK are MUCH better films in this same specific genre. Check them out.
In the Line of Fire is being reacted to at some point. That actually won the poll. I screwed up the result.
@@AwesomeUSMovies U screwed up nothing but appreciate the insight. U will enjoy Fire, Eastwood and great cast..only quibble is Hollywood much younger hot woman being love interest for much older man. Also a smart script. With your back story, when I watch your channel I always feel I am watching with an 'Amish' friend who missed all the movies but now later in life is finally getting around to viewing.
BTW: How are you??? 😊
Catching back up after Japan, how are you doing?
Waste of a post
