I think I saw on your video a tag for $99 and maybe a $49 one that was not in top shape)
My buddies and I used to go there all the time back in the ’80’s. Omaha had a lot more foriegn surplus back then. We would buy all kinds of crazy stuff. We bought some Portuguese Lizard camo because we thought it looked cool! I bought a complete set of ERDL cammies that I actually wore on AD in Panama. Man, the memories!

Until just a few years ago, we had an army surplus store here in Springfield, Mo. When I was a kid, I used to love it. Our boy scout troop bought nearly all of its gear there. I remember that you could get a WWII backpack for 25 cents. Everything was cheap. I also got a helmet liner to use when we went caving. And we would just play "army" a lot. This is off topic, but a while back, some idiot on FB told me that a non-veteran who wore military garb or used the equipment was committing "stolen valor". I told him that was BS. What do you guys think?
If someone is going to do "Stolen Valor" first off, they would have to do a lot of research on the uniform regulations. They change a lot and often. In my 20+ years in the USAF AFR 35-10 made way for AFI 36-2903. How does one do "stolen valor" anyway? Putting on "fatigues" and some hat is not going to make someone military. One usually has military bearing, I always carried a little ball bearing in my flight suit for most of my career. A military ID card or old fart retired ID card. People who just get out after their obligation won't have that but they will have a DD-214. Once someone asked me what my "MOS" was and simply told him that we don't have that in the USAF. Did not bother to mention that AFSC thing however. Just wearing military swag however does not constitute stolen valor unless that person says that they were something that they were not. Personally, I would not be caught dead wearing any military swag in public but do have a collection of over 200 vintage USAF jet age flight jackets.
The army surplus store in Springfield Missouri closed a few years back and we do not have a replacement. Someone could do very well here if they would open one up. Zero competition.
Back in the 80s or 90s there used to be a government property disposal open to the public near here. Just everything. Junk as well as treasure, not a typical surplus store. But one thing I remember is a huge box on a pallet filled up with black holsters for .45 autos and poking around in it to find nice ones.

Used to be a WAY better store. Everything in there used to actually be military surplus a place to find some real collectors treasures. Now there is a lot of crappy commercial BS you can find anywhere, knockoff Chinese made camo. Slowly going from high quality to run of the mill. Started when the son took over.

@brainyhead1 okay, well one box has the combination set, distributor and tune up and the 3/8 and 1/2 drive, the other box has the 7/8 to two inch combination, and the 3/4 drive
@brainyhead1 I don't know when the army stopped using the William s wrenches in these to boxes, but I do know they had them issued to the mechanics in WW2 and korea
One Halloween, I wanted to dress up like Fidel Castro,....I found all the clothing, boots and correct cap, at the Army surplus store. At a costume store I found a realistic, dark curly haired, glue-on beard. On my way to the party I stopped to buy a beer at a carry-out, dressed in my Fidel Castro outfit, the other customers, thought I was senior officer in the military, and they let me go to the head of the line. It was hilarious.
Interesting how the prices have really increased along with the amount of “non military issue” military surplus. Funny that same ammo cans are $5 in Anchorage, $12 here and $15 in Minneapolis.

@@maxoutput01 I will look next time, I think they have some stuff. Sadly, most MAC/SOG original gear is going to be extreme rare. I will be back at Omaha's soon for another video and we will take a look. Always new items in the store DAILY as they buy a ton of gear in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. They still have a warehouse with boxes and crates from WW2 that have never even been opened much less sorted. GOLD MINE! I will show this soon. 😎
@@brainyhead1 Awesome mate. Look foward to seeing it
@@maxoutput01 Thanks!
I don't know about anybody else but there is absolutely no way I can go anywhere near a surplus store like this without Lottery money, if I did all my bills will end up being at least a month over due.
I totally understand my weaknesses and make strides every day to overcome them. 😅😅, yea right.
For sure! Thanks for watching! 😎
I wish there was one in my state. I miss them.
They are few and far between. That is why I am making this kind of content to share. Thanks for watching. 😎
I’m surprised that they let you film in there. Great store, thanks.
Very blessed for sure to film here! 😎 Thanks for watching!
Well I will say one thing that is a real surplus store that still has a lot old interested stuff to go with the newer stuff unlike a lot of the ones that only has uninteresting fairly new stuff and very little of anything of note.
Good mix here for sure. Thanks for watching! 😎
Love this place! Every time I’m in there I spend entirely too much money… and never regret it!
LOL same here! Always an excuse to buy something new! Thanks for watching. More videos coming soon just like this and we head back to Omaha's again for a re-visit. 😎
I’ve been going to Omahas since I was a little kid in the 00’s. They’re nice folks and I wanted to work there for a long time but nowadays I swear their stock just never seems to update. So much cool surplus available on various websites but at Omahas it’s just a few racks of uniforms, boots and sunrotten equipment. Not to say it isn’t worth checking out though, they deserve more visitors.
Thanks for watching! 😎
WOW!! Look at all the ammo cans for sale there...and at decent prices!
They have original & 😎cleaned up and restored AMMO cans! Very fair prices! Thanks for watching!
Any foot lockers with the tray? And in good condition? All three very difficult to find.
@@alanknight4418 they have them, not sure fully complete, but they do have footlockers in wood still. I’ll go back next week and shoot another video and show some up close!😎 thank you for watching, I think I need one also!!
Very nice - thank you!
@@VK-zt6sw thanks for watching!!! 😎
Cool video! Any info on the small plane in the beginning of the video?
It's a toy of some sort, I am sure they will sell it. Next time I go back I will ask them and film it. 😎
@ that would be great and thank you very much.
@@benniehoskins4745 Thanks for watching.😎
I'm in Md Salisbury in Delmare Dl had 1 but they retired
Right on! 😎
I was in there a long time ago. I bought a 20MM dummy round.
It looks like all the same stuff is still in there, but they can't sell much at the prices they have on stuff.
They aren't making it anymore once it's gone it's gone. Thanks for watching. 😎
I love that store but wish I didn’t have to drive 2 hours to get there
It's a hidden GEM for sure! Glad you get to go see them. Thanks for watching! 😎
Used to be a WAY better store. Everything in there used to actually be military surplus a place to find some real collectors treasures. Now there is a lot of crappy commercial BS you can find anywhere, knockoff Chinese made camo. Slowly going from high quality to run of the mill. Started when the son took over.
They still have a ton of Real ARMY Navy; they also bring in the new tactical gear to attract both kinds of crowds. Fun fact the Dad is still active in the business and they have a good amount of Surplus still left in a hidden warehouse. Thanks for watching! 😎
Memories. Angelo's and Omaha.
BBQ & Milsurp sign me up! 😎
If you are into rifle marksmanship, you can get WWII M1 Garand rifles, under the Civilian Marksmanship Program. They have competitions at Camp Perry in Ohio.
And surplus 30 '06 ball ammo!
That's rad will check it out!
@@brainyhead1 Stuff ain't cheap bro.
@@craigpennington1251 They don't make it anymore, so prices keep going up. 😎

Oh man! I love that place, shopped there in August.
The best! Same 😎 Thanks for watching!
I bought a 100 lb inert practice bomb there in the 1980s. I packaged it up in cardboard and checked it in as luggage on a return flight home. Pre TSA days when you could
Ok.....That's wild LOL 😎
Would you have the two military tool boxes with William s wrenches
@@andrewklahold2880 they may, give them a call Omahas.com is the web site. Thanks for watching 😎
@brainyhead1 okay, well one box has the combination set, distributor and tune up and the 3/8 and 1/2 drive, the other box has the 7/8 to two inch combination, and the 3/4 drive
@ will look next week when I’m back
@brainyhead1 I don't know when the army stopped using the William s wrenches in these to boxes, but I do know they had them issued to the mechanics in WW2 and korea
@ interesting for sure
One Halloween, I wanted to dress up like Fidel Castro,....I found all the clothing, boots and correct cap, at the Army surplus store. At a costume store I found a realistic, dark curly haired, glue-on beard. On my way to the party I stopped to buy a beer at a carry-out, dressed in my Fidel Castro outfit, the other customers, thought I was senior officer in the military, and they let me go to the head of the line. It was hilarious.
FUNNY! 😎
This is better than going to Cowtown. Wished I’d known.🤠🇺🇸
It's a good time for sure! Thanks for watching! 😎
Do they have jungle boots in stock ? Need a good pair size 10wide. Unable to locate
Yes, new and used original Jungles some with the tags still on them from NAM. 😎 omahas.com
Interesting how the prices have really increased along with the amount of “non military issue” military surplus. Funny that same ammo cans are $5 in Anchorage, $12 here and $15 in Minneapolis.
They aren't making anymore of the old gear, so supply and demand. Also Omaha's does have cheaper ammo cans that are not restored. 😁
At 1:42 that used to be a dummy or blue tube mk-82 practice bomb we used for training missions in the US Navy on our f-18 hornets , Like to know the back story on it its for sure empty , The real ones weigh 500 lbs and cool little video !
