Why am I so afraid to do tasks that I used to enjoy. I used to use work as a way to escape from stress. Now I find everything, especially my job causes me anxiety. I know a lot comes from money issues and a lot comes from an abusive marriage, but I can’t take it anymore. I just do not want to spend the rest of my life in a state of anxiety and laziness .

You said it yourself - “i do not want to spend the rest or my life on a state of stress…”.
It’s a common fear, fear of fear/anxiety itself and the idea that it will never leave us.
If we resist it and wish it to go away the brain will “help” us with this goal by being on the look out for any anxious thought or feeling and constantly check.
When the brain is occupied doing that all day - all of our focus goes there and we cant focus on the things we used to enjoy because we are not present.
It’s ok to feel feelings, the work that must be done is to change how we interact and respond to these feelings.
When the brain wont view anxiety as a “problem to fix” it will stop tormenting you.
      Best of luck!

    Just quit your job
You dont produce anything of value anyways
How are you a social worker if you think the individual should be responsible for everything?

In my opinion we are not responsible for obsessions but we are responsible for how we react to them. So its all about taking responsibility. I read Matts book, its great. He know s what he's talking about.

Having read his book and started going through his TBC program - I must say that it has truly been eye opening and transformative. I'm not responsible for my thoughts and feelings for a majority of the time, but rather it's important how I respond to them. All you can control is your behaviors.
