The time has finally arrived and I’m hitting the streets for the first time in the #vk #commodore #holden #bluemeanie #hdt #brock #v8 How did it go? Watch and find out!
@TAVOTravsDIYGarage Years ago back in 2003 I had a VC SLE 253 that I put an injected 5.0l in and that thing was impressive(regret selling it). Injected 5.0l are good strong motors.👍
Very nice VK mate, Brought a VK Berlina 308 years ago (When I was an apprentice mechanic) to build as a tribute but it never happened sadly, Considering the VE HDT bodykit for my V8 Calais V. Keep up the good work mate, would love to have my old VK back.
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage I used to own an Ex Chaser 84 VK 308 4 speed V8. Man I miss that car. I bought it with 44,000km on the clock from an auction. That car was damn quick. At 97,000km the piston rings went on it that’s when i decided to mildly work the engine. Had the heads shaved , bored it out and dropped a mild cam in it and put new P86 Simmons with 50 series new at the time in Australia Falken Tyers on it. It was a great car with plenty power. I had only done 10,000km before some dickhead rear ended me causing $4000 damage,he didn’t have any insurance and neither did I at the time as I had been out of work for a few months and couldn’t afford it. My brother had a Ex Chaser VK 4.9 litter automatic, that engine was smooth as and went great.
It’s funny how many people do a VK Brock replica but almost always get the incorrect series 1 front bar and not the correct series 2 front bar found on the Group A and later Group 3.
sounds and looks sweet! love the old 304 music.
Cheers mate, there’s nothing else like it. 👍🏻
Nice machine, I love that you stuck with the Holden V8.👍
Cheers mate, had a 5.0 in a VR when I was younger and loved how that went and decided that’s the way I want it to be.

There is always little shakedown issues, but it went relatively troublesome free. Good stuff. Needs a big fat at exhaust note. To quiet. 👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
Actually sounds better IRL than on video. Can’t be to loud before the roadie though.
@ yeah I know what you mean. Just when you get the sound you like, someone complains. Good work getting it to this stage. 👍
👍🏻
Cool.
😎
Great work mate. Looks awesome!!
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Awesome work mate, been following the build, good to see it on the road. Grab a VS to airbox cover they look heaps nicer. Not too expensive either.
Thanks mate, I will look into that 👍🏻
lucky aussie bloke gday from WA
Gday buddy 👋🏻
👏👏👏👏👏
That's a good way to celebrate Australia day.
Sure was 🇦🇺

So what do I have, the correct or incorrect bar? I just used what I had!
Any more plans for motor wise like bigger cam maybe extractors. But regardless I’ve been watching since day dot with the vk congrats mate
Not at this stage, if I go extractors I need to find a VL intermediate shaft for the steering and they’re hard to come by.
Cheers mate 🍻
Don’t trust the average speed on the Calais dash. Mine “works” too 😂
Hope this wasnt the family involved in the accident today in Brisbane
No it wasn’t 😔
@TAVOTravsDIYGarage gld you're safe.
Thanks mate
A very exciting moment, well done. 🫡✨☮️🇦🇺
Yes it was very exciting!
Cheers 🍻
