Hi, great advice and first time I’ve commented, although I have watched every single video you have a made 😳 I’m not sure if it will make any further damage, but your scarifying attachment had 2 springs hanging out… it doesn’t allow photos in the message, but if you pause at about 1:45 you’ll see them both 👍🏻
Thanks for a greatly informative video as always. Question! i recently did a renovation, overseeded then covered with compost. Great results mostly but in places the seed hasnt come through, can i seed over the compost or do i need to scrape it back to get at the soil again?
Nice one Dan, I scarified mine about 1 month ago, now full of weeds in all the gaps so pretty gutted but will just have to sort it out in spring now I guess.
Dan, great work! On the Allett I notice you keep the lawn rake on when scarifying (which I get as takes time to remove), so: -presume you keep the lawn rake at the highest? - are you scarifying on the lowest height on the Allett? Thanks for all the content, videos and humour this year, been great to follow you. 🍾👏
Hi Paul, i have never touched the allett front rake so presume its on its highest, i used to tinker on old machines like back in 2008 when i bought my first one but if you lower just a tad, if you get a undulated lawn one min your mowing then the next your tripping over the mower as it stops dead as the rake has hit a high spot, the scarifying attatchment setting was pretty low, doesnt do anything if leave it high
Top video. What are your thoughts on getting on a lawn when it is frozen and has lots of leaves on it. I have read I shouldn't walk on a frozen lawn but then I shoelace leaves on the lawn. Help. Do I rake or run the mower over?
Well the lawns pretty much frozen in time so the leaves wont have any effect at the moment but everyone knew the weather was coming so why didnt you do the work before it came?
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thanks for the fast response. I have 5 trees in my back garden in the lawn and they have all been dropping leaves every day which I have been raking up. Hi Daniel I really enjoy your videos. Sadly I have been in hospital for a few weeks. I am now back home and leaves have covered half my garden. When I raked them up the grass was dead and mostly soil. What do you advise please? I'm worried that the winter rain will wash away the soil
