Ok
Jazza I love your vids thanks for being great❤
Really cool and original protect. It's cool that people still spend time into family activities and not just individual ones
Ok ❤🍄🍄❤
Super excited to see how this progresses! Amazing stuff so far 🔥
Dang, Nerdforge causally in the comments lol. It’s actually so cool to see creators support each other
@@storminggale And she could even create a coffee machine themed after his world for him hahaha
Maybe join Jazza in the play testing phase !?
As soon as he mentioned building these kinds of cool stuff I immediately thought of you and here you are in the comments 🤩
Did he just use comic sans to announce a 3+ year project? Absolute madlad, but either way I am hyped, hopefully we will see a lot more soon from this universe :)
That is the Jazza way
Bruh...I said the same thing! As a designer myself, my jaw dropped.
Comic Sans ROCKS tho!
I will never understand the obsession with comic sans, what makes it SO much worse than all the other fonts? It’s entirely legible so what the heck is so terrible about it???
@annataymond9529 supposedly it's because it's bee over used to the point of exhaustion... but I love it! Easy to read but a bit more fun!
I think scrap needs a dog… it just seems right
YES but because it’s fiction, maybe a dog like pet
@@starmonke1119 exactly
Oooooh a hell hound
Scrap and scratch!
That'd be extraordinary
I need an animal-like character. Something small and feisty. Androgenous. Maybe not a typical earthly creature. Maybe something from the realm of stitch. More limbs but you could pet it.
Also an insect could be awesome. Really lean into the spook of it.
Sounds like a fun game. Can't wait to see the progress.
Ooooo yeah a bug-like character or some sort of animal character would be so cool! Having a character that deviates from humans but still looks like it would be on equal footing with humans would be pretty awesome. Even just, like, a talking dog would be alright for me lol
I think an animal character something mythical based like unicorn or dragon. Xxx
I was about to ring the furry bell, and then you said "insect." I mean no kink shaming if that's the case... *Backs away slowly
A fennec fox like creature with the massive ears ❤❤❤❤ power being, super hearing and super strong roar for such a small creature giving enemies the false idea that its not powerful ❤❤
Swear every few years jazza is like "hey guys look at what I've been working on for the last few years" and it just gets better each time!! We get spoiled as a community!!!
You should develop a personality quiz to sort people into which world/patron they would best align with. It would be a fun way to introduce people to the universe personally and build hype around the game by people breeding loyalty to their chosen faction.
Also a "magical girl" type character would be really cool, especially with a unique and dark twist
You could also develop a short graphic novel depicting the backstory of each character.
This is *such* a good idea. It's very pottermore. Would totally be worth setting up subscriber contests with entry fees (which go toward game development) for character backstory/world building short story contests. Could segue into some really cool animation contests and projects, too! Allowing viewers to vote on winners would allow hardcore fans to effect the story of the world you're building develop some investment in the world, characters and overall story that would pretty much guarantee this thing to take off when it's finally ready for launch. Some patreon dnd campaigns with homebrew game characters would be so much fun, too.
@@Mullybee Yes! Would be such a better alternative to Hogwarts houses! And getting the community involved via art contest is such a good idea too!
That would be sick
A personality quiz would be awesome! It would definitely make me a lot more invested in this project if I knew which patron I relate to :]
This could be a great idea for marketing too. Spreading word of the game as people in the know share it with their friends to find out which faction they would align with!
Please make sure that the name "Gatecrash" is not protected or trademarked by Wizards of the Coast, as they have released an Magic the gathering expansion with the same name in 2013!
My first thought upon hearing the name!
A word, without any direct reference or lifting of trademarked material is totally safe. I don't think the similarities between gatecrashing and planeswalking are unique enough to warrant an accusation of infringement. Wizards would have to be able to prove that Jazza and Co. are benefiting unfairly from Magic's use of the word, or causing harm to their Gatecrash product, and would probably have to prove intent as well, none of which seems to be a very winnable case. The WotC Gatecrash logo is copyrighted (or more accurately Trademarked), but the word Gatecrash is free to use by anyone.
Definitely confirm this hasbro is big enough that they could be annoying about this.
They are professional im pretty sure they already did all this copyright boring part of making a game
I believe it’s also a movie
I've got to say it: the Bone Collector is GORGEOUS.
I'm a MtG player/collector and I am in love with the Golgari guild, from Ravnica, and the Bone Collector looks like the Golgari were from the mesoamerican world of Ixalan.
It's a weird mesh of styles that works PERFECTLY.
Genuinely one of the most stunning miniatures I have ever seen: an aztec/mayan bone golem/corpse collector with a gigantic macuahitl.
You really outdid yourself, chapeau.
Yea bone collector has to be one of my favourites it's such a good concept
*bone harvester though
I'm so glad you changed the skin tone on the alchemist guy. I literally saw the human skintone and thought "aww, I wish he had a weird skintone, these characters are too human," and then he became aqua :)
He was kinda just Jafar, but he turned into a cool weirdo. Much better
Blue and white is my favorite color team. Too bad the character's such a jerk.
And technically if they make the minis unpainted in the box, then anyone can choose to still make him a normal skin tone if they preferred that.
But now that he is otherworldly, the leather pouches don’t make sense to me
@@OhLookItsDavid too many 1990s comics? 🙂
I would love to see a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde type character, depicted halfway through transformation. I am partial to the "I am nice because I want to be, not because I have to be. Don't mistake my kindness for weakness" character archetype. I picture him as an unwilling champion for one of the gods, trying to fix the effects the gates has on his world. He may be a village elder, a retired veteran, or similar grandfatherly figure (not necessarily old, but the vibe of a wise man, out of his prime), but being exposed to the energies manifests in a personality and physique that is capable of dealing with the troubles that manifests in his world.
this. please this is so good.
There is no Dr Jekyll... I made sure to trap him in my basement... There is only me...
Love and support this idea. To me, you could add Dr. David Banner to the list. Pretty much Jeckyll and Hyde.
This is a good one!
it would be cool to have some additional "non-aligned" characters that still follow the fallen goddess and can jump/fight for each faction to have some flexibility in the game.
Gotta say this is iteration of Gatecrasher sounds awesome! I was in the camp that was immediately against the older app iteration, but this new version seems fun, customizable, and great!
Maybe an aquatic/underwater inspired creature for one of the characters? From a planet that essentially was just water, I’m thinking in line of the video game Subnautica!
I could totally see an Atlantis style civilization on an old water planet, but having some of that Subnautica aesthetic in their design instead of them, just looking like mermaid people, i.e., lots of eyes and color
Base his design on Kevin Costner
Agreed, a subnautica themed charcter would be really cool!
water factions are always a win, even if people don't play them they always add flavour to universes or just look really cool. (Age of Sigmar Idoneth spring to mind)
@@jjhjam4127 completely agree! It’s a very simple way of adding some visual and environmental diversity
Random thought: a character or faction actually looking to restore Astra. Perhaps she's still alive but existing as a noncorporeal entity and seeking allies as a separate group or within the Crashers touched by her children to end the chaos and punish her wicked offspring.
I like this idea!
Yes. I like the creativity of the characters but they all kind of feel like villains to me.
i hadn't seen this comment before making my own along the exact same lines, because the other 5 are evil, the gatecrashers, are not good people, they are destroying innocent worlds, so a 6th faction trying to restore Astra, and stop the plague of gatecrashers.
@@MoltenImaginings Considering all of the offspring are evil it's not surprising the people they reach out to are either already evil or corrupted by the power they offer. Having a positive faction for guys like me (provided they don't get corrupted in other ways) would benefit the game, a faction that the other factions don't like or tolerate at the annoyance of their diety's annoyance and concern.
@ShadowWingTronix agree the game needs this especially if its aimed at children too. They need better role models if it has a role play element.
I'd love to see a dedicated "toon" type of character, a Roger Rabbit-esque goofball who acts as a sort of wildcard character, emphasizing as much random chaos as thoughtful strategy. A character that is maybe for the person who wants to bring silliness to a game rather than playing to win. I'm the kinda player who likes to cause mischief rather than necessarily rush to victory. That's my play-style in DnD at least! Just my two cents plus tax on the topic.
I've had the 4 printed models sitting on my desk for ages now. So good to hear an update.
This. This is the content you should be creating and posting. I'd love to see more of how this project comes to life, because it's YOU. It's your passion that's exciting to watch and with this we can see and feel how much of yourself you put into this, way more than the other videos I saw recently from you.
One thing I’ve always wanted is to, for example, buy a Hypatia character pack that contains 3-5 minis of just that character in *different* poses. Especially if they are single pose. It’s so character driven, we should be able to represent that on the battlefield. Maybe different skins like in video games too…?
I work as a theatre director (ex-actor) and so work with new writing a lot.
With how long actual enthralling, deep, fiction takes to write, especially if it’s interconnected, I’d start reaching out to novelists, screenwriters and comic writers.
However, choose them CAREFULLY.
Cast them like Hitchcock did; each writer/artist chosen not just because they’re great but because they’re perfectly suited to the *specific* story you’re trying to tell.
That’s how you end up with John Williams scoring Indiana Jones and Superman *after* Star Wars or Bernard Herrmann scoring Hitchcock after working with Orson Welles, Danny Elfman and Tim Burton, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Bryan Cranston as Walter White AFTER Malcolm in the Middle.
It’s not typecasting, it’s playing into their innate strengths and taste. Casting isn’t 50% of the magic, it’s 98%+, because when you get it right, they are in their element and they soar.
Downey as Iron man, Depp as Jack Sparrow, Ford as Indy or Richard Kimble, Reeve as Superman, Reeves as John Wick, Holland as Spider-Man, the entire cast of Star Trek TNG, GoT, Parks and Rec etc.
No doubt you’ll have big story plans. Work the broad strokes out WAAAAY in advance with all your current heartbreaking or soaring moments and ideas tacked in as goalposts.
You can learn from the handling of all franchises before you.
Don’t just create the next season in a writers room, get everyone together and build an entire possible roughed in timeline. Be Tolkien, not the hobbit movies or even George RR Martin, figuring it out book to book.
You could pioneer a way of advancing the narrative of the universe by players submitting their game results and taking the average or something else.
The creation of AoS from Warhammer fantasy was super exciting but so limited in scope.
What if Gatecrash was reenactment like the Horus Heresy but created and curated by you and driven by the players.
Also look to deep characters but portrayed through film and comics in *time* *limited* *mediums*. Give them secrets, and defining/traumatic moments on you know about that drive their actions you can choose to use at a later date like the cast of Watchmen, Don Draper from Mad Men, Vader as Anakin AND Luke and Leia’s father, Winter Soldier is Bucky, Shutter Island’s reveal, Snape and HP’s parents etc.
There’s an AMAZING book by a major New York editor called ‘The Breakout Novel’ by Donald Maas. Get the *workbook* version. It will elevate your story and characters on every level and Gatecrash is already awesome.
I also think if you reached out far in advance you could secure top talent from the comics industry for artists. Guys like Jorge Jimenez are some of the best to ever put pen to paper but writers aren’t creating iconic classic storylines like they used to and they NEED that. Bringing someone like Jimenez or John Romita Jr on board early as a story teller could not just bring attention but massively increase the quality of work in the expanded media side of Gatecrash.
Ashley Wood is an icon of the comics industry and he’s Australian.
Why not reach out to Weta, who adore GW and wargaming.
George Miller of Mad Max would LOVE gatecrash.
Visionaries who thrive on collaboration.
Even if nothing came of it now, having made those connects early could be critical down the line if Gatecrash took off in a big way like after a Netflix animated movie or limited series.
Reach out to Robert Kirkman (creator writer of the Walking Dead and Invincible) and his company Skybound which he built *specifically* to help take IP’s beyond their original medium and into merchandising, film and tv etc.
Do it early to learn the do’s and don’ts from people who have *actually* been there.
Especially regarding rights, ownership and legal stuff.
If you’re going for it, go for it, but learn from what’s been done before and leverage the digital age and the connection that can bring directly or by drawing attention to attract the success you see for the world of Gatecrash.
100%. I screen write, if any of the team are interested in speaking.
You really put yourself out there- it’s so brave and that shows. Thank you for sharing this long term project; the setup is perfect for expansion and the time the game runs plus the age range and number of people I personally find ideal. I’ll look forward to trying it someday here in America. :)
This looks soooooooo freaking cool!!!! Like 🤯 the creativity is just insane and it’s COHESIVE. Like it makes sense and it’s really well thought out. It’s so exciting! 🎉 I love it when you do something true to you.. it comes through on the screen and it’s enjoyable to watch. Can’t wait!!!
A character I can see for the Epoch faction would be a Demigod type character, like Hercules or Achilles. A warrior of ancient times who is seeking glory and greatness, but is constantly overshadowed by more famous warriors. So the warrior sets off on a quest and comes across the Gate to the Harmony Goddess' heart and becomes a Champion of Epoch.
I agree, I think that the Epoch faction should be based on Greek God's like you could have
Hadies or Aphrodiete that are seeking glory and greatness, but is constantly getting overshadowed by Epoch and then kills half of his faction because he goes crazy and then gains the body of a man that has a long nose, short faded beard, a black a green over coat and dark green skin. Oh also go for a underworld vibe floating in the air
i agree and i'd love it if she was a woman that'll make it more interesting
Given that you love storytelling, character creation and rich backstories of characters, it was only a matter of time until you create your own universe.
And I'm all for it! 😎 Looking forward to more of this, great work!
And by the way - I love your brush pack 👌You and Alicia did a great job!
Congrats on getting to where you are. I completely feel for your efforts and what not, as I've also been working on my own games (mine are a computer style board game and a pen and paper RPG). So I totally feel excited for everything you've been doing and can't wait to see more!
i love the project and i'm so excited to see this get completed! it looks so cool and i just know how much you guys put into projects like this. i wish you and your team all the best, jazza!!!!
For an Omega 'crasher, I see something that is visually like a swarm, eating, corroding or otherwise bringing about the dissolution of everything it touches. I feel like rotting-type things would feel too visually similar to Nurgle, but something more like the nanobot swarm, turning everything to grey goop feels a bit more fresh.
Love it, had a similar idea myself!
@@michaelwells529Great minds...
Yeah something that's more robotic would be pretty unique! Plus making it swarm of little bots instead of just one robot would be pretty interesting!
Interesting to see some more detailed info about the game. I’m a huge board game fan, have never played tabletop games. My only concern that I see so far from the story perspective is that all of the ‘gods’ seem negative or (bad guys). It’s a silly little thing, but it would impact my interest I think.
I'm brewing on an 'Issora' (harmony) faction, for that reason. No plans yet, yes she's dead, but who knows where her power spread or who her followers are!
@@JazzaI saw someone suggest a faction attempting to bring her back. I like that suggestion myself.
@@rumpeltyltskyn Seconded. Or I guess thirded.
Yes! I love the game concept, but I do think the game needs a “good” or “light” faction.
@@Jazza I already like the sound of that! :) Excited to see where that idea goes!
This is amazing and is such a GREAT idea!! You're not only so funny but this takes so much talent, skill, creativeness! I know that all your dreams that you may find ambitious will work out! Through your significant hard work, you can achieve anything. Even eventually a TV show, it giving me marvel vibes and I see this being SUCH A POPULAR series. I really hope to see you succeed in the nearby future and reach the dreams that you deserve to achieve. Never give up jazza!! We are all rooting for you.
This is my favorite project you’ve ever started. i have such an obsession with tabletop games like this and i am so excited to see more dev logs on the main channel. i’ve been following this since you started a couple years ago
3 years!? That kind of dedication is crazy awesome to me! Hats off to all of you guys involved 🤩🥳
honestly 3 years is nothing for a project this big. it's amazing they could do it so fast.
I absolutely love this idea and project! Board games, especially board game creation have always been a love of mine, and being able to see how games like this are created, with the combination shown in your game with the art, game mechanics, lore, and the universe overall, is just so awesome to watch and see come to life. I can't wait to see where you take this and I wish you the best of luck!!
Yooooo Jazza I have been watching your channel since I was a teenager and this is by far one of the biggest and most exciting things you have posted and I am hooked ready to get the game when it comes out. Looking forward to seeing the process.
Sometimes when I read a book series, I think "how must this universe look in the authors brain?" .... this video showed me what a building universe looks like inside of your creative brain. Really cool to see this
Jazza I have been watching your videos since 2010 and this video 100% gives me the same goosebumps and excitement I got when I first discovered your channel!
Amazing work my friend! I hope the algorithm helps push this content so you can get rewarded for making more videos like this!
Wow I am so invested. I just started trying to get into table top games and this just blew my mind away. I’d absolutely love to play this game and hear more about the story and characters. You and your team are so creative and I can’t wait to see more. I’ve watched this channel for years and am so happy to see every new project
I wasn't expecting your biggest project was a tabletop game but is good to see how hyped and passionate you are for it.
I'm not into tabletop games but I will watch when you release a new video about this project.
DUDE!!!!!! I am absolutely in love with this project. I'm going to be following you and your colleague's journeys with this project the whole way, and I am so excited to one day sink my teeth into the world, whether it be through game, writing, or art, etc. This is fantastic.
I love everything about this video and about Gatecrash. I love the lore and world building, but I also love how you’ve incorporated your original IP into video concepts that are popular, such as character design, making the game board. I don’t know about other viewers, but if this is the future of Jazza studios, I’m very excited.
I’ll be watching for Gatecrasher videos! I love world building and magic systems, so this makes me so genuinely excited!! Can’t wait to see what you and your team comes up with!!
Woah! This is cool as hell! I look forward to seeing how it grows.
... Funny, I've started a similar-ish project about a year ago, too. That's pretty cool.
I’ve only recently found your channel sometime within the last year. I am not an artist at all, I’d be lucky to draw a stick figure well. But I watch every one of your videos, and this one in particular has me so hyped. I can’t wait to hear more!
Cause you already have a seraphim style character I feel like for the next character in that faction you could make them a cherubim, similar with the wings but has more human and animal features mixed in aswell it'd be really cool to see the different animals incorporated into the human head with all the wings for them
For the faction scrap belongs too it would be cool to see some sort of robot/mech dude kinda like a big gentle giant to counter how tiny scrap is
For the wizard sort of guy I feel like you could do a sort of male or female that's similar in appearance with the pointed ears and skin colour but maybe make them closer to looking like a Djinn but with a nimbus cloud as their lower body to kind of fit in with the Electric purple sort of theme for them
For the bone harvesters faction you could do like an orc, lizard person or some more animalistic tribal character
And to fit with the lion and girl duo it would be cool to have a sort of griffin/bird person that's maybe female
Could also do like a demon/Oni style character or maybe a Kitsune or tengu style character which would look really cool
I love your enthusiasm, creativity, and passion! I can't wait to see what new characters and universes you come up with. Best of luck...I hope that this becomes a huge success for you and your team!!
Best wishes on your next project! Excited to get a copy of it.
I have been unbelievably excited for this video, and grow more and more excited to eventually play this game myself with friends!
I'm glad that Dave and Alysha were showcased in this video as well, they have given a tremendous amount of love and effort as well! I would personally love to hear from the both of them at some point as well, I think that would be enriching!
I love the universe of gatecrash its so cool ❤🍄🍄❤
I have every hope for you and this new to us project! Thank you for sharing this with all of us. I am a bit confused with the story, but perhaps it just needs more development and polish. I believe that you can get there just keep working and developing your ideas!
This is absolutely insane (in the best way possible.) I dont get that invested in games but I LOVE stories and lore and this is some of the best worldbuilding I’ve seen. It seems a lot like Brandon Sanderson’s style of world (he is my favourite author so this is another compliment) I cant wait to see how this turns out!
Man, you are cool as fuk. Watching Art Attack as a kid, being inspired to be an artist. Youre inspiring me as an adult
Same!
Wooo! We love to see an excited and passionate Jazza! Excited to see the future of Gatecrash! ❤~Gillzybean
The world and story you've crafted for this are all very cool. I'm not super into tabletop games, but I'll happily watch anything around this, because it's inspiring seeing your passion, and also because it's just rad.
Jazza! This! This is what we've been waiting for! You look so excited, so happy! Combining your love of story telling and character design is what we've been waiting for. This is your passion and it shows in every aspect of the video. I will watch a series of this come together. I can't wait to see more. The possibilities from this, the merch, mmorpgs, companies approaching you to use or even buy it. This is so freaking exciting I wish you and your team nothing but success with this.
Character idea: A shadow/mist character. When passing the characters on the board game, it will turn the character into the opposite of what it is (for xx amount of turns).
He who destroys can be used to rebuild.
He who kills can be used to revive etc.
But there is a limit of how fast "it who's watching from the shadows" can make a move again. And while other characters turn into the opposite, the shadow should watch out to not disappear itself...
FINALLY, thank you, thumbs up!
So excited to see more character design sessions!! Congrats on all the progress Jazza!
Been enjoying seeing the project develop! I remember some of the early videos of those initial character creations. Scrap is by far my favorite character come to life so far but excited to see more characters make their way to a miniature version!
As a heads up, Gatecrash is the name of a MTG set that might be really hard to win the SEO war against given that you're competing in a similar space.
Searching Gatecrash boardgame gives the website to jazzas game first thing
Doing my own cursory search:
The first result is the dictionary entry
Second is mtg
Third is a video list with the tabletop time video in it
I think he'll be fine lmao
Oh I think a really cool design could be a character from a postapocalyptic world that has healed (e.i. Adventure Time) and now the world and its characters are in pretty much a renaissance era with High Fantasy elements. The character could be a type of Mutant Like Dragon (or something) Character using old scraps of things to make new fantasy weapons (Maybe Like a stop sign repurposed into a shield with a lot of decoration to show the repesct for the ancient people of the past). And the character's story line could be a play off of classic fairy tale.
Also SO Genuinely exicted to see a project like this! Been subbed since I was little and am glad I got to grow up with you as an artist role model!!!!
Jazza I am being following you almost since your humble beginnings, it's been a really hard effort, I saw the creation of the second studio, and the launch of the crowdfunding for it, and all ican say is that your whole community is really proud of you and no matter the circunstances, WE WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW AND SUPPORT YOU AND ALL YOUR TEAM!
gawdamn, every time man, every time i end up spending my savings just to try your ideas hahaha, super excited to hear more from this, best of luck
I have a small concept idea maybe a character that longed for happiness but never got it soon being corrupted by the idea of it that they become some dangerous being who thinks they can bring a change but doesn't maybe a bit of a two face being idk what god it would fit into for who they worship but im interested if my idea goes through what will the design be maybe a mask that they use to cover their face which is full or sorrow and mournful feelings and the mask is like some scary smile trying to look happy hiding their own feelings to bring happiness (but that happiness is what they think they bring but haven't and is trapped in a thought that they are making things better) srry for the long description i had so much fun thinking of this idea
You should send your game to other board game and rpg channels on yt, like no rolls barred. It can help with advertising and Kickstarter.
this looks really cool, I will definitely be watching more of the vids on this!!!
you asked about character ideas and I was wondering if you could make a woman dwarf-like character with a full beard and like 3 eyes or spider legs or something?
so glad you are excited about a new project!!! I wish you all the luck!
Gosh, I LOVE your world building and character design! It already hits the sweet spot - an amazing fantasy world that still feels real.
I can't unsee the "DAD" that's displayed at the top of the temple in 6:21...
You hav some pretty good observations 😅
You go girl
I love people creating worlds and characters, whatever the form. I'm very excited to see what you come up with further for this!
Best of luck to you!
Everything you do always excites me. You are just the most creative person ever. I draw caricatures and cartoons and I know how much you put into your creations This is causing me so much anticipation to play x
I would love to see a character with a super large top hat
By the way the game looks awesome and I would defiantly play this
Character idea:
This character lives on a world where the society is split in-two. One part of this society revolves around a cluster of highly powerful gatecrashers (dozens to thousands depending on how rare they are), and their loyal subjects/worshippers. The gatecrashers are a tiny minority that are viewed almost as royalty, except by the second half of this society; the citizens, or peasants. These citizens lack almost all luxuries in their lives, only scrounging the bare necessities. It is a tyrannical society, one where citizens are encouraged to become loyal to the gatecrashers, to be given more so that they can live less destitute lives, or refuse and remain redundant, powerless, and "useless".
This character lived in the second half of that society. They lived a life of suffering and resentment, one where they tried their best to provide what they could for the people they loved... Only to fail, and watch, powerlessly, as those loved ones were lost. In a fit of grief and vengeance, an oath was sworn into the cold night air, "Let me be their ruin"; an oath that was heard by one of these gods. Suddenly, this character is given the literal god-given right to stand among those whom oppress, as a secret enemy. They infiltrate, and in doing so, discover what it is like to live as a gatecrasher - worshipped by all but their own people. They also discover secrets. Why do these gatecrashers require worshippers?- what could be the purpose for the god that bestowed them these powers... And perhaps why this 'different' god decided to give this character powers to rival them. What else will they learn (or have learned), as they tear(ed) down this empire.
(I was thinking this gatecrasher cluster could also be involved with the destruction of Scrap's world)
Hey Jazza, I have been working on a board game myself for a couple years now as a side project, when I heard you say you were making a Igasped I was so excited! I cannot wait to see more of this porject, it gets me excited and motivated to work on my game as well!
This! These types of videos is why i follow you Jazza. Please post more of these!
It would be very cool, to see like an clown that has a skin out of different animals, humans or other creatures body parts. As an example, he could have bear claws and eagle feet. But just a black and white mask as the face. He also has a Dice, that decide what he would do: One side has a skull, that means kill. An other side has a heart for help... He dosent have a weapon, because the dice decide what he does. I hope you like these ideas!
You're supposed to announce secret projects by apologizing and pretending to be sad, then staring at the camera for like 30 seconds before slamming the project down on the table and walking away.
I love D&D and this game just seems amazing. The cards and special abilities of each character are just so cool! Love your game and hope you finish it soon.
Super interesting concept. I am very excited to see where the trip is going.
An idea for a character that might be relatable to a lot of people that play video games. The character is maybe immobalised and moves around in some kind of a wheelchair. Attached to the wheelchair are various weapons. The character moves around and controls the weapons using a VR headset and some kind of controller. This character would have the story that they dont have the physical strength of others but they have the smarts and skills required to allow them to be a hero
a "pretty pink princess" type character with a really abusive and violent family who randomly stumbles upon the void(?) thing and decides to leave also love this idea and the way your putting so much work into it
This is SO COOL!!! As a video gamer myself I so hope you make this a video game but the beginnings of this are still epic! I’m so excited for you 🥳🥳🥳
It Looks very cool! Great work
You have a biblically accurate angel, why not a biblically accurate demon that is the opposite of chaos? the buer would be a good example to start with.
So good
Interesting use of Generative video/images but still too obvious sadly, so it actually hurts the visuals more then making them impact vol i'd say, i cant stop thinking that im looking at a generative piece instead of someones hard work, and my guess is that may never change even if it is so good it is invisible.
also neat story concept of having fantasy sci-fi and more just combined gives it quite a distinct feel but i do have to say the last two characters are just confusing and not really clear what they're "character" is.
If a project uses AI I stop caring about it and can't bring myself to care ever again. If the project isn't worth the creators attention, because that's all they communicate when the use this tech, then it isn't worth mine, or anyone's, either.
@@Cyliandre441 true, if it isn't a person's love and passion that im looking at why would i even look at it.
@Cyliandre441 which is frustratng because he and the team yave clearly worked a lot on his- so why undermine it with these ugly uncanny (not to mention immoral) VFX- which would not be hard for them to make themselves!
Love this!! I love this as a tabletop game; that easy to play for all. I have always been intimidated by other tabletop games; their so big, and there's lots of pieces. Yet Gatecrasher seems pritty manageable. Plus, I love the characters and their back stories; I could read a hold book series on that. Maybe one day you could branch this idea out to other forms like: books, video game, and a cartoon. I would love that.
Thank you for sharing this!
Nice one. Good luck with your game going forward :)
UNDER 1 HR GANG~
Here
Very cool though I am disappointed that you have 1 fem character and she has a dude sidekick. I would love to see more ethnic and gender diversity in the characters. I would love to see a chaos fairy or nymph or even a potion master sorceress 😁 some characters with some cool cosplay opportunities ❤❤❤
Diversity is built into the process, I intend to have a huge cast of all kinds of characters great and small!
@@Jazza that's brilliant! I'm so excited to see where you take this world and how the community can add depth to it in our own ways. Would love to sign up for beta testing, might even make a character cosplay for the occasion 😍
Love the idea Jazza, your ambition is inspiring! I noticed in the concept art for the ascended that there was one that looked like fully chrome or glass, and I think that could be a cool idea for a unique character design
Excited to see where this is going, and super stoked to hear there will be character creation videos again!!
Jazza wants it to be unique, but for me, it seems like a generic fantasy/sci-fi universe in which children of a powerful god/being fight with each other :/ Unique characters, but not very unique setting, there are tons of sci-fi and fantasy crossover games with plot like that
The gods are a kind of basic backdrop for factions and the interconnectedness of the universe, the meat of the stories will be in the characters and their worlds. Just wait till you see Lucevera!
not the use of AI on one of the biggest art channels on youtube used to showcase their biggest project to date..
I used AI only for some of the story backgrounds alongside the art I paid Alysha to do. 90% of the art in this video is Alysha - some of her art was given movement through AI like the story about the universe.
AI isnt inherently bad, especially as it seems they used it more to refine or speed up parts of the process rather that just let the ai do it all
Bro... it was just the backgrounds of scenes that have only one purpose: fill in the gaps in this video so that we're actually looking at something that's not just jazza talking. It's hardly a complaint.
Oh no, the author of one of the biggest art channels used AI to create boilerplate backgrounds and animated sparks for an intro video so they can spend their time working on the actual art, we're doomed!
@@Jazza I'm extremely disappointed... take more pride in your work. You taught me animation, you taught me art, I've been watching you for a decade. And I honestly feel betrayed :(
Good lord Jazza, your storytelling is just immaculate. I hope you see all of the success this project deserves
i love it
i hope its as great as you make it out to be
What a fun idea!!! Like the idea of expansion for this, new character packs and new maps! Keep it up man!
so cool! loved seeing so much of the character-building process for the new ones!
What a fun and exciting venture! Best wishes to you and your team of creators.
Ah, it drew a happy tear from my eyes, i am so happy and excited for you!!! I am one of the quiet followers, but this video made me submit my first comment, haha. I am myself an illustrator-character designer, started my carrier developing characters from local myths to be used in souvenir market, but on the side creating a video game with the characters I have created and hope it will see a daylight one day.
Anyway, keep on going! Your videos are very inspirational and informative and I am super glad that you have time and respurces for a meaningful creative project like Gatecrash! Best of luck!
I love that you found such a fulfilling way to combat that feeling that creating for RUclips has given you. I love watching you create, and I think my family will love this game
Hey, Jazza good luck with the new game. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress and the final result.
Jazza, this honestly sounds so cool like the characters and plot are all really in depth and interesting and I think it would make a great game or show
I’m so exited to see this project through till the end, it looks so fun and lore based which is one of my favourite things in a game as a world builder! This 3+ year project is going to be absolutely epic!
