The biggest issue is still the exit of the track. the traffic jam is insane and it makes no sense to drive through the parking area! Even if it's calm to get on track; it's almost always an issue to get off track. It's also rather bad for the car if you need to go directly in stop-start-stop traffic straight after a lap. The brakes, the engine..they are all so hot. Me personally I almost overheated my clutch (manual) last weekend because of the long queue straight after a lap. So Nürburgring if you ask more money; great...but fix this exit problem in return!
If they make the exit more efficient, everyone will get back on track faster and it will be one long traffic jam. No, the problem is opening times. There is too much demand. They need to have the track open longer, maybe even 24h, on weekends, and all day on weekdays. This way traffic will have the chance to distribute itself over larger timespans, and waiting in line at track exit will occur less often.
They could bring back the "half season card", or a 50 laps card or something similar, so you get a discount per lap, but the total is a bit more acceptable to pay for at once.
Totally, they are just using modern tricks to sell more, making more Umsatz. Its like saying, hey if you buy a one year cinema ticket, you get a 10% discount at our cinema pizzeria. In the and they make you believe you save money, but actually you spend even more and they even make more money in the pizzeria.
Regarding the pothole parking at brünnchen; The problem with putting some new gravel there is that, as soon as the first snow falls, everyone goes in FULL DRIFT MODE and all the work will be undone in 15 minutes.
It really depends how you look at this. If you are an average person making average wages, such high increase might make it impossible for you to buy the season ticket. If you already have money for a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, then probably this increase doesn't matter to you at all. Of course, driving the Nordschleife is expensive, but do we want to make it harder for people to get in, making it only a hobby for the super rich, or, do we want to make it possible for regular people to drive on the ring as well? I'm always leaning towards the average people's side. The total costs are quite high already, why make it even higher with such high increase? The benefits are nice, but they don't really offset the costs at all. E.g. could I get cheaper accommodation, food, gas, etc.?
It’s easy: everybody’s talking about it as if the Nürburgring would be interested in making people happy. They just want to make money. They’ve seen massive traffic jams throughout the whole season so the demand is high and they’re able to raise the price. Then they don’t spend any money on shit they don’t HAVE TO spend money on to keep the operation running, because they don’t need to. They do the absolute minimum to get the absolute maximum of money. From a business perspective it seems to be a good decision.
I hear you and I agree, you get my vote from th GT3 RS camp too. And believe me it matters to everyone. I am not buying a season pass this time. I would also better go with some 50 laps or 100 laps improved priced package. Season is out for me.
Strange to say but in America it is like $500 US dollars to drive on a track like Circut of The Americas for 4 or 5 laps. The prices seem somewhat reasonable. As driving on Nurburgring Ring get more popular they will piss people off and have longer schedule. Answer is… raise prices on people and make more money. There is a limited amount of people you can have. 😇
i do understand the point about lots of people doing over 200 laps on a season ticket. but in the last season, it was actually not that easy to get more then 10 laps a day in because of the traffic jams and all the accidents, yellows and closures on busy days. im sure there are many people who wouldve considered a season ticket (like myself) but i only can afford like maybe 4-6 weekend trips a year and i wouldnt get to the brake even point with those. now that a lap is 35€ i defenetly will drive less laps and therefore would get even further away from the b.e. point. im just a regular working guy so for me 250€ per month for a Nürburgring season is quite a lot of money. the nice little discounts arent too bad but honestly many people probably have allready done the things they offer or are not interested since there are so many different options there outside of Nürburgring official sources. (like Restaurants, hotels, Bars) the 10% on most of these things arent gonna win anyone over. the wealthier people wont care, they will get thier season ticket but i think a lot of average guys will not pay that much and they will cut down thier Nürburgring time for the year. i know i have to anyhow.
Thats the point. Selling it to rich people, which leads to less average poeple, which leads to less trafic, which leads to more fun for the rich people, which leads to more profit, nicer cars and less work. It is like selling watches. You can sell 1000 watches for 99$ or just sell one "Rolex" to a rich guy for 500.000$. They want us regulars to be on the spectator side. There is no other way to put this.
@@m0LN4r I don't live on the correct side of the globe to take advantage of such a cheap and available resource as the ring. After 6years there's a 16%(2.6%/yr) increase on a lap and 36%(6%/yr) increase on a season pass that it sounds like plenty of people where getting well more than their moneys worth from. Considering the costs associated with running a car will easily dwarf the season pass seems like a small price bump to me. Track time over here is much more expensive and much less available. If you where getting in the needed laps before all the season pass guys have any grounds to complain about is the regular cost increase being 1/3 the percentage. I assume this place costs money to operate this jump seems like an attempt for operators to close the gap on the guys getting well more than the break even laps. how much this may or may not unfairly tax season pass holders doing less to make up for those doing 500+laps(costs to under $6/lap then btw) is debatable. In the end the per lap price increase is far less than inflation was here for the last year let alone 6. If the new season pass price now doesn't work for you since you where barely doing enough laps to justify it simply don't buy it. Also to yer "keep the regulars on the spectator side" theory. Have you considered maybe they're just trying to get everyone to do less laps, to reduce the traffic problem? If anything these rate changes seem to favor the less wealthy person who couldn't justify a season pass to begin with as their rate increase was smaller.
If they fix the TF carpark exit situation then it's worth it. I think the timing of early January for the discount is the worst bit. Side note: the level of fuckery on Sunday just gone with people parking wherever they wanted at TF carpark causing chaos back onto the track was insane. Come on people. Be better.
@@csllover Seemed like there weren't enough carpark marshals to move people on, so cars were stopping wherever they wanted for a chat with friends, like literally at the motorbike spaces at times. Double parking waiting for spaces to free up. So the obvious knock on was the wait time to get off the track was longer and longer. Never seen it so bad.
Nürburgring doesn't have true competition so the fact that they don't hike prices more in this monopoly situation is actually pretty nice. It would be nice to have cheaper prices that that's not required. The only issue I have is only having the option to get a single lap ticket vs full season pass. How about single weekend unlimited laps pass or single week unlimited laps pass?
It is all or nothing. Here you have a PS5 Bundle with 3 Controllers and 3 Games you already have and don not need for 1000€ - but you have no other choice to buy it. What do yo do. You buy it. Modern money making tricks.
I don't buy it. The PS5 at least. Nothing against marketing but if you exceed my attention span i wont listen and buy anymore. Sadly enough people stop listening and still buy...
Come to australia its close to $400.00 for just a few laps on a pothole ridden track (sydney motorsport park) with police on the entry and exit waiting to book you for so called defects. I would retrospectively love to pay 3k Euros for a world class track such as the Nordschliefe regardless of the issues.
I‘m doing approx. 30 laps per year. Doesn‘t really matter to me. Even if I wanted to spend the 2,5 or 3k, I would not find the time to amortise. What really pisses me off is the exit situation.
The economy of local ski resorts can work here too) The bottom line is that from a certain number of people, queues for the lift begin to accumulate, the skiing time decreases, etc., etc.. How is the situation with leaving the track, for example. And the resolution of these problems requires serious investments with a long payback period - the construction of new lifts or the modernization of existing ones. BUT! If you raise prices, then nothing will change financially for the resort, but for consumers (due to a decrease in the number of visitors), you will get the impression that the price increase has led to a decrease in queues for improving overall service)) This is how customer focus improves without changing anything globally) Of course, the general increase in prices for fuel and auto components will lead to an increase in the average ticket for visiting the track even without a ticket.
What if you (like in the pandemic) do lapticket-checks at the roundabout entrence to the DD carpark and the only way to get on it is after you did a lap. Then you convert the secound entry lane that goes right „behind“ DD to an exit lane directly off the track and you install a laserbarrier for counting the cars on the carpark, if its full you use a redlight to close the carpark and move all cars straight ahead out through the exit.(there is allways a marshall there anyway who could enforce this) then noone can go 100 times around devilsdiner and block the traffic coming off the track. I think this would be a quick temporary solution to get the queue down atleast a bit. Only downside to the current way is that the taxis woud have to do a lap of the roundabout🤓
In my opinion the most important thing is to fix the track exit situation. Maybe go back to the way it was in 2020 during corona, where the parking place at devils diner was completly closed and traffic from the track had directly go to the public road.
The breakeven is a bit higher. If you buy the credit for the laps in badges of 500€ you get a 20% bonus. For the 3000€ ticket you would get 3600€ in credit and then its 120 laps weekdays and 103 on the weekend.
I don’t like the increase and I really did not like the whole traffic-situation this year, but in the end I’m going to get a JK again next season…all in all it’s still worth it - especially if you do a couple of hundred laps. But even if you‘re only doing 70-80 laps I’d say it’s worth it! In my first JK-season I did 70 laps…so one could say it would have been smarter to pay for each lap, but it’s the other way around! With a JK you’re just way more relaxed. If there’s yellow, you don’t care that much…if someone refuses to let you pass, it’s okay. With a JK you don’t think „I wanna get the most out of the 30 bucks I paid for this lap“. So to me it’s quite clear that I’m gonna buy it…even if I’m not sure if I’ll do over 100 laps next season or not. It just feels better.
The problem is not 5€/lap or 500€/year. In a more or less standard track car (eg M3) one lap was last years around 100€ (all costs inkluded except depreciation). Next year it will be around 125€ due to increased prices everywhere. Plus accomodiation plus food, beverages etc. A full weekend with lets say 30 laps will decrease your wallet by around 5k€. Yes, I still love it and will come back, but maybe not that often.
As I recall, when I was there 1962-65, a single lap was 1DM (about 25 cents). A 10 lap ticket was slightly discounted, as I was stationed nearby, I ran around a hundred laps. What a thrill! At the speed of a 1962 beetle, it was easy to learn the circuit. Those were the good old days :)
From a marshals standpoint LED flag panels would be awesome! There are posts (like 157, Wippermann entry) that drivers almost never recognize, even if its the green flag at the END OF CODE 60! Drivers are extremely slow and looking for nothing but the green flag. But I fully understand the cost involved in that makes it close to impossible. Even for events like the DTM on the "small" GP circuit, the race series brings light panels for the track (at least Im quite sure, also why would they dismantle them after races if it was Nürburgring equipment. That doesnt even include the massive amount of wiring required. Very good and informative content as always.
For lots of us, its losing the precious time you have when you hop over for a weekend. This year ive done the least amount of laps ever because i didn't want to sit in a trafficjam for 30 minutes. There is also action needed at the ED gasstation. "Carspotters" and other individuals keep making people doing silly stuff and its just a deadly accident waiting to happen.
@@BorisvonMorgenstern no dude im talking about the real tourists, the guys with normal cars. people complain about a lap being 25-30 already for one lap, nobody wants to do it, its just the maniacs who do it over and over again cause they cant help it
Benefits is just an other word for, make more profit. The benefits are not Free, you pay for them with the higher price, but if you don´t need any of the benefits, then u are just screwed. I bought a NB GP Track ticker, just to wait 90 Minutes in line and did not drive at all at the end and I did not get my money back... There were sold too much tickets, than the Time and Track could handle. The same goes for the NOS. Sometimes there is so much traffic, obviously they let too much cars on, to maximise profit, but it is like driving in sunday traffic for 30€. It needs to be much much better organised. And the exiting line, OMG. With overheated car, waiting 15 minutes in line. The owner (2/3) is a Billionaire!
And unless you're driving an extremely light and cheap car, the cost of the lap ticket pales in comparison to the actual overall cost of doing a lap in terms of consumables and wear & tear.
I may be ignorant saying this, but if I lived near the Nurburgring I would buy a season pass every year regardless of the price and dedicate lots more money into building a track-purposed car from all of my favorite brands. I believe my life would feel very fulfilled
Surely the only thing that matters is whether you're going to do 100 laps? If you are, then it's worth it, if you aren't then it might be worth it depending on the benefits.
Misha ,What is the real cost of a crash ? Recovery and repair of crash barriers and track cleanup? Would better run off areas in the common crash corners help to reduce stoppages. Some decent paid spectator seating could possibly help the round track viewing areas.
Everybody know the Situation. Track is closed than space and streets are overcrowded. So you cant drive even you have a Season Card. So you have paid but cant make your rides.
If you only get once a year for a weekend like I do the most frustrating issue is getting off the track as time is precious. As regards the price increase if you book flights, airport hire car, accommodation ring rental and do 20 laps over 2 days its only and extra 100 euro. Still well worth the money
Some interesting points about improvements but whoever is worried about that price probably should invest in SIM. Because that ticket will be the smallest expense you will have in the whole year of tracking any car .
Well, as many before I wish another exit on Döttinger Höhe. Pricing is OK-ish. 2,5k or 3k when buying later is a bit weird imho. Everything is relative. Considering all costs around tracking, costs for track are "cheap"
I like the idea of SeasonCard days but there should DEFINITELY be days where track builds aren’t allowed during TF. I’ve talked to a lot of people who always dreamt of driving the Nordschleife but the amount of people who drive like it’s a 24h race scares them. I love the Ring with all my heart but TF is looking more and more like track days and that isn’t the point of TF.
I think that the focus point is not really about those people who can afford to drive 200-300 laps or more a year on 50k€+ cars. Of course for them there is no difference at all. The focus point of the problem is completely about all the locals, the wide majority of them non indigenous, who aims to drive around 100-150 laps a year in little cars making life compromises to be able to reach that amount of driving (that is kinda the minimum amount one should drive to make it worth living around the track since otherwise there isn't anything really interesting around here). All those people will never get back the 800€ through the benefits because they already must not spend that money in order to lap the Nordschleife as much as they want. For all those people it's only a disadvantage. And as pointed out by others the safety measures are not yet adequate to the traffic and speed of average TF days, with deadly consequences sometimes, with missing yellow flags even minutes after a pile up in an area where a warning panel and camera were already present (so a safety system could be even fully automatized using "modern" technology).
To be fair it’s „just“ 300 more than last year if you order before January 10th… but I completely agree. I’m fine with the increase if they fix some issues…
10:50 slight counterpoint, many Dutch highways have matrix signs every couple 100m that are used to display temporary speed limits or closed lanes. And that is usually on bits were the speed limit is only 100km/h.
It's cheap at 3k ! If I lived in that area I'd pay it - Unlimited access !! Just go when you feel like it. For a track day here it's 6-700 euro for 4 hrs !! And that's a track at about 2km max .I'd look sweet rocking up to Mondello tomorrow and expecting to get on. 35 per lap is very reasonable! I know 3k is a fair wadge to hand out but you will definitely make use of it !
If ! you lived there. But not much people actually live there. I need to fill up my car 3 times to just get there and back pay for a Motel etc. and that how it is for most poeple. Except for the rich guys it really does not matter at all. With a 3000€ Ticket you do not even get an asphalt parking spot. You get dusty gravel parking, not even a shade anywhere.
Those benefits are fine (not good or great) for those who are actually interested in using them, which most will not be. The lack of improvements is a valid concern. For those not going for a jahreskarte, and have jobs that only allow them to go on weekends, the price increase is also pretty drastic. If I was going to do 10 laps per weekend, a weekend now costs me 50 euros more. If I can go 10 weekends a year, that's 500euros per year, which with old pricing would have gotten me 16 laps more, which could have been two more weekends.
as an outsider, I think if they are using the revenue from the increased prices to make the ring a safer and more enjoyable experience, its well worth it. Like you said, its still affordable compared to traditional track days. However, if they jack up the prices, the experience doesn't change, and they start posting record profits, then, like every other company these days, itll be sad to see.
The price of the season ticket isn't unreasonable - but it's irrelevant for many if not most in that we are not insured. And this is largely due to Nurburgring legacy 'crash' prices from way back in the 2000's-2010, and then the great Phlanzgarten 3 crash of 2010 after which UK insurance companies banned it completely, and over time so many other countries have followed suit. So all that remains are the trackdays for many of us where our medical liability is at least covered and the local road laws do not apply. The infrastructure of the TF car park has been overwhelmed for years now, but at least we have a rollercoaster.
We need a bunch of "They are a private company and can do whatever they want - even though it is not true" mouthbreathers in the comment section. 😂😘 @0:55 Exactly, you can drive like a real man on a real race track with a real car. What is not to like about it? 😉
so if you went under the week the season card payed off at 88 laps and on weekends at 73 laps. now its 83 under the week and 71 on weekends if you get the card in time, if not, its 100 laps under the week and 86 on weekends
A 5 euro increase from 25 to 30 euros is just keeping up with inflation though, whereas the 5 euro increase from 30 to 35 is not keeping up. Not sure that that's worth complaining about.
I live in missouri here in the us and we recently got an amazing 3.9 mile track built near osage beach, one of the best tracks i’ve seen in person and just an hour & a half from me
There should be 2 tier pricing, 1 price for under 300 laps and a 2nd price for over 300 laps because most people won't do 300 laps but want the freedom to come and drive whenever they want.
For those of us who couldn't do the Jk, the increase in cost per lap just means either to do less laps or find cost savings elsewhere, I know the food is nice but perhaps cutting down this helps offset, just like everything got to work with the budget we have. I just hope as you say some of the increase goes to improvements and it isn't just putting a gap between the haves and have nots.
it may be considered as a high cost but for most have access to the track for relativly low travel costs. for me to experience the ring from australia will cost 3k euro that at least in travel.
In 2019, i did 1 trackday (skylimit) for something like 700€ trackday fee. On this they i did ca. 28 Laps. with the travel to the ring an back (250 km one way) i totally used like 6 tanks of fuel (6x55 Liter Ultimate 102, 6x 80€= 240€. I used 1 set of brake pads front ~ 200€. I used 1/4 a set of 265/35R18 AR1 - 200€. Hotel 1 night: 120€. Quick Math.: 1500€. One day cost half the cost of a season ticket. The season ticket is still a good deal.
First world problems 🤣Anyone doing enough laps yearly at the Nur to consider one of these passes is obviously not driving a 50hp, 2k euro car (maybe with the exception of a handful of dudes with a great sense of humour - those guys should get special discounts, like the Saxo guy and similar cases -). Their yearly fuel bills - and general maintenance - even aside from Nur laps must be quite sobering and while 2 - 3k euro is no joke, it sounds intelligently priced. My only qualms would be the profit to investment ratio. If they're making a killing and investing the strict minimum while more and more users are there, then debate could be a healthy thing going forward. With things the way they are though, more and more people are getting kicked out of the fun car club anyway and this will be purely elitist in a matter of a few years so it's really no biggie and is of concern to very few people in the grand scheme of things. Those who can't afford it will do what they have always done, find a quiet road and have a bit of fun without going warp speed at the car's very limits. No harm, much less cost. They can always do the occasional Nur lap here and there and join clubs to have the occasional laps at their local tracks. Nur season pass holders should get quite a few days to themselves though, nicely spread out throughout the year to give everyone a chance to be free for those days and enjoy more laps with more mindful, experienced drivers. Too many blockers and aloof drivers on public days, not cool at all for those who spend so much paying in advance for a pass... My 25 cents 🙂
learned more & more about less & less so now I know everything about nothing... And Misha did a Great job explaining simply prices went Up a lot but still cheap if you buy Season Ticket and use the track a lot. And everyone be prepared to cooL off your car on track before getting stuck in traffic exiting
Good points and well said, I am pretty sure that having days for season card holders isn't going to happen as the Nürburgring have always endorsed the tourist driver and that its for everyone. You are talking about people that are doing 300/500 laps in a McLaren paying peanuts for them and getting private track time. If they start that it goes against most of what they have stood behind the last years.
Seems to me like the benefits for the Season Pass outway the added costs in the current market. BUT! They should fix the problems with the track that you mentioned. Besides this, the benefits are huge, the question ist do you use them and will you spend enought time at the Ring to get to almost or above 100laps at the track. Not for me but it's seems ok to me! No unheard of...
The price going up isn't ideal; but the price increase is pretty much inline with all of the other madness going on, and as you say track access isn't the largest line item on a lap and when you are doing 500 laps on a season ticket at 3k, that's 6 euros per lap for access. After watching a number of cars you've driven basically cook themselves while waiting to leave is likely to either damage cars or cause track problems - access should be a much larger consideration than it currently is for TF, especially as that is likely one of the biggest day to day usages. I really hope the increased price is reflected in the quality of track and amenities surrounding it.
Some great points on that Instagram post, for me its mostly about the exit chaos. especially when there is a closure. You get people stopping on the roundabout which doesn't help the situation but i am sure the track can work with local government to put in place clear plans on what to do when traffic gets to a certain level.
For the lack of a better phrase, "God bless you" for bringing reason and a rational approach to the internet. 🤣. Keep up the good work Misha, all the best.
You mentioned at least twice that with the season ticket you have *unlimited* driving. That might be misleading to some viewers. It's "only" unlimited while TF. What about the TF amount in 2023? Increase or decrease? I guess the track gets more and more busy by e.g. industry pool etc. What about goodies for season ticket owners such as full lap (with GP track) events?
A lot of JK owners drive high end cars that pay almost 3000 euro for one set of tyres or the locals that do 2-300 laps each year, they will still buy the JK no problem. The DH exit should be fixed asap, at least when it's busy get everybody directed to the roundabout and further away maybe with an extra exit. It's pointless letting them on the current size of parking that's full already and then create massive traffic jams.
Misha you are the reason why I want to go to the Nürburgring, and some day I will go, and drive like 12 laps, but in my opinion 35 euros per lap, is to much money, the trip to the Nürburgring is so expensive that many people dont go because of the money and in my case, I am so afraid to crach the car, but my problem is not the car is the money to fix lets say the berrier, our towing truck, is just not cool !
Smarts the worst change to driving in the uk. Years and years of delays installing the crap and now getting past lane hoggers becomes a criminal offense because of all the speed cameras.
I understand that the price increase upsets people, but if you have the privilege to live close to the track and to drive it on a daily (or even weekly) basis you should be thankful for that. A publicly accessible track is something that exists in very few places and most of the time its in track day form, so its less casual and accessible to most people. Also maintaining a track is incredibly expensive and with energy prices increasing by a large percentage it makes that even more expensive. I hope to one day have the privilege to drive the track frequently :)
I don't understand why people like Nürburgring, so many videos shows too much traffic in the truck, and huge HP differences, you can not "explode" your limits, because you are to worry see behind of you. I hope someone explain why running in Nürburgring is so fun (by the way, really expensive if you dont live close to the truck)
Why not just offer both? You can make the personalized aspect a thing for both but atleast let people choose whether or not to have access to al these benefits. As i know a lot of people come soaly for the driving.
Maybe they are trying to trim down the amount of people regularly using the track such as yourself. You commented many times in your videos how bad traffic to and from track was. It is also a lot of money for Apex to recover in taxi laps never mind the other overheads Apex have running the company and cars. Nicely balanced vlog outlining the pros and cons Greg 🇬🇧🚘🏁
It is still not a lot of money to have access to a circuit for a season for 3000 - track day access is not part of the Geneve human rights convention. Not yet at least - it should be of course.
To be honest i would expect more.. If someone can have 500 laps... that means 10000 km !! (equivalent to 1000-3000 lt of fuel... ((up to 5000 euros fuels depending on the car!) + tires + servicing + a lot more.... IF you are driving 911GT3 would cost a lot per year for 10000!! IF this amount goes to improving the circuit + security in case of accident it fine..
Anyone else reading all these comments and crying on the inside because you'll NEVER get to drive even one lap on a track you've watched hundreds of laps on?
Hi misha ...it's quite an increase,...but I'm sure costs for keeping Ring open are high also,...just hope it's not counter productive, for all sides,....love what you're doing for the Ring,....nobody can't say you haven't done your best for the nuerburgring..... 💕 🖐 🌵
I think the pricing for what you get is actually fair. The only problem i have is that it only really benefits people that can go to the ring quite often and use all the stuff you mentioned. I won't use most of it and prefer to tip at a diner then to ask for a discount. The offer is great, i just wish there was a week or weekend card (3 days), a 10 or 30 day unlimited or monthly option for driving only available. I can only manage to visit the Ring a view long weekends a year. So i can't get much use out of a season pass, but i don't mind the single lap price too much either. I just want the convenience and having a collectable like a card is nice too. I really liked the concept at Rock am Ring, Rock im Park where you bought a wristband with money on it and could pay everything. Having a card for let's say 1k i can use for 20 to 30 labs and use as cash around the Ring would be a nice compromise between pure driving and fully socialize around the Ring. The App and user accounts are a good step and let you do most of what i mentioned already, but this might be helpfull. It would also be nice if you could register a day in the sense that i suggest or tell the App/Ring when i will be at the Ring and it roughly tells me how many people will be there. Distributing people will help but not solve the exit problem. This might also help organizing season pass only, oldtimer, fast car events where you give certain target groups a much better experience.
Knowing and having no first hand knowledge, it would seem that the Nürburgring should look at ski lift / resorts and how they price. Seems a similar, occasional vs hard core. A question for Misha: How many laps did you do this past year? Are you average for the local hard core drivers?
Well, now that you're asking: I'm upset about the rising prices, yes. And, now that you're asking, I will not buy a season-ticket next year. But to be honest, I have to admit, I would not have bought it anyway, even if it was half price compared to last year. I think, those, who complain the most, are also those, who do not buy it next year, and didn't last year. But next, I won't be watching the FIFA World Cup this year, for all the recently published reasons why to do so. No big deal to me either, haven't watched any since 1972...
You know this! My Yamaha R1 nearly overheated cus of this.
@@theprinceofbabylonia I just filter through traffic with my R6 because of this!
@@theprinceofbabylonia surely you'd just filter?
If they make the exit more efficient, everyone will get back on track faster and it will be one long traffic jam.
No, the problem is opening times. There is too much demand. They need to have the track open longer, maybe even 24h, on weekends, and all day on weekdays. This way traffic will have the chance to distribute itself over larger timespans, and waiting in line at track exit will occur less often.
thats why they increased to have less cars there, problem solved 😛
They could bring back the "half season card", or a 50 laps card or something similar, so you get a discount per lap, but the total is a bit more acceptable to pay for at once.
Totally, they are just using modern tricks to sell more, making more Umsatz. Its like saying, hey if you buy a one year cinema ticket, you get a 10% discount at our cinema pizzeria. In the and they make you believe you save money, but actually you spend even more and they even make more money in the pizzeria.
You have that actually: when you buy a lot of "Green Hell Credit" at once, you get some Credit on top.
Regarding the pothole parking at brünnchen; The problem with putting some new gravel there is that, as soon as the first snow falls, everyone goes in FULL DRIFT MODE and all the work will be undone in 15 minutes.
Not only with snow.. it will become a saturday night takeover spot
Asphalt it is.
@@toyorosso_sw2074 I don't see how it would differ from the current situation?
Just close it in winter or when track is closed during night etc
This problem could be solved with gates which are closed when the track is closed.
@@trollingmopho this. Making money is all that's cared about. If they keep the average people out, the money is still going to be made.
Exactly, supply & demand
i do understand the point about lots of people doing over 200 laps on a season ticket.
but in the last season, it was actually not that easy to get more then 10 laps a day in because of the traffic jams and all the accidents, yellows and closures on busy days.
im sure there are many people who wouldve considered a season ticket (like myself) but i only can afford like maybe 4-6 weekend trips a year and i wouldnt get to the brake even point with those.
now that a lap is 35€ i defenetly will drive less laps and therefore would get even further away from the b.e. point. im just a regular working guy so for me 250€ per month for a Nürburgring season is quite a lot of money.
the nice little discounts arent too bad but honestly many people probably have allready done the things they offer or are not interested since there are so many different options there outside of Nürburgring official sources.
@@chublez One correction, the Touristsen Fahrten on the NOS are not Track, its Tourists driving, but people use it as such, which is not correct.
If they fix the TF carpark exit situation then it's worth it. I think the timing of early January for the discount is the worst bit. Side note: the level of fuckery on Sunday just gone with people parking wherever they wanted at TF carpark causing chaos back onto the track was insane. Come on people. Be better.
What happened with the parking?
@@csllover Seemed like there weren't enough carpark marshals to move people on, so cars were stopping wherever they wanted for a chat with friends, like literally at the motorbike spaces at times. Double parking waiting for spaces to free up. So the obvious knock on was the wait time to get off the track was longer and longer. Never seen it so bad.
@@iamthatguy8207 yeah, end of season shenanigans then
It was fucking madness, I was taking a sold car with the customer, no bumps no scratches so I think their still gentleman rules within the choas
The economy of local ski resorts can work here too)
The bottom line is that from a certain number of people, queues for the lift begin to accumulate, the skiing time decreases, etc., etc.. How is the situation with leaving the track, for example. And the resolution of these problems requires serious investments with a long payback period - the construction of new lifts or the modernization of existing ones. BUT! If you raise prices, then nothing will change financially for the resort, but for consumers (due to a decrease in the number of visitors), you will get the impression that the price increase has led to a decrease in queues for improving overall service)) This is how customer focus improves without changing anything globally)
Of course, the general increase in prices for fuel and auto components will lead to an increase in the average ticket for visiting the track even without a ticket.
@hitmeupcolionnoirdmonteleg4775 finally new nicknames make sense
They know this, that's why they raised the prices. :D
Thats exactly it - i also think so. More relaxed driving with the JK
Yes, I still love it and will come back, but maybe not that often.
if you earn money with driving and socialmedia on the nordschleife, you can always say some positive things about this much increasement.
They aren't 'making' people do silly stuff, but they are encouraging it. 😉 The drivers at ED could just say "No, I'm not getting involved".
It's the most unique place in the world if they would ask €50 or 75 euro a lap people would still pay it.

The dedicated member days for season pass holders is a good idea. Those would be really appreciated I think.
Well, as many before I wish another exit on Döttinger Höhe.
Pricing is OK-ish. 2,5k or 3k when buying later is a bit weird imho.
Everything is relative. Considering all costs around tracking, costs for track are "cheap"
Break Even Point is 103 laps, you have to put in the discount when buying GHC. And that's only by calculating with 35€/lap.
Lets do a time based system. Faster you lap, less money you pay.. That would be mayhem.
.. and your lap average must count. Can't have it that some do one 💯 lap to get the discount and drive like Robert thereafter.
They do not want us, average people there on the track, but as spectator and taxi tourists. Thats the math behind it.
That's a steal considering it's $375 a day at my local track.
Great perspective. Thank you Misha.
Club Circuit Mont Tremblant membership here in Quebec, Canada was around $6000 CAD a year five years ago.
It's all relative. A round of golf is £200-£300 at the top courses and membership in the thousands per year.
I would pay DOUBLE that for a Nurburgring in the US!
We need a bunch of "They are a private company and can do whatever they want - even though it is not true" mouthbreathers in the comment section. 😂😘
@0:55 Exactly, you can drive like a real man on a real race track with a real car. What is not to like about it? 😉
Or maybe people who buy season tickets could get free tank of petrol or free meal at diner
so if you went under the week the season card payed off at 88 laps and on weekends at 73 laps. now its 83 under the week and 71 on weekends if you get the card in time, if not, its 100 laps under the week and 86 on weekends
The problem isn't on annual pass but for people going 2 or 3 times per year. The price finally is really higher than previous years.

10% off Pancakes is definitely required. 😂
There should be 2 tier pricing, 1 price for under 300 laps and a 2nd price for over 300 laps because most people won't do 300 laps but want the freedom to come and drive whenever they want.
€3000 is a reasonable amount of money for a season pass to a world renowned race track that is usable for 8-9 months out of the year.
3000 eu is pocket money... A season of riding is the card the most cheap. (tyres, fuel, upgrades that Micha is telling you to buy cost more 😜)
Well said Misha. If I were local to the area, I would definitely budget for a year card.
Buying a season ticket isn’t going to pay for your tyres
And Misha did a Great job explaining
simply prices went Up a lot but still cheap if you buy Season Ticket and use the track a lot.
They just need to add four more lanes going the opposite direction and a warp zone from Tiergarten to Brunchen.
I think they should add a mini version which is 50 laps but only costs 30 laps worth so the less extremely frequent visitor can be satisfied
Misha you are the reason why I want to go to the Nürburgring, and some day I will go, and drive like 12 laps, but in my opinion 35 euros per lap, is to much money, the trip to the Nürburgring is so expensive that many people dont go because of the money and in my case, I am so afraid to crach the car, but my problem is not the car is the money to fix lets say the berrier, our towing truck, is just not cool !
season 2500€/ single 25€= 100 laps
Correction, there are also digital boards on the Autobahn, Germany, Austria, Slovenia etc. and can display simbols and colored text.
Smarts the worst change to driving in the uk. Years and years of delays installing the crap and now getting past lane hoggers becomes a criminal offense because of all the speed cameras.
3000,- for a season ticket is still a steal if you compare it with trackdays that cost anywhere between 500-800 EURO.
i actually assumed it was muchhhh more expensive to do laps on the ring. going to any track where i live costs a fortune.
Why are people complaining about the pricing?
What about Car maintenance, fueling, food, indurance etc?
Damn!
I will stick to my neverbeen sticker and the the rothering or blyton park... absolute bargin😂
Very good explanation of the whole situation.
I wish the price of the Jareskarte was the main thing keeping me from visiting the track more often, instead it's an ocean.
How much revenue does the track make each year from selling laps?
Why not just offer both? You can make the personalized aspect a thing for both but atleast let people choose whether or not to have access to al these benefits. As i know a lot of people come soaly for the driving.
Eh, an extra €5 isn’t too bad, I can live with that.
All I want is for someone in the USA to build a replica of the Nurburgring. There is more than enough land.
It would cost at least 100 million
@@pablopicaro7649 NYC is spending 780 million on an MLS soccer stadium lol
Maybe they are trying to trim down the amount of people regularly using the track such as yourself. You commented many times in your videos how bad traffic to and from track was. It is also a lot of money for Apex to recover in taxi laps never mind the other overheads Apex have running the company and cars. Nicely balanced vlog outlining the pros and cons Greg 🇬🇧🚘🏁
3k is cheap. Maybe they would do weekly for 150-200 would be good for ppl who come for extended weekends from 1000+km away like 2x per year...
It is still not a lot of money to have access to a circuit for a season for 3000 - track day access is not part of the Geneve human rights convention. Not yet at least - it should be of course.
I remember times when a lap was 12€
I bought my first lap for 7€
To be honest i would expect more..
Couldn't afford it before, can afford it less now. I'll keep driving the Nords on Assetto.
Is there some way you can check how many laps that you did on the ring?
Nurburgring should hire Mischa as an employee to help them improve. Mischa ie a good spokesman for the community!
I really hate the Brünnchen parking lot!
You rather need a Land Rover than a sportscar. Very tricky with lowered cars and Semislicks!
The Price spike was actually forseeable.
Germanys Economy is COMPLETLY crashing. they have to take 3000 now , so there will be a ring in the future.
Knowing and having no first hand knowledge, it would seem that the Nürburgring should look at ski lift / resorts and how they price. Seems a similar, occasional vs hard core. A question for Misha: How many laps did you do this past year? Are you average for the local hard core drivers?
A lot of money, yes, but… if you do that many laps on the Ring, you will spend a lot more on tyres, brakes, fuel, maintenance etc.
