Good video! I got the same 1685 and just wanted to let you know the bezel is lumed on mine so it seems they've upgraded it. The luminosity is pretty bright (but not very long lasting) and looks good. Well, I hope Pagani decide to do the same watch in Omega "Goldeneye" blue at some point (rather than the white face option). I know what you mean about the Phyleda but for me it's no contest since there's no way I would wear that name, cheers!
Hello Dave! Thank you for your review. I agree, the Phylida you have reviewed here is in fact the SE-12, with a DG-5833 movement, which offers GMT functionality. The comparable Pagani Design GMT model is the PD-1706 (see link below). The Pagani Design model in this review, the PD-1685, is of course NOT a GMT model. The comparable non-GMT Phylida is the SE-11, which uses the same case as the SE-12 (hence the confusion). As the SE-11 omits GMT functionality, both the movement and dial are different. Movements options for the SE-11 are a Miyota (less expensive, 21K bps, no hacking) or the PT-5000 (higher end, 28K bps, includes hacking and both automatic + hand-winding). Color ways of the SE-11 dial and bezel insert are different from the SE-12 as well (as of May 2022, that is). BTW Dave, just a comment about the video: I find the way the watches are shaken or moved about while you are trying to make a point about a watch feature to be rather distracting. If it’s difficult for you to keep from moving the watches while you are talking about it, perhaps it would be better to set them down on a surface then point to the feature you are discussing? I had my eye on the Phylida SE-12 for ages before I bought it. I thought the He valve was functional but I'll never use it. I agree with you about the blue dial. Sometimes it looks good, sometimes not. They did a non gmt version with the same wavey etching as the PG but online I liked the dial of this one. I'm impressed with the lume but I don't have much experience there. It can be a bit temperamental when setting the time.
Question… do the bracelets on either watch have full articulation? What I mean, is can you take the bracelets, and completely fold the bracelets to where the links touch in both directions, or are they flexible only when folding the bracelet downward, and limited articulation when you fold the bracelet upwards? Great review by the way!
Great review as always 👍. I like how you said you prefer to have a mechaquartz over an inaccurate auto, I share the same opinion. I believe you get the watches for the feeling and since it's an homage it can do without the automatic.
IMHO,the Pagani is all about show, the Phylida is all about go. I have what I consider to be a Phylida model(the round pip in the hour hand is a dead giveaway) with a black dial(early version, like the dial on your Phylida; Pagani has the 2018 wave style) of the early Omega. I do like the gmt version; the extra function is nice. I have seen a number of Pagani videos and have found that they are more about looks than functionality. I agree that Phylida should change its name and have some sort of decent logo, but even with a plain name I would take a watch that runs consistently over one that looks good.
The Lume is better on the Phylida. Both are generally poor however the bezel has the strongest lume on the SE-12 (which I don't use, I prefer to have dial indices lumed better)
The phylida is a homage of the quartz submariner… just look at the date position. The Pagani is exactly like the auto sub version, and the real Omega Seamaster link thickness is 4.5mm
When I ordered it, they only called it the SE-12, as per the marketing material here (which still says SE-12): www.aliexpress.com/item/4000740031701.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4d8BNiXB That's the Phylida official store. If you didn't know, many cheap Chinese manufacturers pay little attention to their branding and names and often are not consistent with it, having incorrect details on their watches/marketing materials. E.g. 100m on the watch by 200m in the spec. It's commonplace, so I would take their specs with a pinch of salt.

The biggest problem with the pagani is the hands, the lume only on ends is terrible....

I have both, the thicker links on the pagani is a non issue....its not too heavy and the pagani has a slight taper vs the Phylida.

I don't want the fake valve and I absolutely like the date at 6.. Easy choice for me

You need to get your facts straight before pretending to know anything about watches
My facts are straight, if you're just going to make a troll comment I can block you if that's what you want?
