Goon one Pete. I’m mowing today in Raleigh for the second time. Bagging cause I’ve got poa seeds popping up despite a double fall pre emergent. Happy spring in NC
Good Morning Pete… I put down my pre-emergent February 8th and going to do my first mow Monday. The weather has been nice here in East Tennessee and my GCI Tall Fescue is looking good… Hope you have a Blessed Day!
SW Ohio here..... great spring weather thus far. I have mowed my backyard 4 times not because it necessarily needs it but, having been a golf course supt. most of my life I do love closely cropped turf. Am planning on using some PGR this spring just for #@$ts and giggles. We used it on our fairways a few seasons back and the difference was dramatic. Look forward to your videos.
So awesome to see you back in the yard. Have a great season and continue to inspire us with motivation, inspiration and spiritual encouragement. Blessings with the new business. 💥💪
I just mowed off the brown tips on my fescue by dropping my mowing height 1 notch and bagged it, now it's mostly all green except a few areas a little slower waking up. Crazy since I used your cool blue and started following you lawn care guide I mowed at least once every month through the winter. All my neighbors yards are still pretty pretty brown cast but mine is crazy green and growing.
Hi Pete, I enjoy watching ur videos. It would be very useful to us if you can add the date and temperature to the videos. It will give us better perspective when we can do the same in our lawns. Thx
Believe he said it was February 18th when he filmed this. They were in the high low to mid 60's that week and lows in the mid 40's. The following week he spoke about they were mid to high 70's for four days. They aren't really dropping below 55 anymore.
I can also say, for me here in Maryland I just mowed for the first time. I usually wait for soil temperatures to spend a few days in a row above 55 degrees. We do have some chilly weather upcoming but in March it won't last more than a few days. Today is 65 for example. Lows in the mid to high 40's. Another way to tell is you'll start to see weeds growing before the grass. If you see any new weed growth, time to mow.
My first spring cut is one notch lower than my last fall cut is it recommended to rake or vacuum the grass to help it stand up prior to mowing in Michigan TTTF/ KBG mix
Starting from scratch on a new construction home, what grass would you recommend for East TN ?? All areas are full sun, no shade.... I've got a Tiller, Soil Pulverizer , Core Arietor & box blade for my Kubota BX23S to help get everything going. Thanks
The Allett with the Rake attachment will do a better job at removing the winter brown, plus it will open the grass up for better air movement and promote a stronger sward this season if you do it now.
Hi Pete, I'm also in NC. RDU area. I use Rye grass seeds during the winter months. I usually cut about every 5 days if we had rain. Otherwise it doesn't grow fast with low temps. I'm tempted to try the Bluegrass, but I normally use tall fescue during the summer.
I threw down starter fertilizer but I kinda want to scalp the yard down to 3/4 an inch. How long should I wait to bag so i don’t get any of my fertilizer?
Hey Pete, I live in NJ. I assume, I should wait to cut the brown off my grass, until the grass in not frozen or so cold. We have had some crazy weather here, 50 one day 25 the next. I'm thinking I should wait until I keep a temp that is consistently warm? Thanks Tim
Hey. You might have mentioned it in some of the conversation that I fast forwarded through, but what were you putting down when you were spraying? Pre-emergent?
Pete I know it's warming up for you now, just curious what the ground temp was back in the middle of Feb for you. Helps me to know when it is go time for as I am north of you. Would you say around 50f or so then give her a chop and a spray? Can't wait for the new calcium, I am on the email list and have my money set aside for some of it! Hope you're well

The last 3 or so minutes of natural sound was heaven.
Happy Saturday Mr Pete ❤
It’s that time of year 🎉

Can't wait for spring to get here and start mowing!! So ready for warmer temps!
Man oh man, there isn’t anything like that first cut of the season!! Almost time here in Kansas City. God bless Pete!

That mower looks pretty sweet!

Looks great! Already mowed once here in Louisville, KY. The GCI TTTF is looking good already!

I did have a very mild winter most of the winter but certainty had some really cold stretches and no snow
What did you end up spraying out the turfware at the end of the video?
Just remember, "mowing is growing." Take care Pete, Bless you and your family.
Thanks for the INFO ... Pete.

This is great feedback

Great information, sir! Thank you for it. 👍
Yeah my lawn in still 80% brown and expecting more snow tomorrow I wont be getting my mower out for a while
Excited for your new preemergent! Curious as to what all it holds!
Not sure if you got a new mic or if it happens to be a day without any wind. But it’s sounding crispy!
Nice job Pete athletic field quality.
Hey Pete did you sharpen your blade with your new system 😁👍
Perfect Thank You!

I have part of my lawn that's growing, and the other part isn't. I really want to cut the tall grass back some, but I don't know what to do.

He just said he’d would be doing it next. He’s probably already done it by the time you commented.

Are you getting the irrigreen running this season?

What mower is that?
Do you think your KBG mix would do well in north GA (Athens area)?
Just the tips

Hi Pete, another season upon us, quick question, up here in Massachusetts, I over seeded with your tttf, when would you suggest 1st clean up mow?
Just curious why straight sand and not 50/50. Great videos.

I suppose that bag on ya mower fills up right quick necessitating many stops to empty it
Do a budget lawn 😁. From buying used mower to fertilizer
Do alley Vs scag 😁
Something doesn't sound right on your mower, Pete. There's a rattle. Hope it's not low on oil or something bad.
I originally thought it was just the echo bouncing off of the shed and into the camera, but when he turns it off it definitely sounds funky.
One more month, and us New Englanders should be at mowing temps.....maybe lol. We never know.
