If a patient is bad off...the patient will not be at home....they will be in the hospital OR a hospice nurse would be there...and SHE will have her credentials on her car's dash, alerting any parking folks to who the car belongs to. Those people flat out lied to you. They are playing games and are taking up spaces they aren't entitled to. You work enough apartment complexes.....you'll see. Don't let them play you.

I'm a hospice nurse. All you need to do is look in my car to see all the totes and bags with medical supplies and it would be obvious. No home health nurse drives around with an empty car.

I mean I almost got towed from Arby's while eating at Arby's. Tow truck guy said I was there for hours. Camera had me there 9 minutes. They had me hooked up and ready to tow by the time I got my food and still demanded a drop fee that Arbys ended up paying because they have that company patrol their lots. Those places are what make nice tow truck drivers get crap because there is a lot of them in bigger cities.
When I visited Gatlinburg, I spent a few minutes looking for free parking. After the third consecutive paid lot, I paid. I was still nervous that I messed up. Even if I double and triple check my parking, there's still a chance I missed what should have been obvious, and I messed up.
YUP. I figure it's amazing that I've not erred myself into an illegal park. Even if I'm double and triple checking, there's a chance I'll mess up due to simply not seeing something obvious.
Just a note, Jeff, but that cement block wall there in 5 guys. Perfect place for a sign on a pole that they can see . Maybe, flashing lights, high school band, or one of those floppy things with the air blowing it around. They will NEVER see the sign. You and Kristen stay safe out there. Nuts aren't only in trees.
On the question of the health care nurse, I had on once that visited to my home. This situtation was to check up on my wound, change an iv anti-biotic.. anyways the whole thing took no longer than 45 minutes for the homecare nurse. I would believe that nurse visiting parking, but keep an eye on future visits too.
There needs to be a vaccine for "I Didn't See the Sign Syndrome". Dude just hiked 2 miles, up a long hill... impressive for a 76 year young man! I can smell the Beaver Nuggs! I'm not sure where you're from, but lots of places have 2 nurses go out for home visits. It's common to carpool. (PD nurses, ventilator care with RT, obese pts requiring 2 person lift,etc). However, people lie, and I'm not making any excuses for that!
could have been a family member getting paid by the state to "give care." This is common scam that my state allows. So people don't do jack and get paid X amount of $$ for doing nothing. The person "receiving" the "care" is in on the scam and signs off on the paperwork each month/week.
Jeff every nurse knows that you leave a note in the windshield in apartment complex. That is just common sense , also they should leave the apartment number,ber they are at.

When I heard Kristen say, "A Jeep with North Carolina tags...", for a second I had the impulse to take a quick look out in my driveway, and make sure my Jeep Liberty was still there - and that there wasn't a tow truck getting ready to hook onto it. 😆😆

At my old place I got one sticker and a hang tag for visitors, but the visitor tag says on it that it can't be used on the same car more than 2 consecutive nights at a time. People will still play games, but at least that policy helps keep things sane in the tiny visitor parking area they had.

Hey Jeff, I ran tow trucks in the 70s at the south shore of lake Tahoe, the Owners stories have not changed and the situations I watch you guys deal with haven't either. It was the most fun, exciting (sometimes), always something new happening job I have ever done !!!
The absolute incompetence of most of these people blows my mind! I've never been towed, but if so I could find an ATM, and arrange transportation for myself if needed without sounding ignorant.
To be fair, I haven't had cash in hand in 15 years. I literally don't have a bank card (everything is digital, and I pay with CCs since they offer more legal protection) and don't know my PIN to withdraw cash on my CC. I would be SOL if I had to pay cash for anything. I do, however, see why they only accept that though. Finding a ride on the other hand... Anyone who can't figure that one out should probably stay home, or at least bring their legal guardian along.

Maybe a huge sign straight ahead as people are heading down the alley that has an arrow pointing to the parking garage and another arrow pointing the opposite way stating private parking lot, may be towed.
After working in a grocery store in high school, the number of people who don't see signs is astronomical. The trick is to anticipate their gaze, and put signs where people are most likely to look, not where you want them to look. A creative paint job would probably help the five guys lot and drive would-be illegal parks to the paid lot. The employee only lot should have a logo that is super off putting, to the point that randos would be worried for the cars there that actually belong.
When I was last there in August, I almost parked at five guys there to meet you guys but I decided I didn’t want to pay “$____” cash. Cheaper to pay a lot less to have fun.

It's been 20 years since I visited Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. I don't recognize a single thing that I saw on my screen today.😢 I guess that's progress to some people. To me....well, I'm just sad that I'll never get to go back to the place I visited before. It was magical. And from what I can see....it's gone. Sorry for the lamentations. It is what it is. You guys are doing a great job! I guess the growth & expansion have had a positive effect on your business. ....and at least that is a good thing.

And it's always blocked by people walking, so I never have tried to pull in there, so I don't know why somebody else would that doesn't know the area or lives there. Will never understand it. We're up from SC at least yearly and we have a running joke about parking at 5 Guys and Country Inn. Watching these videos, it seems like a never ending repeat of the same illegal parking lots over and over.
This is my 15th video today. New subscriber starting newest to oldest . That apartment complex definitely needs visitor parking passes. I've seen this complex on a few other videos already.
When people are stressed or are in an unfamiliar environment, they don’t seem to see signs. I work in a hospital and we have a huge sign that says “Labor and Delivery” with an-> pointing where to go. 80% of the time they will walk right under the sign and ask me where L&D is.
There is a Parking Garage here with a similar set up and facing the oncoming road is a big Parking sign with an arrow, it is three feet from the entrance. It seem to benworking
The apartment complex I towed for started that and give each renter a 2 guest parking tags to hang on mirrors and that solved a lot of problems then if they had overnight visitors they went to the office and got a different colored one worked out great the cars couldn't stay overnight unless they had the right color of tag hanging in it
I feel like if you go down an alley way and see a small lot that you are most definitely not parking correctly. Not to mention all the signs. People be crazy. Keep up all the great work Jeff and Kristin!
I work in home care. We keep a company car at one of the homes. then we use the car to stop by multiple homes in the area. then we come back at the end of the day and switch out cars. so its possible but they still should get a sticker. We do to park at one of the homes.
Probably not a great idea when it's an apartment building parking lot, as there may be a limited number of spaces for residents. I can see this working at a private home with the owner's permission, though.
I have been towed and thank the Good Lord for the tow truck or I would probably been killed by cars and semis going so fast and not pulling over even though I was pulled over past the shoulder some would be on the shoulder as they past me on I 20 in Texas with a flat at night. A shout out to Texas Troopers who came to my aid and the tow truck who got there so fast. At 80 I am not able to get a tire off any more even though my husband taught our daughters and myself how to do that, oil, to check tire pressure and fluids. Age gets to all of us!
Maybe 221 Newman Rd. would make Gatlinburg more fun it was an official tourist location. Should talk to the city/county department of commerce or tourism to add your place to the list.

You need that housing complex to lay out a proper parking procedures to eliminate any doubt as to who belongs there or not. most def have designated visitor spots with temp parking tags.

i had a similar situation so we did have a home health care taker/ nurse for my grandfather and they would come into the home and take care of my grandfathers needs for a few hours each week and they would take him to appointments but they always used their car not his or someone else's to take them. and their car was covered in nurse stickers and company logos even on the nurses personal car they were given decals to put on their personal cars if they had to use them for work.
Sounds like someone is carpooling and using the apartments as a commuter parking lot to avoid paying fees downtown. Time for manager to issue on-demand temporary/daily dated parking passes that cannot be easily altered. Playing stupid games win stupid prizes.
I think it's more like what they said in the video. That perhaps the home health nurse is using a company vehicle and is stealing time. She parks it at a house she's supposed to be at so that the GPS on the vehicle shows she's where she's supposed to be and then she goes off to do something else. But it could be a car pooling thing too depending on how long she is leaving the vehicle there because my mom had home health for a bit last year and they were never here more than an hour so it wouldn't make sense if she was leaving it there all day.

My condo finally got onto resident parking tags that hangs on the rear view mirror and they gave us tags for visitors. Worked great.

When I lived in a condo we painted the apartment number on a parking space, one per unit is all we had room for. The rest were open for anyone.
I am more of the cautious type. $10 or so for parking is not bad nowadays. I have paid $35 a day at the Hotel I was staying at in Hawaii.

When I was last there in August, I almost parked at five guys there to meet you guys but I decided I didn’t want to pay “$____” cash. Cheaper to pay a lot less to have fun.

I guess that's progress to some people. To me....well, I'm just sad that I'll never get to go back to the place I visited before. It was magical. And from what I can see....it's gone.

I'm been going to Gatlinburg for years and seeing that Sign four the parking garage. But was always too scared to go down that little alley. And it's always blocked by people walking, so I never have tried to pull in there, so I don't know why somebody else would that doesn't know the area or lives there. Will never understand it. Love the videos
The home healthcare worker you are spot on. They have a gps on the car she is riding the clock and out doing something else.
In my neck of the woods all “Nurses “ that are visiting clients have permanent attachment stickers or a large placard that is placed on the dashboard giving a contact number for the Nurses company

Imma gonna make up a bingo card with all their excuses so we at home can play along. 😂 I work in a library and we have a saying, “patrons don’t come here to read” and that seems true in parking, too. As Jeff said, sometimes it’s tough to adult! LOL
Jeff, my wife and I have walked behind 5 guys several times when we visited Gatlinburg, hoping to see you and Kristen, we’ve noticed that there are signs everywhere, and other places u get illegal tows, there are signs everywhere, they can say this or that but they are wrong, and they know it. We're up from SC at least yearly and we have a running joke about parking at 5 Guys and Country Inn. Watching these videos, it seems like a never ending repeat of the same illegal parking lots over and over.

This is my 15th video today. New subscriber starting newest to oldest . That apartment complex definitely needs visitor parking passes. I've seen this complex on a few other videos already.
When people are stressed or are in an unfamiliar environment, they don’t seem to see signs. I work in a hospital and we have a huge sign that says “Labor and Delivery” with an-> pointing where to go. 80% of the time they will walk right under the sign and ask me where L&D is.

There is a Parking Garage here with a similar set up and facing the oncoming road is a big Parking sign with an arrow, it is three feet from the entrance. It seem to benworking
The apartment complex I towed for started that and give each renter a 2 guest parking tags to hang on mirrors and that solved a lot of problems then if they had overnight visitors they went to the office and got a different colored one worked out great the cars couldn't stay overnight unless they had the right color of tag hanging in it
I feel like if you go down an alley way and see a small lot that you are most definitely not parking correctly. Not to mention all the signs. People be crazy. Keep up all the great work Jeff and Kristin!
I work in home care. We keep a company car at one of the homes. then we use the car to stop by multiple homes in the area. then we come back at the end of the day and switch out cars. so its possible but they still should get a sticker. We do to park at one of the homes.
Probably not a great idea when it's an apartment building parking lot, as there may be a limited number of spaces for residents. I can see this working at a private home with the owner's permission, though.
I have been towed and thank the Good Lord for the tow truck or I would probably been killed by cars and semis going so fast and not pulling over even though I was pulled over past the shoulder some would be on the shoulder as they past me on I 20 in Texas with a flat at night. A shout out to Texas Troopers who came to my aid and the tow truck who got there so fast. At 80 I am not able to get a tire off any more even though my husband taught our daughters and myself how to do that, oil, to check tire pressure and fluids. Age gets to all of us!
Maybe 221 Newman Rd. would make Gatlinburg more fun it was an official tourist location. Should talk to the city/county department of commerce or tourism to add your place to the list.

You need that housing complex to lay out a proper parking procedures to eliminate any doubt as to who belongs there or not. most def have designated visitor spots with temp parking tags.

i had a similar situation so we did have a home health care taker/ nurse for my grandfather and they would come into the home and take care of my grandfathers needs for a few hours each week and they would take him to appointments but they always used their car not his or someone else's to take them. and their car was covered in nurse stickers and company logos even on the nurses personal car they were given decals to put on their personal cars if they had to use them for work.
Sounds like there needs to be more conversation in the apartment. I still love when people say that much to just drop it.
My grandfather's nurse had a placard that hung on her rear view mirror stating she was a nurse/care giver
Sounds like someone is carpooling and using the apartments as a commuter parking lot to avoid paying fees downtown. Time for manager to issue on-demand temporary/daily dated parking passes that cannot be easily altered. Playing stupid games win stupid prizes.
I think it's more like what they said in the video. That perhaps the home health nurse is using a company vehicle and is stealing time. She parks it at a house she's supposed to be at so that the GPS on the vehicle shows she's where she's supposed to be and then she goes off to do something else. But it could be a car pooling thing too depending on how long she is leaving the vehicle there because my mom had home health for a bit last year and they were never here more than an hour so it wouldn't make sense if she was leaving it there all day.
