- Here is another edition of what's happening during our 1790 home remodel along with some shopping and thrift store / consignment store finds.
Linda you will never guess what Sugarwood just whispered to me. She wants to thank you for restoring some of her past. The door has her purring with contentment. Keep up the good work, you are a joy to watch as you create.
It is not being restored, it is being remodeled. There is a huge difference.

Absolutely love the idea of the hidden cabinet in lieu of a lazy susan. Paranormal activity, ghosts & voices! Cannot wait to see that. 😃

The spice door has character, it doesn't need to be painted, just a crystal knob.

I love the antique door!! Who wants to look at a bunch of bottles, jars and clutter? The door is a beautiful solution to that. It lends lovely character to the pantry. Everything is so exciting. I know this is an older video, but its nice to see how it all came together. I love all the awesome finds you found. It is now June but driving down the road seeing all the snow, it is so pretty. BEAR!!! Be careful being outside with your fur baby.
I think your door in the butler’s pantry is a brilliant idea. I can see the shelves inside full of spices and triomphe jars etc - all lined up without having to scrabble around in a deep cupboard. Brilliant!
I adapted three beautiful old doors as the doors to a built in wardrobe in one of my bedrooms and I love them.

Can't wait for your ghost story... I have a ghost here in my cabin... It shows up several times a week.. I think it is interesting .. the cabin was built in 1993 and has had several renters before I bought it.. I have spoken to one person and I know another renter was an artist.....Bring it on ....I am really interested...

Love that corner "hidden" cabinet. Lazy Susans never work and that area seems always difficult to keep clean. Very clever!

Linda, that needlepoint ivy is the easiest thing to grow. Just don’t overwater and place in a bright place. You found great things today. Everything is looking beautiful
I think the chandelier would be beautiful over the sink if it doesn’t work in the pantry

My mom used to order hot tea and it would come in those small silver pots you found. Makes me think of her ❤. Your kitchen is looking so beautiful.
I was wondering if they might be single serve tea pots. I was served tea in something like them before, but they were more decorative. I’m going to do a little more research since I know the brand and see if their website shows them 🤞🏻

Hello Linda! Love the toile wallpaper everything is looking nice. The snow is so beautiful looking out of th e Windows. I love going to home depot and lowes which is a past time favorite my Father and I used to do together. I still go because we normally can find something that's needed or on sale. My husband says they created these stores for women to update everything in the house. Lol
Yes I would pay a few more dollars for an item to be shipped from either U.K. or Europe. The quality is so much better than the junk that's imported here. I love all your findings you bought. Hopefully I will be able to find some amazing items in thrift stores here. Thanks for sharing your Awesome videos with all the nuggets of information!
Your new kitchen is going to look absolutely incredible when you finish. I like the old door in the butlers pantry-it adds character and interest. Your newly purchased chandelier is going to look fabulous in the pantry or over your sink. The blue "pitcher" you purchased is a batter bowl ie pancake batter etc. Batter bowls are so handy. I cannot get over how much snow you have!!! Here in Michigan we got a dusting on Friday and it is now gone! Such an unusual winter. We received 3 inches in December and have had mostly bare ground so far this winter. Love your thrifting videos. Can hardly wait until the next one!

They have such great metallic spray paint for all surfaces now. If you think the one in bronze would work, just spray paint it. The colors are great now and paint is durable 20:59

Antique Shops, Hardware Stores, Hole in the wall Diners, Consignment Shops and Farmers Markets are a few of my favorite things
I had the same idea as your lazy Linda in a previous house when I did a major kitchen remodel. I used the cabinet to store my Christmas baking and kitchen decor. Worked great because I only needed to access once a year.

Everything looks great so far! The cabinet color looks so creamy and pretty. I love the window benches and the Lazy Linda! I didn't read the other comments to see if this was suggested, but you could rub-n-buff the light fixture you liked from the hardware store for the butler's pantry. I would put the other chandelier out in the open to be seen. I understand the spice closet and think it is a great idea. The pocket watch napkin rings are so charming. I would prop one upright on a shelf or table vignette as decor .I love the little silver vase with the flower frog top. Your videos are my favorite and am always excited when a new one pops up and to see the new updates. p.s. the drive with the snow flocked trees was beautiful!

Those wine cups are perfect for the tavern 🙌 also the light that you liked at the hardware store if you really want it you can paint it silver I've done that before it was for an out side light but it worked just fine....I liked that light it would look nice.

Hi Linda… everything looks beautiful. I was so surprised when I saw the clock napkin rings. I have 8 of them, and I’ve had them at least 20 years. They go with any meal, you’ll use them often.
To my surprise, I think I might have sold them. At what point should I kick myself? 😩😆

We had an early dinner this evening and were talking about your kitchen and all of the snow, “up there”. Maybe your ears were being tickled because you posted at that same time. Even my 29 year old son enjoys your videos. He was visiting for the day and asked, “How is Linda’s kitchen coming along?” So we watched. Cracked up about the Lazy Linda cabinet, and think that it was very clever. Going to be so lovely when finished.

Love the door in the butlers pantry. I think it is an awesome idea. Open the door and there is all your spices etc. When the whole room is finished and with all those windows and the fireplace it will be beautiful. I can see it now with all the sunlight coming through those windows. Just beautiful.
Now we just need some Sun which we have not seen for days!

I am loving the remodeling, I am finely getting my small kitchen done after 43 years with the same cabinets. I am lucky enough to have 2 daughters in the design and remodeling fields. I have gotten many ideas from your kitchen and really look forward to your next video.

Like the chandelier over the sink idea…. Not too big!! Adds a little drama
I think this is the first time the kitchen feels like Linda’s touch has arrived again! Just so warm and cozy seeing the pretty cabinets and lighting installed and feeling reminiscent of the Groton house. So comforting!
I adore the toile wallpaper and the new silver and white dishware finds which are all my favorites as well. That faucet is perfect for the butler’s pantry. It looks like it was meant to be there! Can’t wait to see the knobs and pulls too. Maybe you can show us how to install them. Those mugs are lovely and worth the price.
The hidden panel and touch door on the peninsula with access to the breakfast area is such a nicely executed idea. I am glad you decided on keeping the continuity of the beadboard running throughout the kitchen, butler’s pantry and breakfast area. It’s perfect! I love architectural details like the window seats which will add softness and a comity spot near the fireplace, especially on snowy days. It’s all going to be just gorgeous! Your craftsmen are very talented which makes a big difference on a project. So excited for you and the family! Thank you for bringing us on your journey. :-)

Dear Linda, Way to go girl...stand your ground !!! (Butlers pantry door). I renovated my bathroom for my retirement gift to myself. My contractor began to argue about some of my design ideas...we came to an understanding!!! Copper pan sink, weathered siding and upside down lighting, I love how it turned out. As you will, once the convenience of all that storage is realized. I make the decor rules as I go and I thoroughly enjoy being in my home. Hugs 💞

No, I would not pay the extra $5.00, this is price gauging from the shipping companies. I would see if someone in the US would want to make something similar. I woud also strongly complain to the shipping companies. Gas prices have come down, there is no excuse to have high shipping. I stopped buying all of my itmes from Europe because of the shipping.
