I have come here from northern mudlarkers, brilliant ladies. I’m feeling quite emotional because I feel like I’ve found my place in the world. I have sooooo many little collections and love them all. You have found the perfect way to share them ❤
This was such a satisfying video! ❤ Love to watch you separate the collections, and color-coordinate things (“This is obvious: I don’t make the rules, I just follow them” 😂). The little book armoire is a WOW - absolutely delightful! If you’re going to start a safety pin collection, you’ll have to include diaper pins. So many cute ones with various, colorful plastic heads on them.
Love the channel….don’t let people keep you from expressing yourself any way you want….if it offends them they are not worth the effort….here to stay, and spread the word about your channel!
Nothing offends me, a person has to be their true shelf. I’m a big fan before this utube channel and am very very glad you decided to do it. Here for asking as you are😉😊❤️
I was having a kinda bummer day, just a little overworked and feeling drained… then I saw your post on Instagram and popped over here to check things out, and already I feel 1000 times better! I admire your meticulous organization skills and can’t even describe how happy all of your cool collections make me feel, pure nostalgia overload! Thank you for stepping into the RUclips space and sharing what you have and do with an even broader slice of the world, and thank you for coincidentally posting at a time where this video was available to help me reset my crappy mood! ❤
This is such a good video! You crack me up, and I love all the wonderful commentary. I can hear the smile in your voice as you talk. Thank you for sharing!!!
So grateful to Northern Mudlarks for highlighting your channel I know I'm going to love it ! Seeing you running your fingers through the buttons took me back to sitting on my Grandma's knee playing with her button box ( I'm now 77 ! ) perhaps that's why I have a collection of my own and still enjoy it 😊❤
So glad you are here! I think buttons may be the most magical of all my treasures just because it is such a universal memory of grandmas and buttons. It makes me so so happy to share this linked memory with so many humans. Thank you for commenting about it! A great start to the day!
I had a biscuit tin of buttons I played with as a child and I too loved the way they felt when I ran my hand through them. They were sorted and counted on more than one occasion but I never washed them. Now 68 and still have my buttons.
So happy you came over to RUclips . This is fantastic. I hope you have some tour videos planned, would love to stroll the shop with you and explore the collections. Thank you.
ASMR Buttons -- love it! Is there anything better? Yes, running your hand through the button jar! Loved every minute of this. So glad you have a RUclips channel now.
Ah! What!?! That's amazing!!! What are the chances!? (Of all the viewers on RUclips, the one that knows the patch is someone I know! Wild!) Thank you for sharing, Randell!!
@@office.of.collecting I was with the YT group back at the end of March and had to leave early due to another committment. I really enjoyed my visit! Thank you!
Oh my Lord! I have found heaven! This channel is amazing and makes me so happy. I feel like I have found a soulmate.I would love to visit your museum but live on the east coast on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and at 71 pretty I will never get to Ls Vegas. However I have thousands of tiny treasures and odd little trinkets much like you but not the space to display like you do. Hundreds of pieces of doll house furniture and accessories, buttons and dice, shells, pebbles and stones, old keys, miniature books, cracker jack premiums, glass and plastic swizzle sticks. and more and more. I have been wondering what I was going to do with lots of it as my nephew is not interested in most it, so I may start trying to donate some of it to you and your museum.
I am so glad you found us!! It does sound like we have a lot in common!! We love receiving donations and it seems like you collect just our type of treasures!!
You are so organized! Love that! We love the buttons! Subscribed when we saw you on the Northern Mudlarks. Not happy about hearing the expletives Thanks, Suzy AZ USA
@@office.of.collecting Yes, You are very pleasant listen to but yes skip the cursing. I think you're much better than that really. You are Very Very creative with explaining of your items and you have a beautiful speaking voice and expressions.... Have a lovely day! 😉
I just found your channel, and I'm a collector and historian, so I think I can ID that giant safety pin. I think it's a Navy ship's laundry pin. A friend of mine who's an expert on buttons, and life long collector, warned me never to mix celluloid buttons in with any metal ones, as it will cause the metal ones to corrode. I checked mine, and sure enough, they were crumbling or turning green, and not in a cool way..
I was just going through some buttons and a small baggie contained some that were crumbling, and to me, oddly moist with an odd smell. Could these have been celluloid?
@@office.of.collecting Thank you. I certainly will. Re. The little camel on your thumbnail. I have one just like it! I'm moving soon and have it packed away somewhere or else I'd share a photo.
Welcome to youtube!! So glad you started this channel and so glad to see that there is so much interest in collecting teeny stuff. Your organizational skills floor me, too!! Hope to be in LV again next month and I will certainly stop by to check things out!

Hey Jessica, I saw you with the NM (Northern Mudlarks) I love your channel. Can't wait for all the fun things we are going to see. I hate when thrift stores or estate sales have to put their price tags over the paper labels or on the maker's mark. It makes no sense. You have a dream job!
YES Glue or Nori paste - both cellulose paste glues - are archival, wrinkle-free, and great for extra thin papers. And they stick! Nori is used by bookmakers people who repair books. It’s a rice paste I think. I’ve used YES for many applications, including glueing thin paper to metal. Still stuck after 15 years.
The teeth drawer was the most surprising of our visit to The Office of Collecting and Design. Mike opened the drawer and quickly closed it, quietly saying, “And there is the teeth drawer.”
I just stumbled across this and had some thoughts. 1) How do I get people to send me tiny things? (Rhetorical) and 2) I like this chick! When you were closing the match boxes, we both said "goddamnit" at the same time 😂
I recommend UN•DU for removing estate sale stickers. It even work on stickers on paper or on other stickers. I have saved many vintage stickers under thrift store tags using it. It dries and doesn't hurt the paper (It feels weird the first time putting liquid on paper though.)
