Not to toot my own horn, but I was in a very short-lived group called The Village Pistols. We put out one single in 1981 with a picture sleeve that is now fetching up to $1700 on Discogs. Not sure why it's in such demand, but I'm always amused when I hear stories like this. I also have a couple of rare promo lp's that play from the inside of the record to the outer edge (One is a Japanese, 12-inch Bee Gees EP, and the other is a Polygram sampler). And I have my share of colored vinyl, picture discs, and the like. Thanks for another fun video, Hanna! You might have inspired me to make my own rare album video! Craig in NC.

I have been enjoying the videos of people showing 10 obscure records. The Frontier Trust Speed Nebraska record looks and sounds like something I should check out. I have a Cedar Street Sluts 7" but I don't have that album. Those Creation promo albums are very cool. Glad you did this video.

Hello Hanna; Like the room set up & the Velvet underground T - shirt. The Desperate Angel, with Rick Richards pre Georgia Satellites on guitar, good rare find. The J pop records are obscure for sure. We thought they were from the Chris collection. Oh Well. A nod to the home town with Frontier Trust. The Meher Baba is a rarity. We agree with you on the Cedar Street Muts record, we figured that was from the Chris collection. HA! Some very good obscure showings. Good entry for the contest, best of luck. Take care, 🙋‍♀Tina & 🙋‍♂Pat!~

As a Post-Punk/Indie fan in the 80s, I inevitably picked up plenty of obscure records by obscure bands on obscure labels. In relation to mainstream artists, the corporates convinced us there was rarity value in coloured vinyl when that became a thing in the late 70s. Felt like finding a golden ticket in a Wonka bar. Just from memory, I was gullibly dazzled by the delights of Police - Message in a Bottle (green), ELO - Sweet Talking Woman (purple), Squeeze - Slap and Tickle (red), Amy Stewart - Knock on Wood (12 inch, clear), Motorhead - Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers (12 inch, pink). These are probably all ten-a-penny.

Whoa! Frontier Trust! Great find with them. I'd love to have a copy of that Idaho 10 inch. Can't believe you scored a copy of that! Had no idea you owned some Japanese pop records, very nice to know! LOL GG Allin...the thrower of feces. A label rep guy I knew in Atlanta back in the '90s took a friend of his who happened to be wearing a pink polo shirt to a GG Allin show. Pink polo shirt guy did not know who GG Allin was. Poor guy. Got a couple of their albums on CD on order, should be here soon. The rarest record that I have is a copy of the infamous Two Virgins by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Picked it up at a record fair back in '85. It's a French pressing from '69 and comes complete with brown paper bag to cover up John & Yoko's "modesty" shall we say. Not entirely sure what it's worth, but it's a great piece of Beatles related vinyl to have in my collection.. Dear Omaha Introvert,
I'm sure glad I subscribed to your channel. It is very good. As for rare records, when you showed 'cedar street sluts' it sounded familiar. i went to my record collection and sure enough, I found my copy after about 5 seconds. The shrink wrap is still on the cover and reads "Second Coming Records, 235 Sullivan Street, n.y., n.y. 10012 "we buy your records"". Price $6.99. another label reads " warning, contains strong sexually suggestive lyrics". on the back cover, the band members are Lena Luna, Ginger Lee, and Holly Would. Black and Blue Records, Smithfield Rhode Island. So thank you for making me aware that I have a rare gem here. I take pride in that, but it can only be validated by pros such as 'Omaha Introvert.". Wow. You totally surprised me with the Japanese Pop records. I didn't see that coming at all and I have several Japanese Pop compilations and a couple of Japanese pop albums myself. That was pretty cool. So Idaho is a band I've heard of but not one I've heard. If they sound like Low, then I will have to check them out. I really like Low. Frontier Trust sounds interesting. I didn't know about Pete's interest in spirituality of gurus. The Meher Baba seems so interesting but I am curious what the Spoken Word is really like? It seems so unique that I am betting its original. I don't understand why someone would make a pirate copy of it. They Go Betweens, hell yeah. I think you're the only one that has ever talked about them before. So proud of Chris with his Cedar House Sluts album and if G.G. Allin assisted then it's automatically a rare record. Yeah, those Meher Baba tribute albums from Townshend are really interesting. I don't really care for spoken word bits but they make those tribute albums what they are. I must investigate Desperate Angel. Holy Cowbird! Go Betweens? Just mentioning them in a video and displaying an album I regard as a public service! That is some serious ornate pop. I used to goof with an old roommate with my crackpot theory that " Love Goes On" from "16 Lovers Lane" LP was in fact about Love(yeah, the band) just because the track itself was so Forever Changes influenced. I hear the Left Banke as well now. I need to locate Tallulah and Send Me A Lullaby,I know I have them on CD can't remember where. I'm already going through a thing with The Church and Matthew Sweet so one thing at a time. Another good group to check out would be Aztec Camera. Ah too much! Y'all have a great week!

Hey there, Lawrence! Hope all is well with you! I'm glad that you also love the Go Betweens! For whatever reason they are not mentioned enough! Ah, and you mentioned the Left Banke. Love them! I have that Walk Away Renee LP! So good! I still need to find Send Me a Lullaby. Do you like Triffids, too? I'm really obsessed with them as well. I love Aztec Camera, too! I think I featured them in my jangle pop series! And Mathew Sweet is one of my top power pop artists. Have nearly every album of his and my favorite is In Reverse, which we need a vinyl reissue of badly! And the Church are in my top 20 bands for sure. Great taste!

i was not sure how to use the discogs app to sort out when ones are the rare ets.. but for me most likely many of my early 90's punk 7 inches from Chicago area bands like The Fighters, 88 Fingers Louie, Sludgeworth, and i have first pressing of Alkaline Trio debut without the cover as they weren't printed yet, and like an idiot i had their t shirt salesmen sign it, as i was making fun of the boys at the show..i should have had Matt and the boys sign it as who knew how big that would eventually get. I have a 7 inch from the Shamrock Shakes (from Iowa), and 49 Reasons (from the Carolinas) that i love as well. Also from the early 90's.

Depending on the band it can all blend together and became a bit lackluster after minutes. It has to be the right band to grab me. And I absolutely LOVE J&M Chain! Cheers!

there is a whole psychology behind people seeking out rare records or at least unknown to the vast majority of us,some are so into their passion that seeking out obscure music becomes their own mission, like hunting for gold in the hills or sifting thru sand at the beach with some machine haha, and really most not all is obscure because it wasn,t that good to begin with, other reasons also ,having said that kyu Sakamoto i would love to hear,my obsure ones i own are well an island compilation of artists on the label at the time, also i have a flexiedisc from England ,a Christmas party wher guest like adam ant, police, duran duran, culture club ect ectshow up and give there happy christmas wishes, i also have a blondie and freddie christmas throw down on flexie disc.i would lkie to ger the Fools album the psch, dutch artists from the 60,sanyway fun video thanks so much, please stay safe and give my best to chris.--Cheers!!!! oh the island record i mentioned was called_You can all join in-one day iwas on the webb looking it up,a friend texted me from England,he was in front of a record store,i mentioned the record to him,and he took it upon himself to go into that store asked about it,they found one copy way in the basement of that record store,so my friend bought it and surprised me one daywhen he came into my salon and handed it to me,so cool, its now on my wall.Happy i am.👍🌻🇺🇸🇺🇦

Greetings, Harold! The funny thing is that I don't intentionally seek out rare records. I think once we build a collection, inevitably we discover that we indeed have some rarities or a unique pressing of some kind! Glad you're familiar with Kyu Sakamoto! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this topic!

Don't have any of them. I wish I could get Ride stuff on vinyl. I bet a trip to the UK record stores would be worth it. My rare records are mostly German Schlager records. Somehow, some German came to Cleveland and donated them to Goodwill or traded in at Half Price Books. Now I have them. Do different labels count? I'm tired of adding stuff to Discogs. It seems I'm the only one with a specific label when there are like 10 variations of typesetting and layout. Last one I added was promo label copy of "The Best of Dave Dudley". I'm the only one who has it on Discogs, lol! Ain't worth anything but it's cool.

Early RIDE is very hard to acquire on vinyl. I think there is a reissue of their Nowhere album coming out later this year. I would love to go to the UK one day to record shop. Heck yeah! And I am not a fan of cataloguing my collection into Discogs, either! It's very time consuming!
