The night before my open heart surgery for a 99% closed aortic valve, my brother who had passed away 8 months earlier, woke me. I could see him and hear him telling me to come with him. I felt torn about leaving and told him I wasn’t ready, that I still had work to do. He gentle let go of my hand, and left the room. His presence gave me the courage to go through the surgery and fight my way back to good health. 😢

I have a second story to share as well. At my former house, a large 1970’s ranch, we had a couple of incidents. My son regularly saw “Shadow People” on the front porch in the middle of the night from his bedroom window. Also, one night my teenage daughter awoke suddenly sometime after midnight. She said the air in her bedroom felt thick and electrified, and her radio (that was sitting on a dresser across the room from her bed) suddenly turned on by itself. It was playing static. She was frozen in fear and unable to move. She finally got the courage to run from the bedroom and when she opened the bedroom door our two cats were sitting outside her door staring at it with wide eyes and their hackles raised. I now live in a house built in 2004 and thankfully have never experienced anything here except for the presence of the Holy Spirit!

Oh my goodness how scary! I too have seen a shadow person in our garden, I couldn't believe what I saw and I looked into other possibilities but no it was a shadow 2 metres from me which moved out of the light when I switched our garden light on, there is no doubt in my mind about it. In another home we lived in, which was haunted, I and my daughter experienced the 'music turning on' moment for no reason during the night. I have lived in another home which had no bad feelings at all, in fact it felt a very happy home. Currently the home in live in however is from 2011 and we are the only owners yet there has been many experiences for me here, I believe it is the land this house was built on which previously was gardened by a neighbours dad but also the spirits roam around outside, one spirit came to me at night (my bedroom is on ground level in the garden area), told me her name and I saw her, possibly a milk maid as we live on old farming land! Its all very interesting really. Enjoy your peaceful home.

When I was a teenager I lived in a house infested by demons. Each night I’d leave my bedroom door open and my radio on, its green dial illuminating like a night light, and every morning I’d wake up to my door closed and radio off. One night, however, I finally got to see *what* was turning my radio off: to say it looked like the “Crypt Keeper” from “Creepshow” does not begin to do it justice! And it oozed palpable fear. When it turned to look at me, literally less than a foot from my face, I think I levitated from my bed and flew from that room. And that, as they say, was nothing compared to other things that went on. Everywhere I’ve lived since childhood has been haunted.

WOW!!! I can totally believe your experiences. I remember after my husband died in 1997, I used to hear him walking down the hallway. His ankles always clicked when he walked due to an accident many years before. When I mentioned it to the kids they said they had also heard it and so had a couple of their friends. They always thought it was the old man checking up on them. Then in 2007 I was having a bath in the evening and a voice yelled at me saying "You are not going to die, it's not your time, you won't die". I was like "what the heck??" Yelled out to my partner asking if he was being stupid, but he was actually outside talking to a neighbour. The next morning on the way to work, I had a bad car accident and really thought I was going to die as the pain was so bad, but I remembered the words from the night before and that kept me calmer. I always had a feeling that it was my husband giving me a warning. If it was, I am so grateful to him as it stopped me panicking. And yes I did hear the voice on your video. Willows reaction was incredible, yes I'm sure there was someone there. My nephew when he was little had a hat that belonged to my father-in-law and he used to talk to it saying that his grandfather was talking to him. One day my sister-in-law found the hat down a bank and gave it back to her son, he said that he didn't need it anymore as granddad had gone away. Thank you for an amazing video. My family included Mom, Dad, maternal Irish grandma, and five children, of which four were girls, one a boy. Our family is divided on the subject of our Irish heritage including stories of ancestors having esp, premonitions and generational psychic gifts...because some have fear over its presense in their lives. My mother feared it, didnt want it...but my Irish grandma, a younger sister and myself accepted the facts and experiences we had come up in our lives. One such incident that occurred was when my parents were house hunting, determined on moving our family to a safer, more rural area. I was 9 years old. My folks had not told anyone that they were planning this, so imagine their surprise when I told my mother I kept having a recurring dream of a house we were living in. My grandma, who had premonitions, suggested I draw pictures of our "dream home". So I began drawing it at kitchen table. My 6 year old sister, who was an exceptional artist, walked by and said, "Don't forget the three white trees by driveway." I asked her how she knew about THAT...because I hadnt described my "dream house" details to anyone! My sister said, "I dreamed it too." That scared my mother, but grandma had each of us to draw it. Weeks later, my parents announced they had found a home. My grandma got her Bible and pulled out the detailed drawings of the house, handing them to my mother for first time. The birch trees in front yard by driveway, the front porch with step down going to a patio, the picture window...the stone fireplace, the gas post light...all drawn by my sister and I...of the exact house we were moving into! My sister and I were excited, but my grandma secretly felt it was not a good idea. The nightmares began the first night. I dreamed of fire...and woke up smeling smoke. My grandma was staying with us. She asked me if we were playing with a candle. We never did that, but she thought it smelled like a just extinguished wax candle. A few days passed and I woke up hearing children skipping rope, while singing a nursery ryhme. I pulled back the curtain by my bed and saw four little girls playing in our driveway. I was excited and ran out in my pjs to meet them...but they were gone. I came back inside and asked my sister if she saw where they went. She told me they "disappeared." My grandma said she had heard them and they probably lived down the road. Grandma looked out the front door the next morning...and called to us that the girls were back, playing again. But when we ran outtside...they were gone. That night, I had the fire nightmare again...and my mother and grandma came to wake me up. My mother smelled smoke and my grandma looked very sad. By my grandma's urgings, that next morning, my mother walked to our next door neighbor and asked about the history of our new home. She was gone for a long time...and looked scared and shell-shocked when she returned. The neighbor told Mother that our home was built over the ashes of another home. A family of four girls, one boy, had lived there. The neighbor mentioned the girls were always singing as they skipped rope in the side driveway. The neighbor lady sang the song...the same nursery ryhme we had heard. She hesitated, then told my mother, in a whisper, "The older brother let them light a candle in the bedroom by the driveway. But he had them blow it out before they went to sleep. The neighbor said no one knew how things caught fire, but presumed the children were playing with matches. My mother shakily told her mother what the history of house was. My mother wanted to move, but my father thought it would be okay. A few days later, I saw a teen boy riding a horse in front of our home. He called out to me. He said he used to live in a house there. He said the neighbors were talking about us seeing ghosts! He asked me if I had "talked to" his sisters. I felt his deep sorrow. He asked if I could "call them" so he could say he was sorry...as he said that, I felt a presense, a sadness near me. I had never tried to talk to ghosts...but his sadness was so deep in him, he could barely speak.I did what I had seen my grandma do...I closed my eyes, said a prayer, asking God to guide me and help this boy. He took my hands and I heard the oldest girl, felt her near. She told him it was not his fault, that the two younger ones got up later at night, sneaked in older girls room, re- lit the candle...and it scared them when it flamed up and accidently knocked the candle out of its holder, and as it rolled on floor drapes, rug, bedding caught flames quickly. I felt the boy shaking me and I woke up on ground, confused, but remembering I had seen the "ghost children" as I woke up. My grandma came running, told me I did a dangerous thing... but the boy thanked me and went away with tears, but also a lightness in his heart. Grandma and me kept it from my mother, but my grandma taught my sister and I how to build invisible, emotional walls to be safe, but to also be okay if we see or feel things that others dont or wont...out of fear. I know this sounds crazy and far-fetched...but it truly is ...a real story.

Thank you for sharing and no… it doesn’t sound crazy! Similar, my grandmother, my mother, myself, and my children have a small gift. I remember once taking a bus ride with my mother and many other people. she asked me to close my eyes and tell me what I saw Coming ahead, and I explained what I saw, and then she said, open your eyes in a few moments later what I explained what I saw to her we were driving by. She said then I just wanted to see if you can do it too, and she warned me not to share the gift with many because they would think we were crazy. 🥴

@@newenglandfineliving It can also have people trying to get you to give them winning lottery ticket numbers, predict stocks, or worse, blame you if they have bad luck or a tragedy ...and YOU didnt "see it coming." I have been called evil and a witch, even though I am a strong woman of Christian faith. I believe people are given gifts by God upon their birth. So its like being an artist, writer, singer, musician, doctor, builder, minister, priest, nun, etc. God gives you gifts and you can use them, or ignore them. I can understand why some dont use or talk about their "gift"...knowing someone sick in hospital, someone you love ...is going to die; having nightmarish dreams that you sense are not "just nightmares"; thinking you are seeing a person then realizing they are a ghost...and being "different" ...so your parents get angry/scared when you tell stuff at 4 years old, and it happens, or neighborhood kids cant come play...yep, not fun.

I have never seen ghosts in this way, but when I still lived near Boston, a contractor friend took me to look at a condo development. It turns out it wasn't new but a remodel of a large victorian building and I got an overwhelming feeling of sadness during that tour, as if the people who had been there were deeply deeply unhappy. Later I found out it used to be an asylum! (Happy ending: years after this I was invited to an event by a resident. I recognized the building, but the sad feeling was not present at all. Felt such relief for current and past residents)

Oh Linda, I got chills from the fireplace video and Willow's reactions. The "whisper bark" and soft growl are scarier than a full on bark. I believe in spirits/ghosts. When I was in my teens, showing horses, a friend of mine had many encounters with a poltergeist. All of her carefully tended riding clothes, boots and head wear would be topsy-turvy in her dressing room. There was a pair of equestrian lamps that would always be turned facing the wall. I was never afraid, just fascinated. Also, my grandmother believes she has a poltergeist in her home! 🙋‍♀️

She would sit on the edge of my Mother in Laws bed and look up to a corner of the ceiling and other places like she was interacting with someone. We also had a few things appear in the house. Thanks for the chills story--I had something similar happen to me. My brother and his wife purchased our family home after my father passed away (mom passed several years earlier). My brother later divorced from his wife and continued to live in the home. He was not well mentally and literally started to 'renovate' the house in ways that did not make sense. He got very ill and passed away about 10 years ago. When my sister and I were clearing out the house and were nearing completion of clearing the mess, I was alone in the master bedroom trying my darndest to vacuum a carpet with a shop vac. It was a sunny day and all the windows were closed (the day was nice enough to not need the furnace running). I felt a cold movement of air on the back of my neck and stopped what I was doing. I turned to look behind me to see what caused the breeze and there was nothing there, but I felt the most wonderful sensation of someone smiling at me--and felt almost an embrace--kind of like a hug. I smiled back and went about finishing my work. I never told anyone about this before today. But, I still can feel the hug.

I was walking through the early section of a small village cemetery in Connecticut when I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I stopped dead in my tracks sensing that someone or something was behind me. Not knowing what to expect, I decided that I would face this head on. After taking a deep breath, I quickly spun around and saw ectoplasmic forms sitting atop some of the headstones. I said a prayer and continued walking around. I have also sensed the presence of deceased relatives near me. One example is that I sensed my father beside me as I was driving what used to be his car. I'm a believer.

We have a Cockapoo who does the very same thing. Years ago we lived in a very old cottage, we had a Springer Spaniel he was very old & usually quiet as a mouse. One night I was alone in the living room, all of a sudden (Ben) our dog, let out this horrendously loud howl like a wolf, I nearly fell off the sofa..truly, what it was I never found out, but never underestimate animal intellect!!….. The sun as not and not a tree nearby to cast a shadow. I have had other types of experiences in our home (1966 ranch). One of the most recent ones, our poltergeist has a sense of humor. While in the shower my squeegee would fall off of the little bench while my back was turned. This happened a few times. Each time I would pick it up and place back on the little bench. There was no reason for that to happen. So, I just laughed and said wait your turn and it stopped. Our two cats have acted like Willow many times. Animals are so much more sensitive than humans are. Another time my husband and friends were sitting around the dining room table and an antique teacup came flying off the server, over their heads over the table and landed safely on the floor. I loved this video. I've been so obsessed with ghost stories lately, and this was really fun. I'm glad you're comfortable with it. I think many people, because of their own fear, think that a haunting can only be a bad thing. I've been sensitive to these things my whole life, but after a recent diagnosis of stage 4 cancer, the vail between the 2 world's has become very thin. I'm so fascinated with it all!
Thank you for sharing. I now wish I would have created a journal for my own experiences. It's a brilliant idea that I will be starting today.

Linda, this was great. Thank you so much for sharing this story with us. Your videos are amazing, and the voice was so clear. I wonder what he meant by those words. I've also had a number of encounters and my dogs also seemed to be listening and/or looking at a particular point in several of the houses that I've lived in over the years. At one point, I also finally asked my "resident" to please leave as he (yes, he) was upsetting me and my dog. He kindly left. I'm also glad you don't have any "residents' at Sugarwood, we all need a break! The fireplace looks beautiful. Hope to see more of the decor in the "new" rooms. Have a great weekend!

I love that you’re an empath Linda. Absolutely true. So great that you did one about this topic. As you probably know, spirits can, in part, take on a familiar look or sound so we’re not alarmed while making an introduction. In my humble opinion, they’re people who are sticking around for any multitude of reasons and want to visit, are lonely, or just not finished with interacting with the physical world. Do you relate to this take. Would love hearing your thoughts…

Thank you Linda.. it’s always so interesting to me to hear these stories and hear peoples experience and see clips of actual happenings. I too have had some encounter with entities, mostly good but only one not so good. The one not so good was of a person with a dark cape and hat and it had no face just an image, it startled me so much that I ran up the stairs, which I felt it followed me into my room. It didn’t go into my room but when I turned around I felt like a hand clearly put it’s arm into the room and it disappeared… I was told by a very good friend of my moms, who told me to fill a glass of water and go through all the rooms in the house saying three hail Mary’s and Three Our Father’s and place the glass in my room and leave it there, when and if the water turned cloudy to throw it away and repeat the process over again until it stayed clear.. and boy did it ever work. I never felt that ever again.

And always looking about as if he’s seeing something we don’t see. And at times he actually barks loudly looking into a dark room. And also growling at thin air. It’s so interesting to hear from someone else. My children are grown but they’ve had weird experiences while being here overnight. I'm a believer too. When I was in Venice, we (me and my friend) were staying in an old palazzo hotel, of course all the buildings there are hundreds years old. And one night we were making a video and we captured a clear male voice sayin in Italian language 'Un altra con vivere..." which would mean " another one living"!!! We didn' t hear that when staying there, just until we came home and watched the video we made, we were astonished to realize that we were not alone in that room 🙂 we also don't speak italian! So, yes these things are real. Thank you for sharing your experiences, that evp and ghost stories.

I'm never really scared but I have had some incredible encounters over the years. I am still experiencing a male that loves to whistle a tune. I have asked him to please not whistle when I'm alone in the house because it startles me. I truly believe in ghosts, be happy it was a friendly, mischievous one, and not an evil one. When my mother-in-law passed away, she came back to visit my home, and my two dogs went nuts, barking at her, with their hair, standing up on their backs. I was unable to see anyone, but they obviously did. They appeared to have her cornered on the step landing. It was very eerie, but I believe she just wanted to come back and visit. My home which has been my sanctuary for many decades is visited by the elderly lady I bought it from. She was the widow of a vicar when her son pushed her to move to a ‘small brick box’ (her words) closer to him. She didn’t want to move and would only sell her house to someone she had interviewed beforehand. I was lucky to be chosen as it’s a beautiful old home which I’ve progressively renovated over the years. Many years later I felt her visiting. (I found out she had passed) Firstly mainly in the front hall and my cats at the time knew she was there too. Later when I finished the large attic area upstairs, Mrs Single visited often and opened the new doors upstairs to let me know she approved.

Our dogs were always sensitive to things. We also had smoke detectors go off several times a year in the middle of the nigh. We learned that there had been a fire which started in the basement almost forty years prior. Several objects misplaced and reappeared! Shadow people and unexplained sounds and cold spots! Orbs as well. Although we sometimes miss our old home, we are happy that there hasn’t been any experiences in our most recent home. I still sometimes get 0:20 that eerie feeling , but who knows. I grew up in a house where there was a ghost in the front bedroom. It was first used as the master bedroom until we completed an addition, then it became my bedroom. Both my mother and I both saw the ghost at various times. My mother thought it was my brother at first, but nope. He was wearing a nightshirt/short pj's.
After my MIL passed away, while my SIL and I were cleaning the house getting it ready to list, the wrapped up Christmas tree which had been on the floor under the window in a room on the third floor, was pushed up against the door, preventing the door from opening very easily, across the room from where it had been. Also, I was vaccuming her rug and a lamp from across the room flew off the table, breaking the lightbulb. My SIL watched it as well and there was nothing that could have made that happen except for a ghost. It made a believer out of my SIL. The home was a 200+ old Victorian in a suburb of Philadelphia.

I loved your ghost video. I call them Spirits and I have had several encounters with them. One appeared out of thin air before my eyes. I was sitting at our breakfast table talking on the phone. I had baked some chocolate chip cookies that afternoon for my son for a snack after school. It was around 5 o’clock when I noticed a milky wave in the middle of the kitchen and it started to form the back of a boys head, then a t-shirt and shorts. It appeared to be my son only bigger in size. My brain was telling me it’s my son. He was very slowly raising his hands to get some cookies. I raised my voice to scold him for going after more cookies and spoiling his dinner. Suddenly the boy turned to run out of the kitchen. I stood up to scold my son when I noticed the boy was running above the floor. My son then hollowed from upstairs that he was doing his homework and not down in the kitchen 😮. Yes, Spirits are among us. Thanks Linda. I hope you enjoyed my story.

My goodness Linda, the stories are just amazing and I loved hearing everything you have collected on these happenings. The stories I could also share with you in that I had a retail shop years ago in an old, old house. It wasn't unusual on a daily basis to hear a door open; no body there; footsteps on the stairs; no body there; doors banging shut; no body there. The front door of the shop opening around 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon with only the smell of Yardley perfume; no body there. I made a point not to let my employees know about these happenings and yet, they also experienced the same when they were running the shop alone without my presence. It would be so much fun to share other stories with you as I have had many of these things happen in my life time. Love what you have done and thanks for sharing your stories. I think we should feel honored that these souls allow us to experience their presence and perhaps unrest. Best wishes.

I saw her in 1985 while I was visiting my father and i was sleeping upstairs. I just assume it is great-great grandma Anne. I'm not afraid of her because she's family and she won't hurt me. Hi Linda, I was looking forward to this video since you mentioned it a while back. So interesting ! Thank you for sharing this with us. Oh and that voice you caught ??? 😲 I have had a few experiences of my own in the apartment I lived in while growing up until my young adulthood. Some were scary, some not. It was not a historic building though. One experience I had one evening while doing dishes with my mom. I was about 18-20 yrs old at the time (been living there since I was 5) . We were silent, she was washing dishes, I was drying them so we were close together, side by side. We both heard at the same time, a quick laughter from a man very close to our ear, as if he was standing right behind us peeking in between us at what we were doing. We were alone in the kitchen and nobody else was in the house. The laughter caught us both by surprise and we turned our heads simultaneously, looking at each other asking "Did you just hear that ?" So many happenings during the twenty years we lived there. I never wrote any of them down because I remember the details to this day, they were so vivid (I am now 64 years old).

Thank-you Linda,I’m a believer, since my son died, I’ve had several wonderful things happen to me, one was I saw a physic, I was skeptical, but she told me something my son saw after he passed, I purchased a new coffee maker and it would only make a half a cup, and I said to my daughter, ifJustin was here he could figure this out, she told me he heard me say that, that’s not random happening, from that day I new their always right beside us, and I will see him again some day, for sure!

This is so intriguing, Linda! I love all your stories and videos, and that voice capture is ... well, eerily scary! I do recall one of your earliest videos of your new home at Sugarwood when you were out walking with Willow (and possibly, Ben, I'm not sure), and Willow stopped and stared for a couple of minutes at one thing in the woods. I was fascinated by that and wondered what she saw then! In fact, I even commented on it, and you replied that you wondered too! Fascinating stuff. Thanks so much!

Oh my. I think sometimes these visitors come to those who are most receptive..
I’ve had many encounters, drawers opening by themselves, cupboards opening and contents coming out. I’ve felt weight sitting on my bed, and my animals are always looking at things I can’t see. A tv turns on by itself, to no channel, but snow.
My old home in upstate NY we learned had a church next door. All of us experienced a sense - and that was before we learned of the old church.
I frequently smell my mother and my grandmother.
I’ve experienced much more, and I find it fascinating, and I welcome all visitors, and they know it.
    Thanks for sharing!

I had fire alarms go off in my last house whenever the humidity was high in the summer . Our first house has constant activity, footsteps, light switches on/ off , banging from outside against the house waking me up. Wonderful footage you caught!

Great video 👌🏻 I believe too and your stories really resonated with me. We've had similar if not the same experiences, all with a "friendly" presence. Thanks for sharing ❤

I too, have had things that I could not explain happen in my 114 year old house. Some unhappiness lifted when we asked the presence to go to the light, that didn’t work, but when we said you are free, there was a wind inside the closed house. The feeling in the house became lighter. Our house was built where the slave quarters were on the hemp plantation.
